Great video, Harry. One addition: the vibration caused by guitars and bass setting off the triggers. Threshold and Sensitivity plus more fine-tuning are necessary. I had a nightmare gig recently where bass and guitars (and the hollow stage) were transferring vibration setting off my floor tom bar-type trigger like crazy in certain songs and parts.
This is one of those situations where you absolutely don’t know until it happens on stage! Had a similar thing with the kick trigger and a Porter & Davies throne. Was weird vibrating the whole gig, but once it’s dialled, it’s a dream.
That’s because it’s a Head + Rim trigger so it has sensors for both. I would look at using a ‘mono’ jack cable to make sure only one signal is coming into the sample pad. That, or look at getting just the single trigger which is the RT-30H
Fortunately it can be relatively simple - if you’re just using it through a module (like the SPD-SX), then you can literally record the snare, mix it how you like, and then just import that audio onto the module. If you want to fully sample it, then it gets a little more complicated with software and MIDI!

This is super helpful. Thanks and much love
Your Amazing❤
You're the best!
No you're the best!
Freakin’ love you
I have an Issue where my trigger (rt 30k) doesn’t work when selected to the same model number. It only works if it’s set to Kd7. I’m using a spdsx.
Yeah sometimes that’s the case. The BT-1 for me is actually an RT-30H. That’s why we sometimes need to adjust sensitivity and threshold
Cool.
I keep getting an issue where if i tap my snare on the shell it triggers my sample with rt-hr30

How can I mix a snare sample with my acoustic snare? I would like to use a snare sample with my trigger without sacrificing my acoustic sound
