Cool about the Float sticks. I marched snare under Float in 1980- Spirit of Atlanta. Will try and find a pair somewhere. Also, the Offworld Shuttle pad looks similar to the Beetle pad although without the laminate. I love my pad and other Offworld products. Anyway, thanks for sharing.(especially about the Float sticks) Our local music store has a pair or two of the original Floats. Guess I'll have to buy them out.
@@KarlDrumTech Yep. This store has a stick rack with the latest models and then they throw the older models in a bucket for a "bucket-o-sticks" and they sell them cheaper. They don't know what they have!
Amazing video and I love your content! I just have a couple questions on the pad. 1) do you use this as an everyday pad, or is this kind of a pad that you go in and out with (if you know what i mean lol)? 2) is there any difference in playing traditional from match on this pad? 3) Would you describe the back of the pad like the back of the real feel material? I really like that playing surface and I feel like this is another product with it. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I really I really appreciate the compliment :) so yea it's my everyday pad. In and out? I don't know what you mean lol But I take it with me if I'm out teaching somewhere. But if I'm creating teaching content out in the field, then I use the standard round version with a stand. There's no difference playing traditional. I'd say it might be more comfortable playing traditional with in on your lap vs playing matched. The back is not like the real feel and I never use it for playing purposes. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@user-pv9cf4fr6d well...I always feel like pads don't need to be anything special beyond rubber and wood. The more complex they get like xymox or the ones with real rims and heads, their portability and practicality becomes questionable. That's just my opinion though. What do you think?

Originals? Damn... super valuable like the special edition ones I have! Offworld always makes great pads!

Is this awkward to play on in matched grip, or does it feel about the same as standing?
I mean, it's not the perfect playing height but it's totally fine. It's better than traditional grip, but even then it's not too bad

@@KarlDrumTech thank you so much this helps a lot!
Sounds like another cheap plastic surface.
That's what laminates are
@@KarlDrumTech i was implying the industry has not moved onto something better. Nothing special. I own 3 of beetle pads…
