Danny is spot on. It is NOT subjective like Simon argues. Decisions are clearly wrong. That is NOT allowed in the sport. Spurs scored as a result of the foul not being given, and yet VAR did nothing. That is not subjective - it is simply incompetence and a wrong decision that has cost a team a result. We are in game week 2 of this season, and there are already a number of potentially game changing referee errors that are costing teams points. Wolves SHOULD have had a pen against Man U. Liverpools red card was wrong. etc This is not good enough. Simon and Jim arguing that players need to respect the refs, is a seperate issue to Refs and VAR getting the decisions correct.

If the FA is trying to take time wasting seriously then either stop the clock or have a timer and it it takes 10 seconds to throw the ball then it goes to the opposition. Instead what we have is whenether the referee feels a bit pissed off but what about next week when West Ham take 20 seconds to do a long throw?
Danny is right VAR is a waste of time unless they get rid of clear and obvious error. An error is an error, it is either right or wrong end of story. Simon and Jim as always arguing different subjects and not listening to their guests
It's not purely about intent - a few years ago Mane sending off for high foot that collided with Ederson. Nothing malicious, but was dangerous so was a red. Mac Alister's wasn't a red card, even the FA have overturned his suspension. If refs want order back in the game they need to oversee matches with more consistency and VAR can help bring about more consistent decision making. It's incompetent because what 1 ref interprets as a red, another says yellow and another thinks 50/50 let play continue. If the rules aren't applied equally then there will always be a debate about are the refs doing their job or are they biased
Murphy asking for players being given time to “get used to rules”. Why? 100% agree with Danny. Some autonomy so that the correct decision can be made is common sense and definitely the right way to go. Some of the awful officiating we've seen already could have been helped by the technology.
That’s how it always is on this topic. Or they go to the “var has got more calls right than they would have without var” Like we aren’t arguing that. We are arguing the fact of someone is still getting it wrong with the option of replay. If I scrapped as many parts in a week of the amount of questionable calls or flat out wrong calls they are making. I’d be looking for a new job. They are paid to get it right and they have replays. And the players miss sitters…where are they being held to account. 1 they do get held to account, you miss enough you find your way to the bench or fold. 2. Players don’t get to have the same cross/shot over and over again to try and score. It’s a 1 time in the moment. Refs get the benefit of replay sand group discussion.
'try their best' but still get decisions wrong after getting to see endless replays, that's not trying your best, that's incompetence at the highest level and it's been ongoing with certain referees but of course no one can say anything after PGMOL is an actual cartel, they don't allow foreign officials to join for eg. A referee not in the PGMOL can't referee a game, thats a cartel. Nevermind their little boys trips to Thailand and why a large number of them seem to be from Manchester but somehow don't support the 2 big teams there (despite members of their families having season tickets there).
I have no problem this new law, but what I have a problem some teams get punished, and some teams got away, because of favoritism that is not fair rule. If they implement all across the board is fine, but MC, and MU, and Liverpool got away more than the other teams why?
it's simple. if VAR can't make a definitive decision then the on field decision should be made. I don't understand why this isn't more advocated to the public.
You can't ask the players to "get in line". If the on-field referee and VAR don't get the decisions right on the day, nothing will change. For example, if players dive and con the ref and know that VAR won't correct the Referee's decision, they'll do it again and others will be encouraged to attempt it themselves. Regardless of their principles, results are king.

Then why bother having VAR if it's not for telling the reff he's made a mistake?!!! Seriously, why have it?
100% agree with Danny. Some autonomy so that the correct decision can be made is common sense and definitely the right way to go. Some of the awful officiating we've seen already could have been helped by the technology.
Need to have a throw in clock, 20 second timer to get the ball back in play or get rid of thrown ins for kick ins.
Why does it feel like Simon Jordan and Jim White are arguing a completely separate point to the one Danny Murphy is making?
That’s how it always is on this topic.
Or they go to the “var has got more calls right than they would have without var”
Like we aren’t arguing that.
A guy with glasses has no clue about football
'try their best' but still get decisions wrong after getting to see endless replays, that's not trying your best, that's incompetence at the highest level and it's been ongoing with certain referees but of course no one can say anything after PGMOL is an actual cartel, they don't allow foreign officials to join for eg. A referee not in the PGMOL can't referee a game, thats a cartel. Nevermind their little boys trips to Thailand and why a large number of them seem to be from Manchester but somehow don't support the 2 big teams there (despite members of their families having season tickets there).
I think woke Jim has the painters in 😂
Incompetence by match officials has been present in the premier league for several seasons... and it isn't improving...
Simon "Hates all Players" Jordan
Hates them with a passion. Spent a decade trying to move in on their girl friends and ex-wives.
Has Jim ever thought Simon was wrong??
I have no problem this new law, but what I have a problem some teams get punished, and some teams got away, because of favoritism that is not fair rule. If they implement all across the board is fine, but MC, and MU, and Liverpool got away more than the other teams why?
it's simple. if VAR can't make a definitive decision then the on field decision should be made. I don't understand why this isn't more advocated to the public.
Simon is just taking the piss at this point
Bruno is right tho, Romero was a clear handball and they do owe United an explanation
The explanation was in this seasons guidelines, would have been given last year but rightly not this season
Danny is absolutely right…sheer incompetence in so many instances.
Jim's argument about no one calling players incompetent is ridiculous! He and Simon make a living being critical of players
Get rid of throw ins and introduce kick ins, players put the ball down and ground pass backwards. Simple!
jim getting paid from the refs or something? some of the worst refs in world football which is embarrassing for the best league in the world. already more shocking decisions than one had 2 weeks in
A referee can make an error in real time, human, but Var has no excuse.
Jim loves Simon, Simon does not love Jim, but Jim loves Simon. Nobody loves Danny, but Danny loves Danny. Love
Decisions are subjective within the rules
Where’s the CLASH?
Does Simon know he is one of them 'talking heads'? Why does he think he is not part of media?
Exactly. Thinks he's clever. We all know talksport do exactly the same
Officiating in the Premier League is the worst in the top 5 leagues and it's not even close.
According to Simon refs are bad because the players complain. Simon and Jim tag team and bully anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Jim gets extremely hostile and loud.
You have to admit though a referees job is harder than it should be because players cheat and lie all the time? You admit that yes?
Refs allow all this to happen they make it a hard job cause they are so bloody bad at their job they still will never get punished
It comes to something when Danny Murphy is the voice of reason. Jim White & Simon Jordan must be on Howard Webb’s pay roll. Awful.
How many times a day does Simon say courage in their convictions? The guy has his go-to words that he uses to sound smart, but he's actually quite limited in his vocabulary. Half the time also, he uses that phrase out of context. Sure sign he's not as bright as he wants us to think.
