I would put a lot more logs in the bottom of the raised bed and then tons of weeds as they are full of minerals and free. I had great success growing potatoes on top of my weeds and veg scraps in a rhubarb forcer pot with hardly any soil. They grew huge. The idea of the rhubarb forcer is that it’s open on the bottom like your beds so the worms can easily get in . When the plants sprout I leave the lid off. The point is, that we need way less soil than we think we do
Thanks heaps for your suggestions. Unfortunately everything here is at a premium, even weed's and logs. I had given some thought to putting a couple of bales of straw in the bottom but even they are difficult to source here. It all keeps life interesting. 😂
