    Really loved Pete's perspective near the end. Think he said something to the effect of "When are we going to be here, together, accomplishing something like this, again?" It's just nice to have that reminder among all the video documentation to embrace and live in the moment. We don't have to top it but we should cherish the memory.

I'm not sure if he got the inspiration from spending most of WWII in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Singapore, but he certainly did his research for Shogun.

    I think the "RUclips carrer needs to lead to TV production" kind of mentallity is the same as "All animated properties can only be legitimized by having a Live action adaptation"

    • @demi8890
      @demi8890 5 месяцев назад +2

      It kind of does need to lead into something bigger like a brand or a tv production though? Do you really think that Pewdiepie is going to be making money off of RUclips videos when he's 80 years old, when RUclips may not even be popular anymore as the world will be more advanced and probably obsessed with a new type of video platform (just like what happened to Vine when RUclips came along). Every single RUclipsr will either need to get qualifications to get a real job, or create some sort of brand or series that will outlast their online popularity, because most of the 20-somethings making videos on here will not be popular on RUclips for the rest of their working lives. Hell even Pewdiepie like I said, he doesn't get anywhere near the views he used to get, do you think he'd be rich enough to retire soon without making gaming chairs and merch and games and other things outside of RUclips?

    • @MexicanHeadbanger95
      @MexicanHeadbanger95 5 месяцев назад

      @@demi8890 I don't think RUclips is going anywhere any time soon. Also, Vine came and went within the lifespan of RUclips, and it clearly made no dent in the armor.
      I do agree that, depending on the content, some people should either strive for more, or have a plan B in case things go bonkers, but I think a lot of people can make a fine living with the content that they make, or they serve as a hobby that brings in some extra cash.
      The real issue I'm trying to point at is the "There's only one right way" mentality. RUclipsrs have always struggled with "making it big" becasue they think that their content is seen as "lesser", Arin Hanson has always said he doesn't like being called a celebrity even after 10 years of making RUclips videos, so do Philip deFranco, and Jacksfilms. Also, They have all ventured out into different things, but they were always things that THEY wanted to do. They didn't go for any type of "milestone" like other RUclipsrs that DID go for the easy milestones, like writing a book, or making a late night show.
      The best artists, the best entertainers do so by being themselves, not by trying to fit a mold that the industry is telling them "It's the best for your carreer".

    59:35 the good news is that Connor doesn't actually need to worry that he "lost the progress". Once you've reached a benchmark, it's much easier to bounce back up to it even if you took a long break. That super flexible guy you might have seen all over the shorts page mentioned it in one of his stories, although he spoke from "flexibility" his powerlifter friend in the video vouched that it's true for other muscle types too. I grew up with unnaturally toned abs due to my quirks in posture(always leaning or swaying to help combat stagnating blood in legs and such), so despite rarely exercising and even then never targetting the abs I still had a countable 8. Since the pandemic it went away due to poor diet and static lifestyle (took years), and till recently too. Nowadays I reworked my nightly stretch into semi exercises like a hybridized yoga. Within a week it came back stronger than ever, and only a month later it was fully countable again.
    Basically, the 'peak form' you once worked so hard for, but for some reason let go, is much easier to reach the second+ time around and you'll find it's almost laughable to amount you can surpass it by even with just the same effort you put into maintaining it before.

      It's a shame he didn't get better weather, but if anyone's going to just keep going it'd be Garnt.
      I mean, they all did incredibly well but Garnt's portion seemed to mostly be a mix of misery and anxiety.

    For anyone interested, the percentage in weather forecast is not about IF it's gonna rain, but how much of the area will be affected/covered by rain.

      This is the second misunderstanding of this that I have seen, misunderstood in the same way too. While I cannot speak about devices outside of iPhones - when an iPhone, "weather app says there is an 80 percent chance of rain on a Sunday morning, that means there is a 80 percent chance of rain at any point in that area throughout the entire morning."

    Two Tarantino-esque films that always come to mind for me are Bad Times at The El Royal and Bullet Train, both have larger casts of characters who all have their own complex connections and motivations, with loads of dramatic irony involved, a lot like The Hateful Eight and a little bit of Kill Bill
    Honourable mention to The Man With The Iron Fists, whose director RZA was heavily influenced by Tarantino, but also had Tarantino on to help write, cast, and produce.

  • @jcprime4042

    Garnt's talking about influential pieces of media that came out during his lifetime and I'm genuinely surprised the topic of Dragon Ball just never came up. It's not exactly hyperbole to say that the landscape of animation and storytelling as a whole takes so much from the great strides that Dragon Ball made.

    • @kneau
      @kneau 5 месяцев назад +1

      Technically, literally even, Dragon Ball predates Garnt by six years. Yes, it continued to expand and be built upon as a franchise but it already existed by the time he was old enough to discover and enjoy it.

    Sorry Monke, Germany wouldnt be fine for a Cyclothon. There is only a very poor and patchy connection in most parts of rural Germany. You would need three routers and three SIM Cards for all of the three german mobile networks and you would still get many connection issues and bandwith problems with them.

    The biggest change to the Highway Code in the UK and advice is we need to cycle at least in the middle of the lane but closer to the outside and away from the curb is far safer.

  • @requiemforameme1
    @requiemforameme1 6 месяцев назад

    21:48 This is the right thing to do. If you’re moving at traffic speed (~30MPH), you need half a lane in case you get the speed wobbles. And you’re not really holding up traffic for long.

    Man, if your not used to it, bike seats are no joke. I remember I once road a bike after a super long time of not riding. Also I was pretty overweight at the time. My butt hurt so bad, it finally got to the point where the pain stopped and I just went numb. For the rest of the day I couldn't feel my butt or anything in my pelvic area (yes my Weiner was numb lol)
