5 minutes late from a 5 hour journey aint bad at all. You could end up getting caught in traffic and sit there for 2 or 3 hours. Props to National Express.
Yeah the trip in the other direction was late by about 1½ hours 🤣
@@glitchFan2428 I do the journey from London to Leeds quite often and it usually takes about an hour and three-quarters to get to Milton Keynes. If it took your journey two hours fifteen then the driver did well to make up almost all the time.
There was a flixbus at Victoria to Manchester aswell which one arrived first

1st time I travelled on a coach it was £1 return Newcastle to London Victoria in 1974. Seems cheap. a cup final ticket was also £1 in 1974 and they are £100 now. Coach had a toilet and you could buy coffee. Pop. Sarnies. Crisps. Sweets. Smoking was allowed but smokers were asked to take seats at the rear. No TV but an 8 track stereo played until 2am then lights out. Arrived 6am after a 6 hour journey. No reclining seats yet.
Mmmmm they should do heritage tours to recreate that experience... Although I think there might be some red tape to go through now

I ddi this journey a few times. When it's quiet it isn't so bad but then it's full and people being hot and smelly food on board (which they're not supposed to) it's like being tortured for five straight hours.
The journey from Manchester to London was full, and was on an outsoured coach run by another company. That was quite shit ...

If only they were allowed to go bit faster, cheaper and better seats than lot of people would have travelled by it. Likes of Virgin trains would not have charge people crazy fares
I don't think virgin runs the trains anymore but I get your point. It's really crazy the fares

They are a lot better than the ones on the coach I got towards London. That was torture.. was outsourced to a different company

I usually prefer buses from a leisure point of view as I get to see more things. If I just wanted to travel somewhere I'll probably prefer train as it's faster

anyone done this at night is it safe ?
I would think the ride itself is quite safe but some destinations like Manchester might be a bit dodgy at night
Done a few coach trips to/from Huddersfield to London at night. On board, they feel pretty safe, I’ve never known there to be any issues. The risk factor in my eyes is the waiting around a bus stop/coach station at night, some places are unstaffed and not so safe, and you need to consider your onward travel options as well.
