Positional value isn't a real thing. People who think so are just copying what they've heard from Mel Kiper or other self-proclaimed draft guru... yet somehow these "gurus" aren't employed by any of the 32 teams in the league 😂
It's about winning football games. Draft the players high, that will be the biggest factors in winning you football games. No matter what the position they play.
Lions released a long ass video on scouts after 2022 season. Told you everything you ever wanted to know. Outta control how thorough and next level our scouting department operates.
@@InbredSpanishKing yes but is it their job to personally interact with coaches and player and bring them donuts and such, and have that sort of presence??? Idk if it is or not, but we do it 😁
Hey JEFF. I don't know if you remember me from the other program you were on, congratulations on your podcast , this is great content. Much success. Take care brother. P. S. Thanks for not cussing just for effect.
Only 335 players are invited to the NFL combine. There are many more players than that who are drafted and get invited to training camp as NDFA's. The Lions do a great job of finding players after the top 200.
The most underrated aspect of Holmes drafting is he is so good early, he can draft high ceiling potential later. He gets a lot of flack for this from the national media but if he goes 1/3 on these "projects" it is worth the risk. Saint, Aliem, Iffy... Keep drafting ballers early and potential late, that is how the Lions will be competitive for 10 years and not one and done. Good content!!
rule change in nfl for last 20 years made it to passing league not coaches or players but rule changes, no more hard hitting defense (soft tackles), no hitting QB, change in line scrimmage on defense backs change, defesne passing defense interference call more often.
While i do agree it is a passing league i also agree that the conferences are tailored differently: the AFC is a pass first conference and the NFC is a run first pass conference need to build to what your facing
Brad Holmes said im going to draft a guy with the 13th pick that produced 1,2+ yards and 10 TD's...and that was as a part-time player. You guys keep playing word salad with terms like positional value meanwhile Brad will be drafting guys that produce....end of story!
I think you have your word usage mixed up here. You’re saying semantics. That’s usage of words.and what they logically mean in a sentence. Word salad is what you just wrote. An assortment of words together that make little sense.
Your best video yet. Love how you were able to sneak a peak behind the curtain.
Thank you David! I appreciate that.

I'm a little confused on the combine comments. I thought the Lions did go to the combine, as they talked to LaPorta at the combine.
John Michael Dorsey!!!
This is exactly what Brad said in his first interview about Gibbs… no new info here
Yeah this video sucks we already know all this
It's been done b4....not by you guys....but other teams 🤫🤭

Holmes is on a different level when it comes to getting the right players for the Lions.

Great insight. Thank you.
Thanks man! Love seeing you guys cover this. It was great insight.

Wingo was part of an LSU D line that was stacked with heralded recruits, yet he out produced them all.
Actually he did not out perform then 🤫🤭
