@@almac9203 honestly I'd much prefer a Tesla at that price. The Taycan rwd is too slow at that price. 5 secs to 100kph is unacceptable when paying that much
@@supaahflyy firstly this is the entry version and there are quicker versions available for those that need more pace. Best honest review of the Taycan. Many EVs will try to impress with specs and 0-60 times and HP. Reality is unless you are drag racing in a straight line then those numbers don’t matter much. This is a car that brings joy to the driver. For cruising around the back roads and even on the track, the luxurious interior , the beautiful curves (not boxy like other EVs), the superb handling and breaking make this an absolute animal.
I bought one, so excited! Couldn't afford the 4s but this basic version fits nicely in my budget. I think I will miss the raw off the line punch of my RS5, but it's a small concession to me. Glad you seemed to like the car, mine is coming in May!

Hey Max is it worth switching from a 911 to a taycan. I actually daily driver my 911 a total of 84kms per day. I'm considering switching to a taycan because of the cost of "fuel". I can only afford the baseline rwd though.

Never had any issues still original motor and battery under warranty till mid 2024 An ice car would have already had at least a gearbox failure. EV’s last long.

So I pour my money into my houses and my family. And still enjoy the fact my kuga gets me to places faster than I can walk or run. This knowledge comes with experience age and wisdom. Enjoy the fast cars. Thanks Rory for great review I might buy one in the future.
Nice video. In the 4S the rear transmission is disconnected and you are driving on the front wheels only unless you step on it. That takes the advantage of using the high gear for range away. Does this one get extra range because of it. if so, I wonder why they just don't disconnect the front motor in a 4S to get more range.
Most EVs do not rely on raw speed, as stated in the video. Nissan Leaf, Zoe, e-Golf, ID.3, are not known for raw speed. Teslas are known for raw speed. I think Taycan may be Porsche’s best selling model in 2021 thanks to this version.
I’m still waiting to see the family hatchback with a good range at 20k. Any takers on predicting if that will ever happen, it wasn’t that long ago you could pick up pre.reg. Focus for 12k

how come they can't make electric cars sound good when electric forklifts sound good but I guess your right on top of the motor in a electric forklift so you hear all the sounds
Do you think a real base Taycan without optional Pilot Sport 4s, optional brakes and I assume the optional four-wheel-steer, air suspension and active dampers would be close or equally good to drive? Don't think I've seen such a setup tested anywhere. Do you know any journo who's driven one?
I think you’d probably need to spec performance battery Plus £4,000 at a minimum. The rest you can probably do without. I expect it would drive really well. Might even be better without pilot sport 4 - weather depending of course.
@@AutoTraderTV Thanks for thoughts! :-) Shame they seemingly don't have them as press cars... I think in Cali they had a pretty barebones 911 non S a few years back but that's about it. How are you supposed to form an opinion on an entry level car if they just spec all the demos with all the Turbo S performance extras except the bigger motors and ceramics.... (even those coated break discs with the white calipers are 2.975€ here...)
I suspect their cars would usually get worse reviews if they didn’t fill them with extras to make them feel better. Bog standard cars usually leave a worse impression.
The whole RWD vs AWD fun difference doesn't make any sense for electric cars. You have two independent motors, so you can easily turn an AWD electric car into RWD. Better to save the money and get a Model 3 Performance. Just turn on Track mode, set rear bias to 100, stability control off, now you have a fun RWD electric car that can do 0-60 in around 3.1s, and it's lighter.

He was. And the bbc prefered to include those two new buffoons instead of keeping Rory and Matt LeBlanc (Well, Matt had to leave for personal reasons but still)
Could not agree more. Rory knows cars, great style, etc. And Chris is a legend. But those other two f...ing idiots are just good at being bullying dickheads.
Wait... so you have to pay extra for either interior!? Yet it's not included in the base price?
I've of my favourite roads to drive in my local area 🧡
Rory bringing out the Shania Twain lines. He better start rocking the full on leapord body suit at some point soon.
Man. That would probably make me feel like a woman.
how come they can't make electric cars sound good when electric forklifts sound good but I guess your right on top of the motor in a electric forklift so you hear all the sounds
Tesla's M3P with a track mode upgrade is both awd and rwd depending on your mood.
@@AutoTraderTV yeah. *Sigh.
Dare I say it? : Meanwhile at Tesla...
Great car!
Came to say Hola Rory.
Love that into
Portland, JAMAICA in The Building !!!!
Guess I should quit feeling bad that I have to put 2 grand in my 3 grand truck. Prices of new vehicles have gone bonkers.
This Is a car for you Rory ! You should buy one 😄
Song that is at 1.05 of this video ?? please reply guys !!
what's the difference with a metric hp to the convential "hp"?
Sounds like a mistake was made and needed correction at *408* metric horsepower ; D 2:45
What are the pros and cons of RWD vs.4WD, in the context of Taycan?
Skids or not skids.
Love it!!!!!!!!
Rory is the next Jeremy Clarkson
The whole RWD vs AWD fun difference doesn't make any sense for electric cars. You have two independent motors, so you can easily turn an AWD electric car into RWD. Better to save the money and get a Model 3 Performance. Just turn on Track mode, set rear bias to 100, stability control off, now you have a fun RWD electric car that can do 0-60 in around 3.1s, and it's lighter.
Want one!
This guy and Matt from Carwow could team up to form the core of a new TopGear.
