I've watched all your videos on Surface Duo just bought it yesterday. Didn't disappoint. Blown away, game changer. Thank you for taking time to review and answers questions on the Surface Duo.
Im a techie and commodities broker by profession. I move capital for high net worth clients and institutions. I own several phone from Apple (iPhone XS Max that last iphone i bought), Samsung(Note 20 Ultra, Fold 2), One Plus(8T and 9Pro), LG(G7, V50, V60), Google(Pixel 5) and Xiaomi(Mi 11 Ultra). Monday -Friday there is only one device I run my business from and that is my Surface Duo. Its the Blackberry for the new era. When the weekend starts I drop my SIM into any one of the other phones that I have. My first purchase of the Surface was at launch and I returned it as it was incredibly buggy. I recently purchased it again back in May when all the updates have been done and let me say I absolutely love it. I cant wait for the next iteration.
J. I know I'm a bit late but I watched this restream in it's entirety. I couldn't agree more with the points you were making. I value your vids man so keep up the great efforts! I wanted to post here just to make a mind blowing comparison. A coworker of mine and I had a device battle last week. He had the new Samsung Fold 3 against my Duo. He unfolded his and I unfolded mine and he was immediately wowed!!!!! Even I was amazed over the screen real estate.

I picked up the 128GB version, for $415, brand new, from Woot, via Amazon. It was locked to AT&T but Microsoft provided me a code. It took them 4 days to get me a code. Great video BTW.
Appreciate this! Wish I was there live so I could have asked some questions. Got my Duo just last week for $700 Canadian and love it. You were right about not wanting to switch phones after going to the Duo. I have the S21U and I got my sim in the Duo... thinking of selling the Ultra!
I'm the same way, I have note 20 ultra. It's a beast of a phone. I just wish Samsung had this form factor, or maybe Microsoft can adopt some features from Samsung stylus. Seriously that would be awesome.

Gboard works well while you span if you switch the Gboard layout to Floating. You can even resize the floating Gboard size to better fit how you like it.
The SwiftKey is pretty impressive as well. I'll have check out gboard floating as well. Thanks for the tip.

Any idea how to get Google search to open on the right side screen? I can't use the thing cause it always opens on the left. Even with the Google search widget on the right side screen it opens on the left?
does surface duo have flat Microsoft emojis like Windows 10 (love those) or Android emojis?
Sadly I missed out on the sale. I paid $1100 :( and it was to late to get the price difference from best buy. But still love my Duo.
I love the surface duo had it 3 weeks now. Like the man says all phones have a few bugs but MS seem to have ironed out the initial big ones. Not sure if anyone has had any problems with wireless headphones? Notice mine cut out occasionally when in a pocket with a metal zip, when I take it out there is no issue, possibly a metal conducting issue? Great video by the way!
j william i want one advice - i am outside US, do you still recommend this to non US user? Given the green screen, cracked USB port, etc. Is the hardware so risky? If you still recommend then where do you recommend for international user to buy it?
get the unlocked version, and to avoid the usb port issue use a magnetic usb cable adapter, works great for me. it will work with any carrier unless it uses only 5g which is uncommon, this one works on any LTE 4g network, I'm using ATT with no problems at all.

How can you video call with the Microsoft Duo 1 phone?
J.Will have you ever tried the duo with a smartwatch such as a Samsung Galaxy watch for notifications so you don't have to keep opening the duo to check and see who is calling or texting? I just bought the duo yesterday from Microsoft and want to pair my watch to it when it arrives
Yes, I use a smartwatch and it works like a charm. Calls, sms, sns, everything works.

How do you carry around 2 phones and handle the sim card? I have 4 phones, but only can use 1 at a time because I have to switch up the Verizon sim card in phone I'm using.

Good grief J, now watching this one. Trying to hold off purchasing this but you are making it difficult! At this price could sell my v60 dual screen and only owe a little bit. Just afraid I might miss the v60 if I get this. Retired, so don't have a lot of play money any more.

I have had a duo as my only phone 9 months, no issue w USBC slot. also not a scratch on it and I don’t use a bumper. great device
