Imagine if James May was the real Stig, but drives really slowly in purpose so that nobody suspects that the Stig is actually him... XD
+azzy mazzy he revealed in a radio show that the after the first stig quit, while they where looking for a new Stig, James May was temporarily the Stig.
+Marcello Penk-Masucci were we actually supposed to believe that Michael Schumacher was the Stig or was that a snide joke?
+dustindo I think a bit of both? It was supposed to make us think something like The Stig, at any moment, could be a legendary race car driver.
But Michael did drive his FXX and set a lap as the Stig for that one episode.
It's kind of Schumacher driving style .. Over the top aggressive style ... That's why people say it's Schumacher...
+dustindo No Michael was never the stig. He came in that show because they were testing one of the Ferrari's that he owned so he was guest starring. The real Stig for a while was actually Ben Collins.

It's such a shame Sabine's passed away. I liked her. She was an incredible driver, she was alot nicer than I was hoping and she was always fun and wonderful on Top Gear.

I miss the Stig. He ain't in the Grand Tour with the original crew and is stuck in Failed Top Gear. All those lap times, events, races...
Multiple different drivers have played as the stig and the BBC effectively copyrighted it meaning GT couldn't carry it on, even though the term was created by the current producer of GT
Still they got ,for a brief time but still, the Ben Collins into an episode!

The sound of the Aston Martin is outstanding, love it!
The Aston V12 and the Porsche Flat 6 make such a great sound.
I feel like Stig is like their pet. Whenever he wins a race they’re so proud of him.
They were proud of James.

I'm not good at German, but I think if it was "not" he'd have used 'nicht', whereas 'niemals' gives that sense of 'no way' or 'never'...

Ben "the Stig" Collins tells the story that the car he drove in this race had a sticking throttle. He said that's why he locked up the brakes in that corner and had to ride the breaks against a full throttle through corners.
