    About 8 years ago I was eating a mango on my porch, when I had finished I threw the seed into the corner of my overgrown front garden and thought nothing of it. I now have a wonderful 20 foot tree which produces tons of tasty sweet yellow mangoes every year. Nature is wonderful :)

      Yeah I've had this happen to me many times in Sri Lanka where I grew up. The one that I'm most fond of is an orange tree that grew from the seeds of an orange that i bought when i visited my sick grandma on the other side of the country 20 years ago. It's really a testament to how fertile the soil there was. Even seeds or leftoever plant cuttings have a chance of growing if you just throw it away on the ground.

      @@SithijaWijesinghe It is nature's way. She has been at it for millions of years, so yes! I do get upset with "Modern Farming" trying short cuts, with chemical substitutes, which ultimately upset that million year refinement and delicate balance by mother nature.

    • @TheWeedyGarden
      @TheWeedyGarden  8 месяцев назад +1

      So far not fruit flies but you can get fruit fly traps from Bunnings to hang around the branches. You need some kind of attraction and a trap.
