I just lifted the heat shield and it was fine. Aligning the heat shield back in the little grooves was a little finicky for me. But not too bad. Easy RAM upgrade.
Yes, you can. It needs to be PCIe NVMe one - it can be either gen 3 or gen 4 (I recommend gen 4 though). Just remember that it will replace your old SSD since this laptop has only 1 slot for it.
Hi. I would like to know If I can upgrade my ram adding 16 gb?, which I would have 8gb + 16gb = 24 gb, does it combination ok? or you have to introduce two rams memory the same size for example (8gb + 8gb) or (16gb+16gb?)
From experience, it doesn't need great cooling, probably due to chip's efficiency and maybe enough cooling as it is. The fan hardly ever turns on, and the laptop works really really well. We are past the times when a little better cooling made a big difference.
Was able to upgrade my RAM (added a 16GB) without any issues using this video. Thanks!
Did you need to take the battery out to do so or can you just lift that heat shield?

Can I add an external graphics card to it?
@@bluedragon1973yes, using thunderbolt or using nvme oculink
I would like these models to have a second slot for m.2
Excellent video thanks. I was puzzled as to where they put the RAM slots but looks like they just hid it.
Can I add an external graphics card to it?
This laptop supports SSD NVME PCI-e 4.0?
Can you install a sim card reader if you don't have one already..?
does it have a sim slot for 4G?
this is better than lenovo thinkpad and dell latitude
I wish the video showed where you started to separate the back. I hate bending the plastic.😢
@laptopmedia can you please name some HP i7 laptops which have 2x ssd slots?
What is the purpose of the SSD and memory shields? Is it a problem if my laptop doesn't have those shields ?
No problem I‘d guess, it‘s just the heat distribution
Generally speaking it's RF shielding to make devices compliant.
Hello, I'm curious about upgrading the ssd to gen 4, will it will it work or will it be faster?
Vai funcionar, porém não sera mais rapido, vai limitar até o maximo da geração 3.
3 long and 2 shorts screws in back panel
i forgot which one goes where, please help
is the M2 PCI-E Slot a Gen3 or Gen4 slot?
support both
can I upgrade the storage to a 1TB of SSD? I am kinda a noob in these stuff

@@MrLukassky Gen 4 will be limited to gen 3 bandwith
@@csn04 Do you have confirmation about this? afaik this laptop supports PCIe gen 4 and processor supports it as well.
@@MrLukassky Yeah, I just realized this is the intel one. The amd variant doesnt support gen 4
Anyone tried fitting SSD and/or RAM cooling heatsinks under SSD and RAM protective shields?
How can I clean the keyboard???

In general it's best to use 2 of the same size (ideally same exact model)
That's the extent of your "disassembly"?
So i cant keep the ssd and add an Hdd ??
nope, its a newer laptop, there no sata connectors
Cómo puedo cambiar el teclado
What's with the girly gloves?
very ,very poor cooling .....

@@rommax4865 just to confirm what you said!
desde los intel de 10ma generacion ya no calientan tanto.
@@rommax4865 Well..., if you are using it for intensive tasks and keep your hands on the keyboard all day long, it's not that great.
@@rommax4865 sometimes it will shut down when i play genshin, so not really a great cooling... good for work, but in free time isn't enough.
