    Was able to upgrade my RAM (added a 16GB) without any issues using this video. Thanks!

      Did you need to take the battery out to do so or can you just lift that heat shield?

    • @macdaddydwj
      @macdaddydwj Год назад

      I just lifted the heat shield and it was fine. Aligning the heat shield back in the little grooves was a little finicky for me. But not too bad. Easy RAM upgrade.

      Generally speaking it's RF shielding to make devices compliant.

      @MrLukassky Год назад +2

      Yes, you can. It needs to be PCIe NVMe one - it can be either gen 3 or gen 4 (I recommend gen 4 though). Just remember that it will replace your old SSD since this laptop has only 1 slot for it.

    Hi. I would like to know If I can upgrade my ram adding 16 gb?, which I would have 8gb + 16gb = 24 gb, does it combination ok? or you have to introduce two rams memory the same size for example (8gb + 8gb) or (16gb+16gb?)

    • @JD-USA
      @JD-USA 2 года назад +4

      In general it's best to use 2 of the same size (ideally same exact model)

    • @rommax4865
      @rommax4865 3 года назад +11

      From experience, it doesn't need great cooling, probably due to chip's efficiency and maybe enough cooling as it is. The fan hardly ever turns on, and the laptop works really really well.
      We are past the times when a little better cooling made a big difference.
