I remember seeing 2 of these rotting in a council yard not far from where I lived in the early 70s! Council yards were a great adventure for 7 year old boys then!
😮WOW omg matilda again young lady you are amazing and always showing us a different interest you have not being funny but I love how many different interests you have for a young lady 😂, I'm getting very old 😂and I remember when I was at primary school we had a old steam engine permanently in our school yard what we played on, well the fabulous matilda thank you again for making my day brighter and full of fun take care and stay safe until the next time 🎉

@@matildariverwaldennews Did you know that this 1921 built road roller spent its entire life working for Perth and Kinross Council ? Did it have a Scottish accent ?😊🤔👍
New subscriber… I am really enjoying your videos! Your enthusiasm for these vintage vehicles is very inspiring!! Seeing a real one of these is very cool! I have a miniature version in my Matchbox collection. Thank you so much for sharing!🙂🙂
Brilliant video first I’ve seen of your channel, definitely have to watch some more Nice to see the enthusiasm of younger people in this sort of thing, I’m 22 and find not many people my age have this enthusiasm
Great video. When I was little (in the 1950s and 1960s) I remember some events where they had dozens of steam-rollers like this. They also called them 'traction engines'. Somewhere I still have the photos I took of them; there was no such thing as video back then. It's never a good idea to walk in front of one of them. As the man said, they have no brakes. I saw someone run over by one in a Tom and Jerry cartoon and the end result was they looked like a pancake.
Great video, not getting picky but the traction engine is a steam roller, I was brought up round them as my god father owns three I think and after life took over work work oh work then having my own kids my parents have now got my eight year old and six year old all wanting one but when I ask what would she use it for and she looks at me and said she will drive to school on it, I have to say I have no answer to that lol
What a beautiful road roller, the steering on these is in another world, similar in a way to steering a large boat as its controlled by an endless chain. Great video thank you Matilda
Christ on a bike Matilda good job nothing went wrong @3:20 you'd be as flat as a pancake! @4:35 could you possibly put some subtitles up here my darling you got a bit too excited then and I can't understand a word you're saying lol
