Hi Tom, I think that’s the issue, the device doesn’t work in the way you thought it worked. It works differently. I’m actually quite surprised you didn’t break it. Did you check other RUclips videos before you attempted to use it. My intention is not to be harsh or insulting and I don’t mean to offend. Do you cook a lot with tofu? In any case, best wishes to you.
I'm not trying to be mean but why do you think you need to crank that down like that? Just twisting it lightly till it's firm will squeeze out the water. It's actually pretty simple to figure out. If you do it lightly and wait 10 minutes and then give it another turn it will turn easily. Your trying to press all the water out at once which is not possible. Tofu is too dense to squeeze out like that. You must apply pressure then wait.
I actually bought this too. I put the top on and gave a turn then walked away. TMI but Potty break. When came back it was working. Waited 10 mins then turned again. 10 min later gave another turn. Came out great! I think maybe you were having a tough time because the instructions suck.
To be honest after watching this I am thinking how great of a stress test this was on the product. May I recommend trying a softer tofu, medium firm is what I will be using on my new Tofudee

Twist until it clicks and then let it sit for 15 mins or so. It works great
Someone told me that I needed to cut the edges off my tofu so they could smooshed down better I will try your tip thank you for watching
You're doing too much. You give it a few turn, let it drain and compress, then give it a few more turns to compress more.

You really don't have to turn it that much. As you can see from the bottom, it's already squeezing a bunch of the liquid out

Lol, chill. have you ever even pressed tofu before? you're going to destroy your tofu. it's not an instant process.
