- I bought five tofu presses and tested them all out for you! All five are good, but watch to see which one is the BEST tofu press in 2021! This video also shows how to use tofu presses (if I can figure it out... anyone can do it!).
Pressing tofu is so important for stir fries, baking, and grilling tofu! When you press tofu it pushes the moisture out and allows the tofu to better absorb sauces/spices/flavor, and also makes the tofu firmer, and less likely to fall apart (very good for grilling.. I remember my dad and I grilled tofu and half of it fell through the grills because we didn't tofu press!). Pressing tofu is the secret key to less bland and more flavorful tofu!!!
The five tofu presses reviewed in this video are:
Yarkor (transform) tofu press
EZ Tofu Press
Tofuture
Tofu Bud
Noya Tofu Press
You can find all of these tofu presses on amazon! That's were I bought mine! (This video is not sponsored.)

Love how you measured the tofu before hand! So many people don't do that in their videos, thank you!!!
Absolutely! I am a bit of a nerd so I like to have all the right data haha. Someone pointed out I should have used the same brand of tofu... which is an excellent point!!! Next time.
Once you turn the knobs on the the EZ Tofu Press you stand it on its side on a towel or plate, don't lay it flat. You are also supposed to tighten the knobs every five minutes or so over a 15 to 20 minute period of time; works great.
Thank you very much. That is the one I wanted to buy because the strength of my hands. I would have just placed in the sink but not on its side. Thank you. I think I will buy instead of using my rod iron skillet
That's the one I used to have. It works great. I now have a Tofuture. Haven't tried it yet but looking forward to it~
Yeah that makes WAY more sense!! I will def try it out!
Thank you for this-I did something similar for myself and decided on the same one you did! My two others will get donated. Love this one!
I’m glad you found one you like!! ❤️
Loved that you kept the "bloopers" in your video. Funny and authentic video.🤭
Haha thank you so much :)
Excellent video! Super helpful; thank you so much 😊
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
absolutely amazing video :)
Thank you!!! 🥰🥰❤️❤️
thanks a lot, that comparison was much more helpful than the previous 45 minutes of research I spent!
Ah I am so happy that this video was helpful!!!
Thank you soooo much for doing this video :)
Of course!! ❤️❤️ I hope it was helpful!!
You're awesome thank you so much for making my choice so much easier!!!
I am so happy that this video was helpful! Yay!
Thank you for this, very helpful
You are very welcome! I’m so glad you found it helpful!!
Thanks for the info!
I hope it was helpful! ❤️
Good video, going with the one you suggested. Thanks
Yay! I'm so glad it was helpful!
This video was EXACTLY what I needed…super helpful!! I went with the close 2nd Yarkor. Seems a tad more easier to use and clean.
Nabbed the Yarkor as well! It was like $16, I’m excited
I am SO happy that this was helpful!
Thanks I needed this info.
You are so welcome!!
Most people who have the easy tofu press turn it on its side to drain into a container. I just bought the Yarkor and it worked well! Very pleased. Thanks for the vid!
Dang… I need to evolve lol!!! Thank you for the info and I’m glad you like the Yarkor one!! (And the video!)
@@yummyveegs8149 😉 I forgot to mention I like your sense of humor.
@@godofthebiblespeaks3188 aww! You’re so sweet! ☺️
Combining freezing with pressing also makes the texture super dense and meaty, and helps it hold it's shape.
I love your style! It’s kind of like having your neighbor casually describe them over a cup of coffee. You’re so cute in your presentation.
Thank you so much! This is very sweet :)
THANK YOU! 🙂
You are so welcome!
Cool thanks
Regarding the third press, when you tighten down the knobs, you're supposed to set it on its side in a dish to catch the drippage. You don't just leave it sit flat for it to run off.
That makes way more sense! Whoopsies.
Super helpful video! This exactly what I needed. How long did you press it for?
I'm so glad you found it helpful! About 20 minutes!
When you said…come on plant based protein.!! 😂
Hahaha 😅😂 I was struggling 😅😂
I have one like the messy contraption but mine has a tray underneath.
That sounds like the perfect addition to the messy one!! Haha! Do you like it??
The Noya Tofu press has drainage holes. You don't have to open the whole thing in order to drain the water. Also, it would be a better idea to put the EZ Tofu Press in a bow to allow for drainage. Not the best review. Thanks all the same.
Ahh, when I get home I shall investigate the Noya more! Thank you for the information and feedback! :)
The Tofuture costs way less now, and really you are paying for the convenience of the design. Btw you can pour the liquid off on purpose by tilting it, and then put it back in the fridge to let it drain more.
If you put a towel under the tofu in the EZ Tofu Press, it'll help with the leaking and absorb the liquid, so the tofu will lose more.
Thank you!!! I think it definitely would have performed better if I had done that! Whoops 😅😅
@@yummyveegs8149 Thank you for doing this video! I went with something similar to the EZ Press because all the others looked too complicated. I might end up trying one of the presses you reviewed now that I've seen how they work.
I’m so happy you found this video helpful!! 🥰🥰
THis could have been more successful if the instructions were reviewed in advance of using each item
lol yeahhhh you are right. I'm a bit all over the place sometimes. Working on it!
You should’ve had a control where are you? Just put tofu on top of a towel and then put a cast-iron pan on the top
Having a control is a super good idea! Next time :)
One other comment to accurately assess the items it would have been better to use the same brand as formulations of different brands can skew your results
Oh funny. I thought your comment was rather rude till I reread it. I read screwed instead of skewed.
That is a good idea! If I do another one of these I'll def try to do that.
Two plates or chopping boards and a few cans of tomatoes and you have a fine tofu press… $ saved….
I use cheesecloth and my iron skillet.
Absolutely these are options!! I always had issues with them not being perfectly aligned though so often times my tofu would come out a little lop-sided. But you definitely do NOT need a special tofu press to press your tofu.
My tofuture was $23.50. I have no idea why you paid $40 for it.
Whaaaat!!?? Dang haha good to know.
