@@pidjones True. I rode more than 700 miles on my Yamaha Tracer with the stock seat on it. Yes I had to stand up from time to time to get some blood flow going but I still managed to do it.
It wouldn't matter what you rode, all seats feel like a rock after 600 miles. I rode 1200km (~720 miles) in one day, with a passenger and totally loaded up with camping gear on my 1994 Honda ST1100 in 2006. My butt was a bit numb but my passenger never complained. Awesome bike, I rode it twice around Australia after I bought it second hand with 60,000 km on the clock and it's never let me down.

Don’t you just love all the financial advisors telling you how to spend your money? Love the custom look of your bike, but I do agree it will be easier to sell if you pull the wrap. Great video man.
What a horrible seat for a goldwing from the factory... If you end up keeping it I would suggest sending your seat to Bike Solution LLC in Texas for him to modify. He installs foam....something Honda forgot to do...and he maintains all factory water proofing and seat heating functions. All for around $500. There are way more expensive options out there but some you will not be able to use the heated seat function. I found this option Well worth the money.
I know motorcycles don't depreciate like cars but your best bet on selling it is to sell it back to the Honda dealer. Either way you're going to take a hit but the dealer will likely not ding you as hard as an individual. You will need to take the wrap off though.
Audi’s are endless money pits according to Scotty Kilmer. Check out his RUclips channel. He’s been a car mechanic for about 50 years and still working on cars.
The seat would be a deal killer for me too. I make a 11 to 13 hour drive twice a year so I have passed on great cars because of their seats. A bad seat will turn a long drive into a chore.
I agree... I bought a brand new kawasaki voyager in 1988... immediatly put my gf on the back and we set out for Colorado from Houston. by Amarillo my ass hurt so bad... it ruined the rest of the trip... of course now you can buy comfy aftermarket seats that will soothe the long rides a little better... but for me... it's trailer or rent the bikes then ride once I'm at the destination on shorter day trips... no more 600+ mile days on a bike for me..
Wow you didn't have to remove all that stuff, I installed mine by just removing the vent and handbrake to allow enough room to access the loom and fit the plug
No it is, brand new one here, figured it was needing to 'break in' both the seat and our muscles, after the 5th weekend trips away and back to home, we realized the seat was getting even worse and all the rest of our muscles were 100% however our rear ends hurts so much the bike ended up dropped when hitting a bad patch of roads at the end of a stop! This is the worst seat!
That camo won't do squat for you with LIDAR (Laser speed devices.) The only way to cloak yourself against LIDAR is to use a LIDAR blinding system which essentially sends out thousands of beams of infrared laser which prevents the LIDAR gun from being able to work. Basically, it sends a single beam out and gets hundreds back in return, rendering it useless. LIDAR is much easier to "block" than radar. Radar on the other hand, cannot be defeated with just matte finishes. It takes a very specific type of finish AND it has to be coupled with a very specific design of the body of the vehicle. Even then, it can sometimes still be detected. Take a look at the Stealth jets used by the U.S. military. They're all a single color, special paint - that costs big $$$ - and they look like weird geometric concoctions of triangles. Plus, if you've ever seen those white lines painted perpendicular across roadways and highways ... that's for aerial choppers and planes (and sometimes even ground-based patrol units) to simply time you as you cross the lines. If you're at or above a certain time getting from the "start" to the "finish" line, you're doing the speed limit or less. If you're below a certain time crossing the lines - you're speeding and they can calculate your speed based on the time it took your vehicle to cross between the lines. No LIDAR jammer or radar detector (or ugly camo-matte finishes) will help you in those scenarios. Best advice: drive responsibly and safely on public roadways shared by everyone and save driving at high speeds (and racing) for these specially designed roads they make just for such purposes: the track.
Solved this for $439 at Wingsoft for Rider and Passenger. 20,000 miles later, it's still magnificent and I do 1,000 mile days. Or I could sell it. It would be like selling my A7 because I think the rear wing spoiler is silly. Your advice is better on the $20 accessory.
The wrap was terrible. Glad to see it go from your channel and no doubt the first thing the buyer will do is remove it. You have pretty good taste overall, and not sure what you were thinking with that one.
It’s a sad day for the HyperWing. I enjoyed your videos on it. If you end up keeping it, there are some good after market seat companies. Good luck to you!
I've got an '86 Honda 200cc four wheeler if you want it, I'm kidding but I've yet to figure out why that thing runs sometimes very well then just dies and won't run. All new carb, fuel line, fuel valve, ignition coil, CDI, stator and all. Stator and CDI were a bit of a waste of money (CDI issue ended up being an intermittent kill switch of all things) but I got the whole thing pretty cheap. Been thinking valve issues, gotta pull the head soon. Gotta say though Honda makes some quality stuff, everything has been dead simple to work on. Every Honda cruiser and tour bike I've owned had the worst saddles imaginable. It has to be by design to promote aftermarket sales. A real sheepskin seat wrap will eliminate your iron-chafed butt. I've done multiple coast-to-coasts and there's something about that wool that both warms and keeps your behind from losing the proper blood flow. It doesn't have to be a permanent install. It will make you a couple of inches taller.
It costs $40k in Australia, where I could buy a used tesla for $55k. The whole idea of using a bike is often the cost, yet paying $40k is only the begining(insurance, rego, extras..)🤷♂️
For $1K get a Russell Day Long (RDL) seat and you'll never look back. Seems like your an absolute impulse buyer and have no idea what you really want. Spend $25K but not ante up a measly $1K to make it an absolute dream bike? Just wierd logic, if there was any.
Maybe he should just leave distance riding to those of us that actually love the open road. Not for the challenges, but for the freedom. This young man is too caught up with others opinions! Russell seats couldn't help any impatient tweener.
Really surprised that they don't come with at least a USB port or an accessory port as standard, given how much other stuff is packed into this bike out of the factory!
Tip: Dont unwrap it, but do post a picture of how the bike looked before the cammo wrap was done, then the new owner will be able to opt-out of it ;) P.S. No man should have to sell his motorcycle ever - except if buying something better
I don't really know you bro, but somewhat from watching so many of your videos, at least what kind of cars you like to flip, do or don't like to work on (Do: Hondas, Toyotas, Don't: Audi R8) but I did NOT know that you liked things to light up as you approach them. -And yet, already bought a brand new $25k+ Goldwing anyways.
if you want something that hurts try riding an R1 400 miles... never again.. i'll trailer it to the location then ride it and trailer it back.
Pardon me but if something is predrilled and ready to go then why did you have to drill the mounting hole with a step drill ?
He misspoke. You'll notice it says "*marked" each time he says pre drilled
@@krisiunfil I'm just messing with him. Around my house we say if we're not giving you a hard time we don't like you. Lol
A real sheepskin seat wrap will eliminate your iron-chafed butt. I've done multiple coast-to-coasts and there's something about that wool that both warms and keeps your behind from losing the proper blood flow. It doesn't have to be a permanent install. It will make you a couple of inches taller.
Dan Shadoin nah the foam needs changed and reshaped. It’s all wrong.
It costs $40k in Australia, where I could buy a used tesla for $55k. The whole idea of using a bike is often the cost, yet paying $40k is only the begining(insurance, rego, extras..)🤷♂️
An an air hawk for 100 bucks, super comfortable!!!
I freaking knew this Vid was coming the day your bought it.
I planned on having the record set and selling it by now when I bought it. Never wanted it to be long term. 🍻
@@WatchJRGo On a side note glad to see you looking better just now got around to watching the rest of Video hehe
That rap is sick
Wife: who are you on the phone with?
Husband: it’s uh the hypewing
Wife: she sounds hideous
😂 I love it!
Did you break it off with amber
Really surprised that they don't come with at least a USB port or an accessory port as standard, given how much other stuff is packed into this bike out of the factory!
It does have a USB
Good luck selling that camouflage wing. You want to park it by a military base smh.
Title was why you're selling your BRAND NEW Goldwing, but video was about installing a 12volt plug. WTF?
Tip: Dont unwrap it, but do post a picture of how the bike looked before the cammo wrap was done, then the new owner will be able to opt-out of it ;)
P.S. No man should have to sell his motorcycle ever - except if buying something better
Wow! Somebody with a brain in these comments! Lol
I don't really know you bro, but somewhat from watching so many of your videos, at least what kind of cars you like to flip, do or don't like to work on (Do: Hondas, Toyotas, Don't: Audi R8) but I did NOT know that you liked things to light up as you approach them. I can see Amberghini's lights coming on now, as you look for ya'lls seats in the movies. "Is this the row? Oh no, there we are, two rows over, Ambers lights just came on!" LOL!
I have ridden two different sport bikes, Suzuki gizzer 1000 and a Kawasaki ZX10R, over 650 miles in one day on four different trips. Each trip I said never again. Only to realize I had to return home. Your butt can’t get num enough. I have owned 16 bikes over the years. My next bike will be a Gold Wing.
New episode sweet just found out rust bros is now on history channel, and I don't have cable sucks.
Hey JR, would love to hear the full story with the R8. How it broke etc? Love the channel
He bought it like that. One of the first episodes of him owning it, he kinda explains what is wrong with it.
Yet it's still in his garage, C'mon JR get that thing out of there!
Got to sell it before the repoman gets it first.
As always, JR, I wish you nothing but the best. I won't give you my advice on the wrap, since you never asked for it in the first place........
