Autumn is also my favourite season of the year, and the cooler temperatures lend themselves naturally to a world of grey flannel trousers, tweed jackets and trench coats, and felt fedoras and flat caps. At the local thrift shops I frequent, decent quality genuine leather jackets are a dime-a-dozen, and can be purchased for fifty dollars or less. (I agree that pleather is an abomination that will not age well, cannot breathe, and looks cheap from the first wearing.) I favour fragrances in the autumn months with hints of musk, spice, and sandalwood, and agree that scents with prominent citrus and floral notes are better suited to warmer weather. In the autumn, I love to add a tie, a pocket square, or a light scarf to my outfit that reflects the changing colours of the leaves on the trees at this time of the year -browns, oranges, yellows, and reds are the perfect colour palette for September, October, and November, in my opinion.
My friends think I'm nuts for having divided my fragrances into which season I think they are best for. Fall is my favourite season and look forward to more choices in what I can wear.

My best leather tip is buy second hand in spring and early summer when prices are lower, new leather on an man over 40 cries out midlife crisis. Personally I'm old enough to associate perfumes with the lassies. By the time you've treated post-shave skin, waxed your moustaches, and oiled your beard, the last thing you need is another fragrance on top anyway.
Absolutely agree with your sentiments about leather - but as a non-whiskered chp, I consider a fragrance as an integral part of my dressing process, I feel naked without an appropriate fragrance.

Great video -- I've found that white v-neck undershirts tend to be visible through a white dress shirt e.g. at the sleeves. Do you have a suggestion for avoiding this?
Ash, I just bought a few pairs of Tweed trousers in the January Sale. Other than typical country style check shirts, is there any other shirts you recommend pairing them with? i think denim or bright coloured oxfords won't work
I favour simple poplin shirts in base colours with my own tweed collection, possibly augmented by a suitable waistcoat to add interest. Of course, you can never go wrong with a simple white shirt either, which will always look good and cross the boundaries between smart and casual. Good luck.
When talking about under-garments (upper) the vest (like) is correct, so people don't get confused with the Waistcoat (outer garment) I have always known for 50+ years a vest is like a singlet, (under garment)! Or a vest is like a sleveless jumper! But *never ever* a vest referring to a waistcoat!

It is actually a Costco gingham dress shirt - priced at £12. Style does not have to cost the earth. It is indeed tweed-time again!!

@@TheChapsGuide In my bare faced days we didn't need cologne, we had Old Spice. If the stuyptic pencil hadn't fully woken you, the Old Spice would!
Yes leather really has that ability to age a man a lot! Probably Suede or a Tweed jacket is a more flattering option for the 40+.

Try a grey undershirt. You would think it would contrast more then white and white, but it actually does a better job of camouflaging
Try beige or grey v-necks made of thin synthetic moisture-wicking material used in athletic wear.

If it was cold enough. Although if your blazer fits properly, you would not easily fit a jumper underneath.
