Thanks for opening my letter and responding on video! I've been watching every video since I wrote it, I just forgot to comment. my brother also just grew 3 inches so maybe in 8 months he would need a medium
Owners of budget bikes, with less strong chains, can now rejoice as they're finally able to comfortably "sit and spin" to climb hills, instead of standing up and risking a broken chain (and nose, or teeth!) pedalling hard in an inappropriate gear!
I need one of these falcon freewheels and shifter setups for the gf's comp AL. She has trouble on hills and this would help her out. Great episode fellas. Thank you
The reason why not many makes such a large freewheel is because it put a lot stress on the hub (it weights a lot). 4 yrs ago falcon came out with 13-42 9 speed freewheel on the hyper carbon x, explorer HT and FS, it was a big deal. Now they went overboard with this 46T...
Yes !! ❤Finally i think i recomended one of thease rdm900s 2 years ago im so pleased you finally got one it works with shimano 9speed shifters too i put one on my scott aspect and bens gt richochet ❤❤❤❤ i filed down that rivit it catches on it clears 11-50t no problem 46t is the sweet spot for 9 speed 1x tho i would really like to see you try a 165mm crank but thats hard to find on a budget 🎉
Wolfman gets 69 points for the Beastie Boys reference. I just got a 10 speed 12-46 Deore shifter/cassette/derailleur and WTB i30/OR8 rim hub combo rear wheel fro my OG Schwinn Axum...
This is game changing! I have been using a "Mega-Range" for years, on a mid-drive e-bike, just hoping for something with legit range. I'll wait till the price drops but this is a definite upgrade in my future.
Had that m9 groupset a few years ago. The m9 cassette was like $100, and derailleur was like $70 at the time...covid era madness. Works fine, light, clean, and easy shifting.
That freewheel cassette would be very interesting to use on hub drive e-bike since most dont have free hubs. 13-46 is a pretty wide range for a 9 speed.
I didn't even know they made a 9 speed freewheel let alone that size but I can se that being usefull on the old schwinn that most people want to keep the original wheels on
i knew sunrace made cassettes and freewheels but i had no idea they made shifters and derailleurs, damn you learn something new everyday. Also you're correct about the PNW Loam grips, they're great. i use the Loam XL grips which are a bit thicker and I thought I was a skinny grip guy but after using the Loam XL grips and switching out a pair with some Half Nelsons earlier today I couldn't do it I had to put the Loams back on. The Half Nelsons just feel weird after running the thicker Loam XL grips for so long.
I'm putting the exact same gear setup Hub everything on a mooncool 27-in trike it stock 7 speed I'm going to your setup with a 9-speed because the Freewheel that was the biggest I could find which you got right there
I use my 12th gear every time I go riding, but I live in the Pacific Northwest and the ride up to most of the trails I like is a steep pedaling long ride , where 42 is definitely not enough, I have run a 42 before and it was ok , but my 51 tooth 12 spd is way better for the trails around Washington state
Im getting ready to order either the polygon D6SE or polygon D7 full squish bike tomorrow, love your channel ❤ yeesss 1st to comment 🎉❤ i ride a 2024 specialized rockhopper sport now thats only 3 months old and its too big for me large frame at 5ft 9in
Is there a bolt on version of that Derailleur? I put a mega-range free wheel on my daughter's bike with a tourney bolt on derailleur and a 1x narrow/wide chainring crankset. It's a Trail Runner from Walmart that has sentimental value for her so I put some decent double wall rims on it , a 1" Suntour fork, repainted it, new seat and grips, etc. The only problem is it's a bolt on frame that needs a bolt on derailleur. I'm worried about the chain coming off. I'm in the middle of the project right now for Christmas. I would love to do that set up but I guess I'm out of luck with the derailleur??? Any suggestions? Do they make an adapter that works?
"Just look at our cereal boxes". I died.
Doh! Left the dork disk on. LOL Really cool.
So happy to see Mr Wolfman thinner and healthier now.
So happy Wolfman is healthy again. Both of you really

That cassette is a game changer!
For some, this could absolutely make all the difference on a budget bike.👍🏻

That with a 28-30 one by would probably be a great combo on the Al Comp! Thank you for watching and commenting 👍🏻

I'll sell you mine. I upgraded from a 1x9 falcon to an old 3x9 deore. Falcon doesn't suck... but it's freewheel. If freewheel falcon is cheap
The falcon freewheel would be perfect for rear hub ebikes ⚡️💯
I was thinking it would be a perfect replacement for my "Mega-Range" on a mid-drive e-bike.

Nice work on the install. That’s a great range on that too. That bike is coming along well!
MegaRange?
That's a GigaRange!

Haha, I'm glad someone caught that! Just mentioned you on tonight's filming.

Great vid guys.
Happy to see this set up working for you! Can't wait to see it on the trails

About 3 months ago, I bought the same derailleur for my GT Aggressor Pro. I had to use a derailleur hanger to use it.
I've used a 8 speed freewheel 13 to 40t work great.
That looks like a great upgrade. Looking to do something similar on my Ozark Trail Explorer and this looks like it would be a good option.

the orange one is a amazon bike I got from a liquidation warehouse in Queens and the white bike is a lectric xp 3
That's what I said falcon I run one on my fat bike it's great could keep your wheel!
Absolutely!👍🏻
Lookes like ypu put that big freewheel over the little dork disk 😅.
I'm putting the exact same gear setup Hub everything on a mooncool 27-in trike it stock 7 speed I'm going to your setup with a 9-speed because the Freewheel that was the biggest I could find which you got right there
I need that freewheel for the ozark gravel bike. I need two. Where did ya find it
There should be links in the description.
Would be a great upgrade on a Dahon folding bike; most are 7 speed freewheels
I love my ODI Elite Pro grips maybe you can try them out, if you haven’t already
14-34T = Meh-ga Range
13-46T = MEGA Range!
😆 Perfect! 🤣👍🏻

The derailleur rivet does go up into cage

Yeah, you should probably be on a medium. You would probably be happy with either of those bikes.
Acolyte is better less than $40. It works flawlessly with Advent X 11-48T and shifter.

Did you leave the dork disc on? 😂
What you dont really see alot is free wheel thru axles 😂😂
😋
The comp that I got my wife was a 2x7 ,is that comp not ?
Himalo list a 160mm crank+bb for £48 on amazon uk they rave on abut short cranks on gmbn just an idea maby
Take that dork disc off 😂
So instead of spending the extra money on a new rear wheel you could just spin the money on new tools that you'll have forever❤
Good point!👍🏻
Iv been promoted Falcon for years. Iv always got shit talk for trying to promote Falcon.
First!!
🏆🥇👍🏻
141mm boost OLD freewheel axles if not bolt on bend to easy. Freewheels suck.
They sucked when I started riding mtb in 1990. Can't believe they are still used so much. Must be a warehouse with billions of them somewhere😅
Falcon used to be a good brand.
10 speed , 11 by 48 👍....1 by
Acolyte and a Advent X cassette and shifter. Works great.
Sounds good to me!👍🏻
