People have to understand that the culture is slightly different he's opening the biggest Charity Event that means he's the main act. As you say he set's the tone. I don't think some people realise it but it's how we do things in Europe.
The reporter livestreaming before the show was annoyed that most people were there to see j-hope and I think that coloured a lot of people's view of the event.
You're right! When I watched J-Hope's part posted on the internet, I realised that the conducter and the orchestra enjoyed visibly a lot to play with him and it warmed my heart, because the orchestration for these songs was truly beautiful!!! The musicians and the conductor was bobbing his head along, it was so sweet and full of energy.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
JHope, the orchestra and Armies, just took that performance to another level!! It was sensational, can you imagine what the concerts are going to be like.
I feel Hobi opening the gala made more sense as he completely hyped up the crowd to the extent that the entire event was energetic... My cousin who lives in Paris is not an ARMY but just for me she decided to go for this event to see why I am so crazed over all the members of BTS... her feedback is that though the event was managed poorly for handling the crowd but all the artists were great but the memorable one was the one who opened the show as she had no clue which one of them all was a BTS member... when I told her that the one she liked the most was my Hobi she was shocked and it's been 2 days since I am sending her all the links of BTS songs and their individual songs as she is liking all of them more and more and she is on her way of becoming an ARMY as well.
That's the thing... even haters end up liking BTS' songs (if they don't know that they're listening to BTS). Behavioral bias is one of the main reasons why people don't like BTS *UNTIL* they actually listen to their music. We're about to have a new member in our ARMY fandom. Thank you for all of your work! 💜
For me that song was Hobi's clear message to all BTS haters . I was very pleased that he's chosen this particular song instead of just performing his songs entirely. I'm kinda sure that J-Hope was sending message that BTS is stronger than ever and so back!
J-Hope owned the whole show with ARMY. He demonstrated that BTS has only gotten stronger since their solo and MS “break”. ARMY is ready for them like never before - screaming the lyrics in perfect Korean. This wasn’t about the gala for ARMY - it sent a signal to the world and to the members that we are a powerful fandom for an incredible group of men and we aren’t going anywhere!
Mic Drop at the end of Hobi's set was statement of intent and a big FU to the haters as we all know what's been going on since then entered their military duties.
Did you hear the intro the presenter gave jhope. I think he is a fan. He did a wonderful intro. He started by asking if there was one or two people who like K-pop, Welcome a star who just finished military service, making his grand return to the stage, including stating he is one of the best dancers on the K-pop scene, a fashion icon, mega star from the group BTS, it’s his honor. Wow
Loved his performance . . and the addition of the orchestra was WOW. Not surprised he did so well. He has fantastic stage presence and ARMYs did add a lot. I am sure his tour will be out of this world.
I keep whatching his performance again and again. I love how armys sang the entire fanchat perfectly. This shows that despite all what happened in 2024 with all the smear campaigns, army never left. My only concern is that it will be impossible to get a ticket concert 🫠
Yeah, imma need ARMY, scalpers, resellers, casuals, multis, antis, etc. to disappear during pre-sale for BTS's next world tour. Just long enough for me to secure my tickets, pls&ty 🙏
J Hope was amazing. With just 3 songs he got that show off with a bang. He is so talented and humble. Wish I could see the tour but will have to catch another one. Enjoy the show.💜
J Hope with a full Orchestra, Holy $h!tballs! I had no idea I needed that. I want MORE! Opening a show like this is a honor. I saw ever K pop light stick in that show. Made me feel good about the fans. Mainly purple but Big Bang and Blackpink were also singing right along. Don't hate the artists, don't hate fans hate the trouble making media. When more fans understand they are being used by haters, that will go away.
Props to Pierre Bertrand, who does the orchestral arrangements for these acts. He also posts the videos for each individual song on his yt channel, so I rec going there if you want to hear the songs individually and without ads interrupting mid-song.
This performance was phenomenal, this is the first live concert outside of korea for them after military and the way armys showed up and sang bar to bar with him is truly an amazing thing. It boosted his confidence and it shows that armys are always with them.
I think this is his time. The public is more ready for him now. Lollapalooza and his collaborations have helped him in that now more people are paying attention. ARMY is also excited because we are getting close to all 7 being back! I feel that extra bit of excitement. J-hope is such a strong performer and unique artist that he just needs the chance for exposure such as the gala and his talent will do the rest. I’m excited for his journey.
I'm not sure why so many Armys think j-hope was disrespected. The MC gave him a very enthusiastic introduction. The orchestra and stage production were flawless (whoever arranged that orchestral music deserves an award!), he said it was a huge honor to be asked to open the show, the crowd response was insane, the other artists at the curtain call were greeting him/bowing to him/hugging him, and even the First Lady of France came to watch his rehearsal. And he seemed so happy in the livestream afterward. I don't see any evidence of him feeling disrespected by anyone. If the MC forgot to mention his name once, can't we accept it as an oversight instead of calling it disrespect? This performance was out of this world. I would love to know what the other members texted to him after they saw this. They must have been so proud. Great job, j-hope!!!
It is a bs rumour spread to create controversy, i saw a live fancam on 23rd just when the concert was live. The Mc said he s name. Even cried his name Jhope!!!
It kind of started when a famous French magazine wrote article about the gala mentioning every artists performing except jhope, then it happened again and the final blow came on when mc missed his name in first announcement,it took us few min to know that was practise speech and show didn't started yet. Another reason could be the making him open the show, while in many countries main/big events r performed last we didn't know that France hv it in opposite so we first thought they were not giving enough respect to hobi.... it's all sorted out now, just a misunderstanding Loved the stage and arrangements
They think that because the Korean media is telling them he was. Once again K media is trying to start trouble. This time we saw Blackpink and Big Bang light sticks in the crowd cheering and singing along!
@@LPnerd because in Europe most people are multifan. Last year at the show pieces Jaunes was Lisa and Skz and kfans cheering also the other group and you see différent lighsticks.
I do not understand the problem. I watched the official french stream yesterday and as far as I remember on big TV Events like this show … the opening is a big honour. You cannot compare it to just a live concert. It was ment to reach the audience by TV. It was ment to adress the french public to spend money for those who are ill and are in need if money. Like Eurovision song contest or other big European TV Shows … to Open the Show is really big. Did you all see Rosé greating all the fans with Army Bombs? All the lovely Armys who where also rooting for the other musicians? And I loved J Hopes Performance with the orchestra. It sounded so great.
Yes, that's a good point. On a long, televised concert, many viewers won't watch until the end, so the most viewers are probably watching the opening, not the closing.
Yes it's the way we do thing in most countries in Europe the opening act for a Huge Charity Event like this one. The Biggest artist will always open the event they are there to set the tone of the event it's like going into battle with the King/Queen/Emperior leading the charge.
Outside of the fact that Jhope's verse inspired mic drop, I don't think he randomly chose it. I think it was intentional and was done as a statement. There are other BTS songs that he's also influenced. And outside of that, any of the members can sing any of the group songs, they all have a right to sing them and don't need any particular reason more than they want to. So the haters can say anything they want to.
I was there 🥹 Came from Germany to see only him. It was so worth it. I still think about it. Him and Armys together- it’s addictive. When I rewatched the performance 5x yesterday I teared up during mic drop everytime. Cause wow were we loud. We screamed our lungs out for him. I didn’t care how others were looking at me- anything for Hobi 😂😊 But I wanted to make one thing clear. The host was very sweet and those who attended didn’t ever say he disrespected Hobi. Twitter Armys saw some clips and just compared too much. It was unnecessary. There was so disrespect towards anyone. Even if I didn’t understand frech I heard how enthusiastic he announces everyone. I also read the prompter and I some words are similar so I understood some adjectives. And Hobi wasn’t mentioned in The beginning when he listed some arists. BUT he was like name name name and then he already announced Jhopes performance. He hyped the crowd up before recording. And you can all watch how he announced Jhope. Very thoughtful and hyped up words. So armys embarrassed us again with this move. I was really annoyed at that. Always looking for drama. And that he hyped up Rose … yeah why not ?’ Jhope already performed in the beginning.. why would he mention him all the time after that! Wouldn’t make sense. And sadly rose didn’t get the chants that Hobi got. That taeyang and Gdragon also got. So he had to start a chant for her twice. That was a bit sad. Anyway- no disrespect towards Hobi. And just saying: the whole evening was really fun. Some might not want to hear it but I watched BigBang and I get it - they really are great as well. Can’t deny that. And in the end those who attended didn’t care about any fan war. We just sang along and cheered for all of them. (Armys just gave 150% for Hobi 🤭)
I watched the whole thing once it was up on the their RUclips channel as I wanted to see and hear the whole concert. I must say I felt a wee bit sorry for Rosie at first she looked so nervous and she seem to gain confidence once the guy playing the piano gave her a very sweet encouraging smile. I did stay to watch and listen to both members of Big Bang it wasn't to my personal taste but one can't take away from them they did good.
GDragon backtrack for Power was too loud. BB did well too, but they were lacking the choreo because 2nd gen can't dance as well as 3rd gen and up. I started listening to kpop during 2nd gen, and I realize now that 2nd gen choreos weren't as difficult.
I saw a few complaints, but many ARMY jumped right in to correct that garbage. also, beware of haters and media pretending to be ARMY always trying to start trouble.
The opening of a show is a big deal especially when you’ve been especially invited to do so. ❤J-Hope set the tone of the event and nobody forgot who opened that show by the time the show finished…that is guaranteed. He was just mesmerising and he had that entire audience in the palm of his hand. Army made their support felt and people around the world noticed.
I think that a lot of fans had a knee jerk reaction without taking a step back and considering the context. As indicated it is a charity event, but, more than that, it is a charity event operating only in France with a show meant to be broadcasted on the main French public TV channel with the objective to collect funds from people beyond the audience in the arena. K-POP is a niche music genre in France and the audience in the arena was not at all representative of the audience behind their TV. There are French artists who have a very very dedicated fanbase but they were not performing in this show so Armys had nearly no competition to purchase most of the tickets, which resulted in their disproportionate share of the audience in the arena. For the audience in the arena, J-Hope was the biggest star but not for the audience behind their TV. Other artists performing like Gims or Aya Nakamura are mainstream artists in France and would be the main performers for the audience behind the TV. Regarding the host, it was his first time hosting an event. He is not a professional host but an Olympic Judo Champion who accepted to help the Charity by associating his name with the charity and hosting the event. If you take a step back, you realize that this show was a perfect opportunity for the French public, beyond the existing fanbase, to discover K-POP in general, and especially J-Hope.
JHope is not my bias or wrecker but I am so excited to go to his concerts. He is an amazing performer. I think ARMY showed him how much we loved him by selling out his concerts so quickly.💜
The performance with Jhope was flawless. He definitely brought the house down. I think doing the opening set the entire show and doing mic drop as his last song was just to show the world what ARMY is all about and to prepare them for the return of BTS with all 7😊
J Hope was introduced as a megastar. A rapper, producer, dancer, and member of BTS. He WAS ACKNOWLEDGED. I don’t know what they are talking about. Also, who cares who is king of kpop? Aren’t we the one who insisted that BTS IS NOT KPOP and we cheered when J Hope was listed as HIP HOP?
Tbf, we only started saying that bc kpoppies were saying it on a big scale to ostracize ARMY. We just decided to own that and then build on it when media then also kept saying the same. And even more so as a protest to have BTS be put in main award categories when they started making kpop categories.
@@LPnerdyeah BTS is far above Kpop for so long, they proved it with their diversity of solo projects as well! Really excited for the seven to come back together and create the amazing blend with their versatilities again💜
He set such a dynamic mood really, by starting with that song, it felt like a greeting, a request to walk with him!....Then to lift the mood and end with that banger...yeah, he nailed it!!🎉
Our darling Hobi's positive energy was really intense..it filled the whole gala with the connection of our ARMY...I really enjoyed his excellent performance...I can't wait for all the members to finish their service..I know it will be more and more intense when we have all the 7 brothers on stage again😊🎉😊
He did do it well. AND with and orchestra. Props to the orchestra. I don't think any rapper (I might be wrong because I don't follow rappers other than BTS ) has done it with a full orchestra. And watching those orchestra members was so great!
I asked that question and got told a couple of Rapper has used orchestra's and that G -Dragon did it first when he was 19year old don't know if any of this is correct but I'd never heard of a Rapper being able to get a full Orchestra before.
As far as I understand the MC he praised JHope in the Announcement. My french is not the best, I think the MC has done his Job more for the TV Presence than the live audience…
The MC did praised JHOPE quite well. For those who don't know MC is not a professionnal He his french Judo legend Teddy Riner and he did Ok😂 considering it was it's first time on the job but they choosed a king to introduce a king... JHOPE set was insane, ARMY were at their best. It's true that he didn't received the acknoledgement he deserved before and after the show. As a French I really hope that what happened will change the mindset of french medias toward JHOPE and BTS.
Absolutely. The présentation for Jhope was awesome. This is what the MC said : on va accueillir en exclusivité mondiale une star qui vient juste de finir le service militaire. Il fait son grand retour sur scène ici ce soir. Si je vous dis un des meilleurs danseurs de la scène kpop, icône de la mode, méga star du groupe bts. J'ai nommé Jhope!!! Thats what the MC said.
I am ready to watch the live streaming online for the Seoul concert. Cannot afford to travel to the other side of the world, not this time. To All ARMY, in-person or on-line: ENJOY!!!!
I loved how Army, with their bombs & their voices, showed SO MUCH LOVE to J-Hope! After witnessing his performance, I bet katy perry was SOOOO SORRY for even thinking, let alone SAYING what she did about Army at Jingle Ball! #ArmyProud
Jhope performs not alone his responsibility to represent the BTS and he did great magnificent, a very good move to open for a show we didn't know existed until jhope performed. Test run for EUR army so don't be saddened for sure they will include your country on Hope on the Stage.
Stop with this fake news about him not being respected or whatever. I was at the concert and I want to say.... Look at that, almost everyone was there for him and the organisation, the MC was top notch with him. It was crazy! The perfect comeback! And god this orchestra!!
I watched every ARMY shorts and videos that came up on my feed including the one from a french tv feed. I honestly think Hobi and his team had this all strategically planned with the songs...while channeling the other 6 members. I love the iconic Suga mic drop. A total FU plus 2 middle fingers to all the damn users, haters, and wannabes. Wow! I just realized this may have been my baptism into the purple ARMY. 💜💜💜 PS: i can't stop re-watching the videos which i saved as a playlist. Gotta learn my Korean language. Time to pull outvghe Rosetta Stone. 😂
I love Hobi’s performance in Paris. Everything is phenominal from his aura, stage presence, performance, fashion, orchestra accompaniment to Armys fanchants. Its was like a BTS concert. I agree too that he should’ve closed the show but it does not matter now since it’s a charity event.
No in these type's of events the main act opens the event with a bang it's the way most huge Charity Events are done in most of Europe. So he was given the honour.
@eileencritchley4630 eh c'mmon stop dellusing yourself. That organizer made huge flop. Luckily, this flop couldn't damage Hobi. He's just too good and that audience, majority of it, was there for him.
@ What I'm talking about J Hope opened the Gala with a big bang as the main act which is normal for a gala for a huge high profile person eg the Wife of the French Prime Minister's it her Charity. It's extremely high profile charity fun draiser event. The event went well it went off with a bang as with J Hope being the main therefore first act. Have you never been to one of these types of events I've been to a few in the UK. The organiser didn't 'make a flop'. Don't insult the French Government, and the Charity. Army did great managing to get all those tickets but you know what we ARMY are like we are well organised.
@eileencritchley4630 I'm not insulting anyone and ofc I was on such events before. 1st lady is not responsible, she wasn't organising this event by herself. And Blankpink Rosie was being pushed down to everyonesthroat which was really weird due to the fact that Hobi, GD and Taeyoung are much bigger act than she is. Live media coverage from event itself was also heavily biased toward Rose. Anyway, what is, is# however I am glad that Armys did pay attention to these important "details" and let organisers know that they flopped in proteging Rose against Hobi and GD. That was, mildly said, ridicolous. What is important now is that we clearly know that Hobi's concerts in Europe will probably be sold out and that European market is hungry for his presence.European markets are mainly very different from Korean that mirrors everything that happens or is popular in the USA due to their lack of cultural self awarness. Europe never just mirrored American trends. On the contrary. It was Europe that gave to world The Beatles, Rolling stones or Radiohead# it was Europe that "developed" pop that became American trademark later, it was Europe that gave to world punk, hardcore and many heavy metal genresk and so on. Markets are different, they don't neccessarily give af who is most popular in USA. Taylor Sft is nowhere nr. 1 in Europe, for example.Nor are European markets alike, they are national markets. France with it's own thing, Italy with it's own, Germany with it's own, Scandinavia or UK with its own, and so on. I'm freaking proud that such independent and generic markets love Hobi. Army is truly a global force. And that was demonstrated on that charity event.
As others have said, I am also shocked by some of ARMY's reaction to the show. Maybe it is a cultural thing I am going to be generous and put the behaviour down to that and not to being toxic. In Europe at least it is a massive honour to be asked to open any show but even more so a show of this scale. Also I speak fluent French and there was no disrespect from the MC. I do worry that this type of fan behaviour does a diservice to BTS and their members and shines a poor light on ARMY. I know we are all traumatised by the treatment BTS got in the past in S Korea but do not let that cloud the honours bestowed on them elsewhere. As ARMY we should protect the members but let's get our facts right. It was a great show.
hmm it's not exactly this, they positioned J-Hope as what we in Europe call "a pre-group", and job of pre-group is to prepare the audience for main star's concert. It WAS disrespectful. Big time. Also, they gave Hobi only 3 songs - Big bang (Teayoung and G-Dragon had 4 or 5, same with Rose. To use member of biggest boyband act on world as a pre-group to BigBang or BP member, was realy ugly thing to do. But as crowd cheared also Taeyoung's name (and Rose's) we could all se huge difference: there was no loud singing on their songs while with J-Hope they sang whole Micdrop also in Korean! I think this says it all. Also, when all artists came on stage at the end, crowd was cheering J-Hope's name! It must have been a bit embarassing for BigBang aka GD who try position himself (and BigBang) as korean nr. 1 singer ( and BigBang as band nr. 1) on global scale. Which is far from truth. I will never accept a less than full due respect to Hobi and our boys. How would you feel if for example Michael Jackso would be a pre-group to, I don't know, Coldplay? It wouldn't feel right, would it?
That’s just not true. He a wasn’t meant as a pre group. Why would we phrase it that way? Those of us who were didn’t think about this one moment. He had three songs and so did most of the others artists. They all had around 10 minutes. Rose had 3 songs too. Taeyang 1 , GD 1 and together 2. So what ? And honestly - your words aren’t humble at all. They are filled with arrogance. Jhope would never see himself like you phrased it. As if he’s someone better. He’s OUR favorite person and our world resolves around them. True. But the world doesn’t owe BTS anything. BTS will show everyone how great they are and convince them. But we can’t force them on people.
I 100% agree with you. The host was sweet and he announced everyone so nicely. Welcoming. There was never an ounce of disrespect. Armys just want drama sometimes.
@jesss757 he was de facto in function of a pre-group. I phrased it this way because this is what happenned. I am from Europe (France is couple of hours of drive away through Italy) and sorry, first one that opens concert is NEVER EVER main event. As I explained. Hobi, because of his talent, made himself sensation of night and showed middle finger to deliberatelly - or not - clueless organisers. Please note that in France and most part of Europe kpop isn't as big thing (afro bit and french music is a thing there) as it is in the USA. (Nor are American singers as popular as domestic, Taylor Swift is in France nothing in comparison to Aya Nakamura). So I allow assumption that organisers were just looking on charts and weren't aware that Hobi is biggest of anyone that was invited from Korea to perform, due to 2 years hiatus of BTS and due to fact that he released solo album two years ago and this album isn't on charts right now. Rose is curently popular with ATP and G-Dragon with Power 2x. You saw that audience didn't sing on other Rose's song than APT and when it comes to GD they sang on Power 2x, not even on Bad boy. It was fking disrespectful toward Hobi. However, he got orchestra (thanks to arrangements by mr. Bertrand) which make his performance something extraordinary and unseen. At least I never saw simphonic orchestra playing rap lol. I don't know, btw who came with idea that performing first is the biggest honour in Europe? The one who said this made it up. JHope is 1. humble 2. it was charity event 3. He was testing French market with that performance for future performances. So yes, JHope had no reason to see it like this, for him it was great oportunity to test European markets through French one, that he'd test anyway, this or that way. However, I am Army, my position is different from Hobi's when it comes to how he and other BTS boys are being treated, and I saw what I saw. And excuse me, these french organisers have to respect my boy. They HAVE TO. Btw, I became Army because of Hobi, after hearing his J in the box two or so years ago. JHope is untouchable to me, and so are OT7. I'm freaking sensitive when my boy isn't treated with respect he deserves. It pissess me off.
Why am I sitting here with tears running down my face? The wait is almost over but tbf.. they have given us and are STILL giving us so much. In all my many years, I've never ever heard of an artist.. let alone a whole group, together & individually .. give so much to their fans. They are so bright together and apart that they outshine the moon and the stars at times.. not to mention that we have our own moon, Jin, & sun, Hobi. I won't be able to attend any concerts to see our Hobi but my heart will be there with every ARMY who goes and loves it and with those ARMYs who can share their experience. My heart is full. Thank you to all the ARMYs who welcomed Hobi back. Borahae BTS & ARMY 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💗
It was a charity event, not a show where there is a pre-show as a warm-up, then the main performance. He was asked to open the event in order to set the tone, which he did. He got a respectful introduction, and his performance hyped up the crowd. Mission accomplished. The fact that a live orchestra backed him up was a genius idea. It gave weight to the importance of hip hop/rap/k-pop in music history. We ARE witnessing history with BTS.
Hobi gave an epic performance! He was truly the star of the show! Runners up were ARMY and the orchestra! I could feel the energy and fanchant through the screen when I watched the video! Amazing!!!🤩
I think out of everybody else involved at the event, it's the orchestra that won my heart. Hobi, the orchestra and ARMY were so passionate and in sync, it's just magical! Of course Hobi was going to have the crowd wrapped around his finger. It's j-hope! I can't stop thinking about it. 😭
I was there, pretty close to the stage. Sadly I couldn't see him but I felt him, heard him. It was amazing. Now I have a renewed crush on him. What a talent he is! 🥰💜
Excellent video. Yes who cares, exactly right, Jhope is Awesome! He owned that Paris event., nobody could honesty deny that. Paris belonged to JHope that day!! Thank you for excellent info, to- the point facts, (and you looked pretty). Jhope will as he always does prove them all wrong. They have no clue what's in that man/artist!❤ ❤
I bet roach mama felt nauseous after watching the Paris gala videos. Because she failed to bring down BTS. The fan chant was so moving and proved all the haters are irrelevant
For sure. Despite all the smear campaign they did against Hybe and BTS? I hope she’ll understod a little bit that its hopeless whatever bad schemes she’s planning to do in the future.😅
The best was jhope confidence. Army’s presence. The orchestra bobbing their heads. The conductor letting loose. Great job! I believe that any of the 7 walking on that stage would have caused the same reaction. It showed kpop ignites with the site of bts! Take notice haters! They will always dominate! Way to go jhope, you are amazing!
The fan chant at the start of mic drop made me emotional. Europeans rapping and singing in Korean. He definitely owned this event. Thank you European ARMY for showing up for him.
I love Jhope and this was an amazing, epic performance!! One thing you said that I am confused about. Yes, he was singing/rapping live but there most certainly was a backing track.
Ohhh I can’t stop rewatching fancams and the tv version. It was insanely good and the orchestra version of more was majestic. but I was really pissed because of how the organisers handled everything because it’s was very clear what their agenda was. But now they know
JHope doesn’t need an introduction! Everyone there knew who he was when he stepped out on the stage! I don’t think anybody was intentionally being rude.
Yes...to make the "opening" of a gala or a ceremony in France is an honor!! I couldn't go but the broadcast gave me chills and before seeing Jhope... the little whistle of "On the Street" had already put ARMYs in a trance!! There have been more than 20 million searches on Google since the gala just on Jhope! that's a record absolute!! France lived up to its talent and Pierre Bertand's orchestra transcended its 3 songs and especially "Mic Drop"!! The last seconds were insane!! ...The only thing that bothered me was that the FranceTv production allowed itself to "remix" the gala by making the whole world write that it was Katy Perry who had opened the gala.....I had the impression that they were afraid that the ARMYs would leave the viewing after seeing J hope...which is not wrong because the audience dropped sharply after her performance!! It was a very beautiful gala and J hope gave everything so that her performance would make history!! Proud of her, proud to be a French ARMY!!! MERCI Jhope !! GRAND ARTISTE !!
I find hobi / Bangtan to be very discerning. Ending his Paris set with Mic Drop felt like a reminder to those dumb enough to need it, imo. I can't speak about what happened after hobi's performance but the hype man seemed to do his job with hobi's intro. Hobi, and ARMYs, delivered I think. I can't wait to see his tour performance 😉💜😊
I can't wait for his concert! Lol now I know why he wears glasses, cause he can't hide his thoughts 😂 I love him so much! JHope is a beautiful gift to us! 💜😊
I can understand there being some confusion with the time slot he got for the show, I had an initial reaction as well but I think I've gotten too use to the way Korean awards shows operate they do the biggest artists at the finale of the show but in the US for awards shows that's actually the least desirable time slot doing 10 or 11pm or later because a Award show expects people to start tuning out to go to bed so many gp don't stay for the ending of the show they have less chance of visibility for new potential fans. 7-9pm is where they usually put the biggest stars. Tho I think the Grammy's figured out army show up for bts, they might have even figured out that in Korea doing the closing is considered an honor & they'd get ratings so they took advantage of this knowing if we knew they were going to be one of the last performances we'd only tune in for the end so they kept teasing them performing next for the whole show so we'd watch the whole thing. The guys may have thought Grammy's was doing them a great honor like in Korea by putting them toward the end but us US army were aware that isn't how US award shows usually operate. Different countries have their own way of doing things so maybe it's different in France. I think having the presidents wife request for him to open it makes it feel like a bigger honor But I will tell you that many army mentioned that the on National French Television Broadcast the show aired completely changing up the line up in editing and J-Hope did not perform first on TV tho he did in reality (on the youtube video they have it how they filmed it but for TV they changed it) they placed him somewhere in the middle many of the french army were talking about this on X when it happened.
My only complaint about the show was that it seemed like his mic needed to be turned up. Even the French TV version of the show he was very easy to hear. I watch multiple posts trying to see if it was just the audience drowning him out or not. Only part of the show I watched, so not sure if the other performers were louder.
At first, I was getting triggered by these claims of j-hope being disrespected which was incredible to believe when he was personally invited by First Lady. But seeing his performance, the vibe and energy level of the crowd, I no longer care if it’s true or not that there were those among the organisers or interviewers who had intended to disrespect him because it’s pretty clear that j-hope owned that stage and audience. Some may say he’s just the opening act, the warm-up, the hype performance for the later so-called main performers … even if true, j-hope had set the bar so high, others probably felt pressured to live up to it. The interaction between j-hope and Army reminded me of my concert experience (only the PTD LV ones) where it’s not just about attending an event as a member of the audience watching a performance. With the Army bombs changing colours, and singalong, fanchants, Army is part of the performance! Which is what happened here. I saw that GD+Taeyang and Rosé had a back up band, and some argued that they had better back up but I agree that by performing alone majority of the time, j-hope cemented his prowess as an artist, a performer who doesn’t require so much gimmicks. And without use of back up band, he allowed for the orchestra to do its job of accompanying him. And accompanied him really well, the orchestra certainly did. His talents and stage presence were on full display, as clear as day. So to those who keep trying to minimise j-hope’s impact, go ahead, stay in denial. j-hope isn’t my bias or even bias-wrecker, but I remembered when seeing him live in concert and during sound check, he has that stage presence, that a lil extra something, connection with audience, to Army which I definitely cannot deny! I’m psyching up waiting for details of tickets sales for Asian leg of his tour! Let’s gooooooo, c’est parti …… j-hooooope!!
As someone who attended the gala, I would like to give my 2 cents… I see some people online saying J-Hope was « barely announced », this is not true, the MC gave him a great introduction. And sometime after his set, the MC said « how was it with J-Hope ? », which got the whole crowd to cheer super loud - so Hobi was acknowledged after his performance too. It was a charity concert, not a BTS event, and after each artist, the MC had to introduce another… he couldn’t just focus on J-Hope in my opinion. As for Hobi opening the show… I also attended last year’s gala, and the opening act was Maroon 5. At the time, I thought « wow, starting off with a bang ». This year, they chose J-Hope… I personally thought it was an honor, and a way to start off strong, just like last year. J-Hope’s performance was exceptional, and he was accompanied by the orchestra on all 3 songs, which was awesome. Army did amazing with the cheers, fanchant, and sing along. I personally didn’t see or feel any disrespect, just happiness all around, and it looks like J-Hope enjoyed it as well.
💜🩷🎼 Hello everyone, I was lucky enough to be there and the atmosphere was amazing 🎉. When JHope arrived it was crazy! 🤩 It is an honor to sing in 1st and the songs chosen were adapted and they were very well performed despite ´the noise' 😂👍. Thank you to JHope for his presence 🤟💜🩷🎼. And thank you to V for his photobook Révé 🤟💜🩷🎼. 🇫🇷😘. And see you soon at the concert! 🎵 Yes, everything is ready here! 😂✅💜🩷🇫🇷😘. 🇫🇷😘. Et à très vite au concert ! 🎵 Yes, ici tout est prêt ! 😂✅💜🩷🇫🇷😘😘😘😘
Interesting. Thank you.
I felt the orchestra also seemed to really enjoy performing with Hobi. I used to play in an orchestra. The energy they gave to Hobi was spectacular.
Yes! I loved, loved ,loved that there was an orchestra!
That was awesome! I hope they use one when the 7 go on tour!!!!!💜
That’s true.
I hope she becomes a new ARMY. 😊
I don't want to give any credit to this woman, but it was a good idea that she asked Hobi to open.
🐨🐹🐱🐿🐥🐯🐰‼
Excellent bravo well done I'm glad you didn't forewarn her so she came to her own conclusion it's so much more wonderful that way.
When I heard Mic Drop I felt it was also a message that BTS will return. Jhope killed this performance with all three of those carefully chosen songs
For me that song was Hobi's clear message to all BTS haters . I was very pleased that he's chosen this particular song instead of just performing his songs entirely. I'm kinda sure that J-Hope was sending message that BTS is stronger than ever and so back!
YES! A bat signal.❤
Tone down the superiority complex.
Wow
ty. I didn't get to hear any of that....awesome!!
Loved his performance . . and the addition of the orchestra was WOW. Not surprised he did so well. He has fantastic stage presence and ARMYs did add a lot. I am sure his tour will be out of this world.
Can we applaud the orchestra who adapted so well to Hobi's songs.....I can only think they must have been having a blast!
His performance was ICONIC. It was absolutely amazing. His choices were perfect.
I keep whatching his performance again and again. I love how armys sang the entire fanchat perfectly. This shows that despite all what happened in 2024 with all the smear campaigns, army never left. My only concern is that it will be impossible to get a ticket concert 🫠
I totally agree !!
Yeah, imma need ARMY, scalpers, resellers, casuals, multis, antis, etc. to disappear during pre-sale for BTS's next world tour. Just long enough for me to secure my tickets, pls&ty 🙏
Edit: antis and scalpers can disappear forever, tho
I was so emotional when I watched it. Im so glad I bought a ticket to see him. I couldnt let it pass. He did amazing
@@em5522 oh thank you do you have the link to the channel?
@eileencritchley4630 yt won't let me link but his name is his channel's name.
@ thank you! I'll run right there, LOL.
This performance was phenomenal, this is the first live concert outside of korea for them after military and the way armys showed up and sang bar to bar with him is truly an amazing thing. It boosted his confidence and it shows that armys are always with them.
If you're a great performer opening or closing the show is not important. You love what you do, nothIng matters and ARMY were there to cheer Jhope.
It is an honor to open the Paris gala.
Yes it is a huge amazing honour.
He did not forgot, he cried it.
It kind of started when a famous French magazine wrote article about the gala mentioning every artists performing except jhope, then it happened again and the final blow came on when mc missed his name in first announcement,it took us few min to know that was practise speech and show didn't started yet. Another reason could be the making him open the show, while in many countries main/big events r performed last we didn't know that France hv it in opposite so we first thought they were not giving enough respect to hobi.... it's all sorted out now, just a misunderstanding
Loved the stage and arrangements
@@mariellehwang2269absolutely, the show was 2.22 hours. You dont put the gem at the end!!!
And here I was thinking it was because it had a French word in it
@@niniruffles856 tbf, I can see this as a valid argument. Calling sm1 a tasteless ratatouille sounds genuinely French.
I didn’t care how others were looking at me- anything for Hobi 😂😊
But I wanted to make one thing clear.
You guys were amazing! 😭
They were still chanting his name after the show.
J hope is amazing 👏🏿 I love to see him perform live! Let the haters keep hating. They can take they wet blanket somewhere else.😅
I was really surprised that the audience male and female were singing along MicDrop with Jhope😂💜🥰
I feel the message of the first song set the tone for the occasion. It was perfect for me.
J-Hope has this synergy that vibrates throughout, it creates an atmosphere that feels magnetic especially when he perform mic drop!!
The performance with Jhope was flawless. He definitely brought the house down. I think doing the opening set the entire show and doing mic drop as his last song was just to show the world what ARMY is all about and to prepare them for the return of BTS with all 7😊
Yess so well said, thank you!
Who cares who is king of kpop. Jhope is the ROCK STAR OF BTS
BTS is not K Pop, so who really does care. BTS is BTS, period.
Mic drop it means so much like so much .
He did do it well. AND with and orchestra. Props to the orchestra. I don't think any rapper (I might be wrong because I don't follow rappers other than BTS ) has done it with a full orchestra. And watching those orchestra members was so great!
AGREE, I'd like MORE of that.
@doctordonna9882 see aboie the Mc words.
@ than I understood correctly 🥰 thanks
@@doctordonna9882 imagine that some people launched a stupid Bs controversy telling the Mc did not mention the name , he cried it.
I am ready to watch the live streaming online for the Seoul concert. Cannot afford to travel to the other side of the world, not this time. To All ARMY, in-person or on-line: ENJOY!!!!
@silviabertozzi7996 good idea😊
I loved how Army, with their bombs & their voices, showed SO MUCH LOVE to J-Hope! After witnessing his performance, I bet katy perry was SOOOO SORRY for even thinking, let alone SAYING what she did about Army at Jingle Ball! #ArmyProud
He had a long introduction full of praises before his performance by a French guy. In the fancam not in the officiel vid.

👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Hobi we are very proud of you! BTS FOREVER!
Jhope just said BTS is 7... Suck it❤
Jhope performs not alone his responsibility to represent the BTS and he did great magnificent, a very good move to open for a show we didn't know existed until jhope performed.
PS: i can't stop re-watching the videos which i saved as a playlist.
I absolutely adore J'Hope's fashion choices! My boy looked gorgeous in that outfit!
I agree with everything you said, and he looks great too, I loved his outfit - but he always looks great.
If I remember correctly JHope was given a really nice introduction before he performed in French by the MC. Army's were pretty loud to hear it 😊💜
As others have said, I am also shocked by some of ARMY's reaction to the show.
What a load of nonsense, I am sure J Hope and the rest of BTS will not agree with your crap.
I heard that the First Lady requested Mic Drop. At the end of the show, she straight up kissed J-Hope on the neck😮
Hobi gave an epic performance! He was truly the star of the show! Runners up were ARMY and the orchestra! I could feel the energy and fanchant through the screen when I watched the video! Amazing!!!🤩
J-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOPE.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I am in aww how he performed without being able to hear
He said that he could see the conductor!
I always enjoy your analysis.
I secured a ticket for Brooklyn and I am so beside myself with excitement. J-Hope is such force! And he will give his all for Army. I can hardly wait.
His lollapalooza performance was magical. Im.looking forward to JHope Concert in TX
I loved your videos! I am so ready for my Sun.
Truer words have never been spoken
Ohhh I can’t stop rewatching fancams and the tv version. It was insanely good and the orchestra version of more was majestic. but I was really pissed because of how the organisers handled everything because it’s was very clear what their agenda was. But now they know
Disfruten los que puedan asistir a sus conciertos y denle mucho amor y demuestren que ARMY siempre ha estado y estará para ellos...💜💜💜💜💜💜💜😊
Guys please stream Jin's OST Close to you! He deserves it!
Very well said!
💜💜💜J-Hope killed it! 💜ARMY showed up 💜💜💜
JHope doesn’t need an introduction! Everyone there knew who he was when he stepped out on the stage! I don’t think anybody was intentionally being rude.
So so proud of Hobi and so proud to be an ARMY 🥰💜 Counting the days till they're all together...Haters..start shaking in your boots 🤗😏
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍💜
You gained one subscriber girl, loved your video.
His nose looks different.
Is he releasing a new album in March or just a song?
No official word yet but my bet is an album. Pure speculation
70% of the audience was us French Armys we came from all corners of France 😂😂we also contributed 13000euros donations for les piece jaunes.
I think the show should have given HOBI 15 minutes instead of 3 songs.
Not enough :'( Too short.
