  • If you pay attention to you or others shoot, you tend to see that their wrist is floppy... well that's the obvious...but some players wrists are even more floppier than others, is there a specific reason or advantage to that? Click the video to find out :)

    Really depends on the situation, sometimes you need stiff wrist release when in the mid range, but you must need soft wrist release in the 3 point area otherwise your shooting arc will be not high enough, and it will either air ball or hit the front rim

      @@JezPhipps I’ve experienced a lot of times, not just my wrist but my right shoulder is also sore as well so I didn’t shoot 3 pointer really well, as most 3v3 game are rely on mid range pull up or floater

      That’s big cap. You don’t absolutely need it. I shoot from everywhere on the court with a “non floppy” wrist and there’s nothing wrong with it, it just helps my consistency because I’m able to repeat the exact same motion every time

  • @lukerobinson2893
    @lukerobinson2893 3 года назад +24

    I used to have a tight wrist and my index finger would be the only one that would snap down. But as years of me working on my form have progressed and I can make over 50 percent of my 3s consistently I have noticed that being a relaxed shooter is the best way to do that. Including have a very floppy wrist. The floppy wrist takes lots of time to development, but it means that you are putting less strain on your follow through, and there is a lot more force in your shot.

    • @prien2348

      Did u just try to keep shooting with a floppy rist to practice it?

    • @lukerobinson2893
      @lukerobinson2893 2 года назад +2

      @@prien2348 you can practice throughout the day you don’t even need a ball. If you just practice snapping your wrist down it should be floppy.

    Hey jp I have a question so for a one motion shooter like for me when I hit my eye is it okay for the ball to be close like that and now when I shoot since I’m now a one motion shooter I don’t have a set point I remember in one of your vids u were saying that one motion shooters don’t have a set point I just wanna make sure I’m doing it right and also I shoot one the way up like I don’t hit my set point and shoot it forward I just shoot with not hitch

    • @TheRoadLessChosen
      @TheRoadLessChosen 7 месяцев назад

      Everyone has a set point. One motion means it’s fluid and no noticeable pause in the shot.

    I think its not about floppy wrist but having a soft hand and not trying to palm the ball. that eliminates tension in your fingers and forearm and in theory allows you to flick your wrist stronger and faster

    I’m 6’10” and can shot as well as a guard. I was taught by a pro how to shoot and I’ve molded it into my own style of shooting for my personality. I think that plays a huge role in how you shoot. Are you a person that gets emotional east? Are you over aggressive? Etc etc
