    Yes, I am 63 years old and really use the same warm ups for Kali stick work outs as I do for any other work out (weights, boxing, TKD, or even just chasing my dog around).
    These warm ups are great all around starters! Thanks for asking!

      I go through the motions and stikes with 10 pound rubber dumbells, it really builds up the Kali muscles. Then when I practice with sticks or blades, it's so much easier and faster, and I can do it for longer

    Paul, many thanks for another one of your excellent and informative videos. Paul, I really enjoy practicing Kali and how you are able to logically integrate the didactical teachings of Kali as you parallel those teachings with the clinical aspect thru " Drills / Hand to Hand Combat / Weapons Training " in a real time scenario of workouts that you instill in me. Paul, please keep them coming along.

    I enjoy your videos. They have been very informative. However I just watched a video on Kali in the Philippines. In this video I saw body throws, arm / joint locks as well as disarming moves. These seemed most intriguing and want to learn more. I have been practicing at home during the pandemic as much as possible. But I thirst for more Kali hand to hand. Please and thank you.

    Once again thanks for all of your content Paul! It's really helped keep me motivated in my training throughout all of this craziness that we currently live in. Could you put up some more empty hand videos? I've really enjoyed the ones you've done with blocks/entries and combos with footwork. Kind of like empty hand short forms.

    I would love to see some comparisons with what you teach to what some other popular FMA schools/teachers might teach. You could discuss some points of departure, where you decided (or not) to deviate from what you learned in your own journey. The reason being so students could better navigate through the world of FMA, as convoluted and complex as it is. Hope that makes sense. Thanks as always!

    Great video, Paul!
    I'd like to ask you a question. I always try to mirror those one hand techniques also with my left hand. Naturally, the angles reverse (1 becomes 2, 3 becomes 4). Is that correct? Naturally I wold use a weapon in my right hand, but I think it's important to train the weaker side

    • @stevenshreckengost6462
      @stevenshreckengost6462 3 года назад +1

      The angles stay the same numbers for the left side, because left handed people would defend, with their strong side, the left hand, but yes, it does mirror your own right side, too mirror their right, it would be backhand against forehand.

    • @mrbilly6274
      @mrbilly6274 3 года назад

      No, the angles numbering stay the same

    • @laperrablanca1
      @laperrablanca1 3 года назад +1

      @@mrbilly6274 You're right, the numbers stay the same, what I meant is that a 1 2 3 4 sequence will be a 2 1 4 3 with the left hand.

    • @kalicenter
      @kalicenter  3 года назад +1

      Right and angle 1 is over the right should. Left hand angle 1 is over the left shoulder. They numbered due to the order of attack at both long range and short range.
