It's got me f'd why you guys aren't more popular, this is by far the most entertaining YT content in the category of "Not fwits called 24/7". Love your work. Please keep it up.
Cheers mate! Yeh we've been doing shorts between all our YT videos and it has helped. Have done a few tiktoks (cringe.. 😂) but probably need to focus more on it than we currently do
I do the Wenlock float every year, since 2010 and we are doing the Frenchman's to Moreton stretch for the first time later this year. We now know what we are in for. Great trip lads and great video. Wardy
Thanks mate, yeah we watched a few of your vids and they are great! We hadn’t really heard of anyone going from Frenchman’s though, I think we we went the level was 2.45m at Moreton from memory, we had a lot of sections where we had to get out of the boat as we were bottoming out. So I would say at least a couple of hundred mm higher would be ideal.
@@TrueNorthAdventures Ow bugger. We booked our leave from work so we can do the trip very late. July actually. Lots of walking for us as I imagine the river at Moreton will be low 2 metre mark. Ow well,,,, see how we go. Its all part of the adventure. Love the videos mate. Wady.
Yeah now you have me questioning if my memory of the height was correct?? We did the float in late august if you can find any data on the level it was then?
@@TrueNorthAdventures Awesome. You've just made my day. Phew. I was more concerned about the drop over the rapids but August would have been 2m or even lower. We did Moreton to Billy's Lagoon last year and went way too early. Great trip but worst fishing we have ever had on the Wenlock cause the river was running too quick. We went at 3.6m. Can't wait for this year's trip. My wife is coming for the first time ever. She's hilarious so should be a bit of fun.
Yeh it was great fishing! We’ve seen bigger all crocs as we float down the Wenlock. They’re definitely there and we see heaps of slides but I think we spook them long before we get a chance to see them.
Great episode as always blokes as a local to Mareeba your footage has shown many places we have got to visit cause your footage hope to catch use out there one day always good for a laugh over some beers cheers lads 🍻🎣
Ripper of a Trip in an incredible part of the Cape, little trick to keep you warm at night, dig a trench (I know, Builders curse with no Digger) same size as your mattress, few shovels of hot coals off the fire, then cover it with sand, at least 100mm, and instant toasty as. Don’t over do it with the hot coals but, you could end up looking like a burnt thong! Lucky Survival sponsor you, Great stuff as always lads!
@@TrueNorthAdventures yep, I learnt the hard way, you only do that once, but if your willing to sleep on the ground looking like a mouldy kebab, well, why not present yourself medium rare to a Croc!
Yeh the crocs are a real threat... but if you're smart about it then it is fairly safe. No getting in the water unless its shallow, crystal clear and you're all on the lookout. Similar issue at camp. Camp up away from the edge and pick a spot that has a steep high bank at the waters edge. We go over all this in a bit of detail in the next episode 👍
I subscribed, just to say, content was okay but, where’s the crocs, mud crabs, spearfishing big trout and blueys, I hope you didn’t leave ya jobs or ya women, or….maybe yous are rich fellas, you are in North Queensland? So my point is pick up the game, give us something us Queenslanders can relate too
Ok wow cheers for the subscription. I will fair stick it to the camera guy for missing all that stuff you want. But you never know maybe it’s in the next ep?
Bit of a long story there... but to summarise, born in Newcastle, but grew up in Canberra and was a big Mal Meninga fan hence the QLD supporter thing.. But in saying that the xxxx shorts were a sore point of the trip... They should have been Coral Sea shorts and I only took one pair on the float with me 🤦♂️
It's got me f'd why you guys aren't more popular, this is by far the most entertaining YT content in the category of "Not fwits called 24/7".

Thanks mate!!! Really appreciate it 🙌
@@TrueNorthAdventures Just a suggestion - do some YT shorts and (much as I hate to say it) TicToc content, worked for "The Why Files" channel.

Geez already miss your misadventures I’ve had to resort to repeats! Please don’t let us suffer too long!
Haha, it's definitely not the worst thing to be doing!! We have a new members-only chat coming out this arvo that should fill the void 🙌

Cheers mate, and no one had to die on our trip… or did they? 😂
Love that section, haven’t been there for a few years now though. Seen a big croc at those first set of rapids walking the bank
