      @w-james9277 7 лет назад +11

      iduddzfantv Not in the older Top Gear it wasn't. There were some scenes which were scripted but GT took it to a whole new level which defiantly affected by enjoyment of the program.

    • @ejkk9513
      @ejkk9513 7 лет назад +5

      W-James No, he is right everything on T.V that is defined as a show is scripted and always has been.. you can't possibly expect a studio to give you 200 million dollars and let you film it without a script. They need to know where all that money is going. I'm a fan of the Grand Tour because it has the chemistry, humor and amazing car visuals.

    • @florianmaniglier7907
      @florianmaniglier7907 7 лет назад +4

      Top Gear was always scripted, they even joked a lot about it when they won an emmy awards for "Best non-scripted TV Show". New Top gear isn't awful (thank god they got rid of Evans) but it's a lot less fun, a lot less unexpected, more factual.
      The Grand Tour is the same show as before but it is a first season so they have to find new marks and new rythm. Top gear wasn't always awesome, we tend to remember only the best moments and it's perfectly normal. Also I can only assume that a lot of their ideas still belong to the BBC so i don't think they can do as much as they would love to.
      You have to be a little patient about The Grand Tour but also with the new Top Gear. But realistically, The Grand Tour was better than the first season of Matt Leblanc's Top Gear

    • @w-james9277
      @w-james9277 7 лет назад +4

      Florian Maniglier de Lafontaine Don't get me wrong, I did not like the latest Top Gear, largely due to the fact that Chris Evens had no idea what he was doing, and I enjoyed most of the grand tour. However older Top Gear did have allot of natural humour in it because Clarkson, Hammond and May were naturally funny people. However more recent series of TG have become more scripted and I found them less enjoyable. On TG you could always tell what was scripted because Hammond is a *terrible* actor. Some episodes of GT was 100% scripted and it was not funny. I really enjoyed the latest episodes of GT because they were less scripted and brought back more natural humour.

      i think your opinion is made out of the view of a sportbike right? So I actually understand your point of view, but I prefer Bern side of the Susten even if my bike is pretty sporty as well ;), wish you always a good ride, see ya ;)

    • @r0smor
      @r0smor 7 лет назад +1

      I'd agree with you both. Grimsel starting from Meiringen then Susten from Wassen. Furka in between if there isn't time to do Nufenen and Gotthard, but none of those three are in the same class. The Furka looks good on TV, which is why they've chosen it here.
      All I ask is that you bikers think a bit more about sports cars that are faster round the corners than you are. I don't mind you zooming past me at illegal speeds on the straights (as shown in this video). I *do* mind if you then go much slower than me on the twisty bits.
      One of the best things about the Susten Pass is that you don't have to break the speed limit to enjoy the drive.

    The original top gear format is spearheaded by tiff needell. Top gear then change its format and tiff and most of the main cast create fifth gear. Top gear then struggled in the first season in the next season they found a new formula established the trio and the rest is history. Now jeremy clarkson fired from top gear and take most of the film crew with him to the grand tour. Now we see top gear struggled in its first season, will they established itself in the second season? I think yes

Like if your on that road in a v12 with over 500 horses, kick the tail out every now and again. I enjoyed it as a snippet of a car show but it just missed that piece that gave top gear its magic. The fun of top gear was they were 3 grown men driving the fastest cars in a glorious plume of exhaust fumes and tire smoke. It has potential but none of the car sense made me smile like the old show did, it just wasn't infectious in the way that a great top gear episode should be.
