    Loved the tour! There's so many poisonous things there I was flinching every time you reached into the plants. I love all your videos. Thanks for another awesome adventure.

      Oh really haha! We did see a green viper snake (from a distance) but we were very blissfully ignorant about the other dangers- even walking through wet grass on flipflops to spot poison dart frogs, not realising they could touch our toes and do some serious damage 😅

      Thank you very much! I think it must have been something in the soil or a virus, can't be good? But no idea

    I loved this so much! Thank you so much for the tour! What an amazing experience it must have been to see that wonderful place and all those awesomely beautiful and cool plants irl. When you see them like that in their natural habitat (and compare that to our own home environments) you realise just how incredibly adaptable and resilient those plants can be.

    I loved your video! We went on a Panama Canal cruise 4/22 and one of or ports was Costa Rica. We did a tour of a botanical garden but it was nothing like what you got to see. I will have to go back and do a tour of the rain forest and see all the beauty you got to see.

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos  2 года назад

      Ooh that's very cool!! What an adventure. This actually was the cloud forest, which is cooler than rainforests. There's much bigger leaves in a rainforest so I wanna go there next time instead of here!

    Just to clarify general identification, Alocasia, Colocasia, Epipremnum are all Asian genera. The main Latin American aroid genera are Philodendron, Monstera and Anthuriums.

    is it risky to travel there? that's the main thing that worries me about travelling in south america and specifically in nature there...

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos  2 года назад +1

      No not at all. This is central America plus Costa Rica is one of the safest locations there. It is pretty touristy, and because of that everything is more expensive than neighbouring countries that are just as beautiful. But for us only having 2 weeks (11 days) we chose to pay more and have a very easy trip. I've never travelled in south America myself but I've travelled solo through India and Asia and had a wonderful time. It really helps to respect local traditions, but of course there is always a risk. In Costa Rica I have never felt unsafe, not even for a moment.

    I dream of a day whereby my country opens up a whole botanical garden with literally all aroids. I don't care what the admission fee is, I'll pay it, and I'll spend my whole day there. 🥲
