Hey man, I've been looking all over for the joy parts and the water proof cases but can't seem to find them unfortunately. Would u happen to have a direct link or the words I have to search for?
The waterproof cases looked pretty solid! Meanwhile, the DMG Game Boy itself was still rugged enough to withstand a literal bomb explosion and still somehow function by itself, albeit without sound, and that particular unit was on display at Nintendo Store NYC until recently. Apparently it's finally being retired since the screen is starting to give out or something.
as a kid i had tons of waterproof stuff cuz my family had a pool and always went to the beach. i would test everything by putting a paper towel inside the case then dropping it in the pool. you are one mad lad for testing it with an actual gameboy
I used the rechargeable battery grips for mine a lot actually, mostly for the fact that it was a rechargeable battery not for the grip part. It was especially nice since if you plugged in the power adapter to the gameboy color or gameboy pocket (i never had an adapter for the original so idk) it would often reset due to how the plug worked. But with a rechargeable battery grip you could just plug it in any time with no risk. Unfortunately the absolutely miniscule NiMH batteries inside didn't have much staying power and weren't charged very nicely so they didn't last all that long mine was unusable after just a couple years.
For Christmas one year, my brother got a GBA while I got a GBA SP (he wanted the GBA instead for some reason). I remember he used to have one of those big attachments with the magnifying glass and a light that he's have to constantly change batteries on and I would always just be sitting there on my SP wondering why the heck he wanted a regular GBA lol.
I had a worm light for my Gameboy Color when I was a kid and, it plugged into the link port to get power from the Gameboy. I fondly remember playing Pokemon Crystal in bed late at night on a school night, and my mom was trying to make sure I was actually going to bed instead of playing my Gameboy.
When I was a kid, a friend of mine had a DMG GameBoy that he wanted the battery section cut off from because he wanted to mod his discman with a 6v power source (even though it needed 3v...). He said if I can cut it off, I could keep the rest. So I did. I hacksawed the battery section off and kept the rest of the GameBoy. I ended up attaching a small set of NiCD batteries, and wired up a small yellow LED over the top of the screen (literally sticking out the top of the case, with the wires bent in such a way that the LED faced the screen), and that is how I played Pokemon Blue for about a year at night in bed with the lights off (so my parents wouldn't know!). It was shockingly terrible, but the alternative was no GameBoy.
I would kill for a pikachu light like that for different tech. Maybe a book lamp? Or for the switch somehow? Maybe not a light but that design is just too cute to leave back in the 80’s/90’s.
I sometimes keep myself busy with gameboy projects like repairs and customization. And I own a gameboy and game color on my own. Got the game power kinda just so I can plug my gameboy into the wall outlet And I got the viditech audio stereo. For the gameboy color I got a lamp to they're just awesome
I remember having a GBA SP accessory that gave it a customizable thumbstick and raised buttons, similar to the GBA one shown here. One of the most useless accessories I've ever owned, since you can't close the SP.
i can imagine a big issue with that steering wheel being lag: imagine you just turned it left to go left. now you wanna go right. so you start turning right. and left is still pressed. and you keep turning. and now left stops being pressed finally. and you keep turning. and now right starts being pressed. in a real steering wheel controller the game always knows the exact position of the wheel, but here it can't even distinguish between "resting at left", "being actively turned left" and "being turned right but not for long enough". at least with the "joystick" you have to push the direction you want to go (even if it's still just buttons internally so you can't distinguish "more up" from "less up", but at least from "down now").
nothing tops the solar gameboy charger and the sewing machine kit. ;) i have one of the gameboy solar thingies for 4 years now and it still works amazing
I had a rechargeable handgrip thingy for the GameBoy Color when I was younger, but it was quite a different design. I also had one of those weird kits for the GBA with a screen magnifier and button extensions and stuff and that was actually a cool one, it looked a _lot_ better than the GBC one you looked at here.
I get the vibes if I accidentally got lost and showed up to his house to ask for directions he’d have me in for some tea and biscuits before paying my Uber to my destination.
Oh god. My heart broke watching you submerge that GBA in a case you knew wasn’t fully waterproof (meaning you shouldn’t submerge it). You could see the bubbles coming from the speaker… 😱
Who else was tilting their phone to try get a better picture while he was playing driver on the GBA 🤣😭🙏🏽 Stussy...here in Australia we say it like you say pussy stussy 🙏🏽
Elliott playing with his Joy Parts again... Some very interesting stuff there, but I would be really nervous about putting water anywhere near those devices. I wouldn't put my Game Boy into the GB Buttocks either.
I might catch some hate for this, but I really want that GBA splash shell for my Raspberry Pi. I've been looking around for something that would feel right in my hands and it seems perfect.
Hi Elliot! Subscriber since your Walkman days. I'm 56, and and recently started having problems with arthritis. Those grip things are the only way I can play my GBA SP nowadays.
Watching this as I play with two new Seiko arrivals, a 7009 oval DX and a 1971 Seiko 6119, waiting on a rare as jeff Pulsar 7S26 to arrive and a Bulova Accutron from 1978, also got today a really rare Kinetic Pulsar G10 spec titanium... man I have so many Seiko's now O.o Only one left to find in my grails list that being a 6139 chrono then I will consider my Seiko group part of the collection complete :D
I do have big hands, so anything that helps me hold a small console is very much appreciated. As it is, I had to get joycon grips, and thankfully they fit on the OLED perfectly

Not gonna lie Elliot, you without glasses shocked me at first.
We just going to not talk about doing a roll over with the nose/ear hair puller thing.
A roll over is shining something around you thumb
how do you like your balls shaved :)
Hey man, I've been looking all over for the joy parts and the water proof cases but can't seem to find them unfortunately. Would u happen to have a direct link or the words I have to search for?
Those accessories are so weird that Elliot needed to put his glasses away.
Don’t be fooled, this isn’t Elliot! It’s his evil twin, Walliot!
@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated oof
not in the ads tho
Underrated comment 😂 (not sarcasm)
@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated Nice catch, Walliot doesn't need glasses XD

I think it worked fine once they replaced the screen. Still amazing!
Awww :( I had really hoped to see it in person one day
I had a less janky version of the multi boy. Before back-lit Gameboys, that light was pretty amazing.
Love your videos Eliot ❤
keep making great content!
Thank you! Will do!
:)

Btw the waterproof case was necessary in Japan because the people often take long bath in bathhouses, and some people probably used they gba there.
I genuinely couldnt believe the gba could handle 3d games like that
Dude i know. Thats seriously impressive
elliot has been hinting at this video all year. im so excited and i hope it does well
8:08 I always wanted a BSDM suit for my gameboy.
Bdsm lol
It's been a bad (game)boy
The Konix GB Holster was released in the UK. And despite the looks, I liked it.

Thanks for sharing all these awesome accesories, loved your Japan trip series!
9:50 that transparent blue GBC is a beauty

That pokemon ぴかつとライト (pikachu light, or pikachu to raito) fits well with a Pokedex Red Gameboy Color at the end. 🥰 Extremely rare that it sold out.
Elliot cosplaying Ness from Earthbound for this video!
Nothing can compare to the weirdness of the pedisedate, the only gameboy accessory that drugs you
I WANNA BE SEDATED WITH A GAME BOY!!!
I can remember, I had (and still have) this Pikachu Light, but getting it's power from the link cable port I think
What I thought too, but it doesn't look that way? Somehow?
By the way, when the character which 11:54 appears on this packge is “爆走兄弟レッツ&ゴー!!”. “爆走兄弟レッツ&ゴー!!” is the famous "ACG" of one in Japan, even in asia.

Yeah that was pretty cool I want one lol
The gameboy bags were really nice and the little led light were nice too.
Great video, Keep up the good work.
This Is exactly what I needed after I get home from work, a new upload from Elliot, WHOO!! 😄🙌🏾
Title: “Japan’s Weird GameBoy Accessories”
Thumbnail: *the most chill and normal GameBoy accessory I’ve ever seen*
POV-the 9yr that just wanted to watch about Gameboy accessories and didn’t wanna see ball shavers:😨
I LITERALLY don't recognise this handsome man but he makes an excellent gameboy accessories video
I love your videos you actually got me into modding Gameboys
7:57 i love that kinky rubber outfit for the gameboy colour 🤣
WOOOOO RETROFUTURE UPLOAD!!!
I sometimes keep myself busy with gameboy projects like repairs and customization. And I own a gameboy and game color on my own. Got the game power kinda just so I can plug my gameboy into the wall outlet
And I got the viditech audio stereo.
For the gameboy color I got a lamp to they're just awesome
Elliot with a striped shirt, baseball cap, and no glasses = his 90s look
Elliott's girl told him how cute he looked without glasses and a backwards hat on; so he decided to bless his viewers.🙏
I remember having a GBA SP accessory that gave it a customizable thumbstick and raised buttons, similar to the GBA one shown here.
One of the most useless accessories I've ever owned, since you can't close the SP.
12:20 I had one of those from Blockbuster in the US!
I liked the jank, personally lol

Hand in hand(held console) absolutely fantastic pun my good Sir
Well i never expected this sponsor on your channel😂
I ADORE that Mori Shoulder Bag case, and I cant find it anywhere, not even on Sendico
I used to have that stereo speakers with a magnifier glass, but watching that screen was difficult back then
11:20 I'm in love with that case! Much more compact and elegant than the beefy black shoulder bag that the rest of the world got.
Its always tranquil hearing people from the Commonwealth pronouncing Nike "Naik"
Most worm lights didn't have a battery, they powered off the link port, and some even had a passthrough so you could still use the link cable.
I had a rechargeable handgrip thingy for the GameBoy Color when I was younger, but it was quite a different design. I also had one of those weird kits for the GBA with a screen magnifier and button extensions and stuff and that was actually a cool one, it looked a _lot_ better than the GBC one you looked at here.
its weird seeing this man without glasses on
Man I had the GB holster back in the day. Nostalgia overload
On a sidenote, that transparant purple GBA looks awesome!
Oh shit! Elliot busted out the Driver 2 for this one! Never thought I'd see that played under water 😆
damn, elliot looking cold without glasses
That Pikachu wormlight is adorable! :3
I get the vibes if I accidentally got lost and showed up to his house to ask for directions he’d have me in for some tea and biscuits before paying my Uber to my destination.
My boy looking clean af today
I loved the pikachu worm light ❤.
I had the American version of the Multiboy for years. I actually really liked it and used it the entire time I had a compatible Game Boy.
Oh god. My heart broke watching you submerge that GBA in a case you knew wasn’t fully waterproof (meaning you shouldn’t submerge it). You could see the bubbles coming from the speaker… 😱
Don't you ever replace your pair of glasses for contact lenses again... My God. You lost at least 15 years...
Who else was tilting their phone to try get a better picture while he was playing driver on the GBA 🤣😭🙏🏽 Stussy...here in Australia we say it like you say pussy stussy 🙏🏽

Great video and love weird accessories
That accessory at 8:04 honestly looks like a gimp suit for a Game Boy.
I think the gameboy shoulder bag is my favorite. Reminds me of a cover that they make for tiny televisions, i got one thats by sony.
I might catch some hate for this, but I really want that GBA splash shell for my Raspberry Pi. I've been looking around for something that would feel right in my hands and it seems perfect.
I bought that pokeball light months ago for $20 haha. All sealed like yours
I love how the GBA one said splash proof and you just dumped it in the bath still :D
Elliot lookin' extra cool today. I wonder what he's done different?
Definitely used some ball toner spray on his face 😎
This chad is wearing Manscaped boxers. That’s why he‘s looking extra cool today.
0:46 Your balls will thank you got me on the floor
That Shield Boy Advance Accessory looked really cool.
All those weird accessories but I do like last one the most too.
Worm light! Love them!
Hi Elliot! Subscriber since your Walkman days. I'm 56, and and recently started having problems with arthritis. Those grip things are the only way I can play my GBA SP nowadays.
Very sorry to hear that! I wish you all the best!
@@TheRetroFuture Thank You. Stay cool.

Watch those lights that plug into the Link Cable port. They put additional strain on the batteries.
ohhh the pikachu lamp! i was looking at it and was going to buy it than disappeared, i guess now i know where it went 😂
The rubber one was probably a shock case
Love it mate
Hi Eliott! Love your work! Sorry if I spelled your name wrong
Elliot did you know a 14 year old has taken over your channel? (j/k, the lack of glasses just took me by surprise)
I had something very similar to the Multi-boy but mine was gray and claim to make it like an arcade.
How do I pay on sendico? I tried adding money to the wallet and I got a message saying it was rejected?
pls help ! where can i find the same gba invisible purple case ?
I do have big hands, so anything that helps me hold a small console is very much appreciated. As it is, I had to get joycon grips, and thankfully they fit on the OLED perfectly
"These accessories is much better when u dont have it on" 😂😂😂
It's weird to see Elliot without glasses...
We don't like backwards hat Elliot, we want no hat with glasses Elliot.
Manscaped specifically sponsored the gameboy bum. The bum boy. The boy bum.
Heh. Boy bum. I'm such a child.
I want more information on that pikachu worm light
Fun stuff!
Eliot looks younger without his glasses
I miss your glasses, you look so good in them~
Going to the beach with your GBA makes sense. Only place you can see the damned screen.
I just wonder myself everytime where my gameboys are i think some "friends" stole it
Ths literally put smile in my face
His gameboy has got a bakery.
Missing from this video: official NERF cases.
Can you actually use the buttons through that waterproof gbp case?
Oh my god I had one of those pouches back in the day LOL
They really take their Gameboy's seriously over there.
