Buy it here: bit.ly/Thetford... And yes... Hands washed immediately upon stopping the recording. The entire assembly was sanitized with bleach towels prior to filming.
Great video, thank you! Very informative to see someone doing a REAL dump video, showing what the process is actually like. Most reviews skip this part even though dumping & cleaning is the most critical part of a portable toilet.
Great video, I am definitely getting one for SHTF. I actually found myself holding my breath when you were dumping it. I remember watching my dad gag when he did the dump after a family camping weekend.
Thank you! I just bought one for camping and have been dreading the dumping process😆. I know my wife will make it my choir🤨. Your video helped take a lot of my 🤢🤮 worries away👍.
Honest GREAT raw video... I admit I just threw up on the floor.. but you've convinced me to order my new Thetford and I love it!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU David!!!.... total game changer!
Great video! I searched everywhere for a good 'how to clean a porta potti and yours is the best. I was having trouble figuring out how to unlock the top from the bottom and nothing. I saw you unlatch at the back! mine seems hard to unlatch!
Thank you for getting down to the dirty side of the business. As a trucker, I was always grossed out by the idea, but it's crucial eventually, especially if your girl joins you. You never want them forced to squat out in the middle of nowhere.
What is interesting is that the solids and paper have been digested in the tank. So more than deoderizing, digesting may be the reason to use stuff in the tank.
Helpful video. I’ve got a Dometic portable toilet on my boat that’s plumbed for water and has a deck pump out and there’s not much info out there on care and use, so this is helpful. We’ve never used it, but may just start.
Have you ever used a lubricant for the seal in your PT? I love your video and it’s spot on and I did purchase the Thetford 365 with the help from your video. I have had zero odors, seriously, and my PT stays clean with a good clean after each use and a serious cleaning after each emptying of tank. I’d like to have my PT a long time and want to do proper maintenance. I’ve learned more from YT videos than manufacturers websites. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
Thank you for this video. I had just watched a video on the Composting toilet and iit was truthful very informative but now watching your video help me to decide. I think this is a easier system to deal with.
I so appreciate getting the benefit of your experience. Thank you and WELL DONE -- for modeling excellent common sense ! I am studying the Thetford because I'm working out how to build a sawdust and wood shavings version of this for myself... aka an "earthquake toilet" but really you could call it an everyday common sense toilet.
Do not watch this during your lunch break. ;-) Thanks for posting it. It was very useful to see the actual process. I’ll agree with some of the others. Maybe make a shorter version of this and get to the point a bit quicker? Might get a lot more views.
I've always wondered how they work. I just can't see myself carrying even the bottom part with my disability. But I'm very happy to know now that this one is not for me.
I’ve bought one for my HGV as I live in the truck all week. I leave no waste, litter etc and everything comes home with me to be disposed of properly. Leave no trace
Long video- dude, take this out to your clean out outside, and dump it there. We had 35 surveillance vans that must sit in place for hours. All had Thetford porta potti’s! Gotta go, you gotta go. After you dump it, run a hose through the bottom to give it a better clean out. While you’re at it, Thetford makes “Campa chem” breaks down dark matter and smells great. My wife would put me in the dog house if she caught me dumping in there! LOL!
Pogey Bait lol. I hear ya. You are absolutely correct about wife and that’s why I waited that Saturday for her to go out shopping. And yes... I still use this thing at least once a week from my work van. Makes life so much easier!
can you share what chemicals for the water that is safe to use if I want to dump the waste in my home toilet? Some said chemical used for the porta potty might harm the septic tank in your house..
Come along good. But real world bed. Just picked up one. Got the Piston one for about the same price as the base. Supposedly easier, reliable long-lasting. Deodorizer for the holding tank. Wondered if there's special stuff for the flushing tank
What chemicals do you put in it? After you pour out the waste, shouldn’t you rinse and disinfect it or something? I am really interested in a Porta Potty, and this video helps a lot, but how do you wash out the inside of you have to store it for a while? Thanks, Clueless
Looks just like my 2.6 camco. I use it for urine only & I bag the brown - then toss it, in the trash. The smell of these porta potty's originate from combining the urine & poop.
It’s going to be brown🤣🤣🤣😫😫😫 but I finally used this, this week and I’m hollering at this. But, I kinda got nervous about taking this camping and dumping in that toilet
Stevealan Camping 2019 yeah comes down to portability needs I suppose? This size is perfect for me by myself on the road. I was wishing I had more capacity when I had my two kids with me over the summer and I didn’t want to use black tank in RV.
It works the same, difference being you have to empty that bucket every time you use it. Not so with this unit. Don’t dump this till it’s full. Maybe a month later! No smell. Use campa chem chemicals to eliminate odors for that month!
Save yourself 8 mins ... dumping demo starts at 8:05
Thanks SO much. I wanted to skip ahead but didn’t know how far to go to not miss anything
Great video, thank you! Very informative to see someone doing a REAL dump video, showing what the process is actually like. Most reviews skip this part even though dumping & cleaning is the most critical part of a portable toilet.
It's remarkably difficult to find such an honest display of how these work. Thanks for the video!!

Thanks mate. Excellent demo. Cheers from Australia.
Thank you! This was EXACTLY what I wanted to know
My sh!t don't stink either! LOL. Thanks for the great video. Really helped understand how easy it is to dispose of the waste.
Great video! I searched everywhere for a good 'how to clean a porta potti and yours is the best. I was having trouble figuring out how to unlock the top from the bottom and nothing. I saw you unlatch at the back! mine seems hard to unlatch!
Thank you...you just my decision so much easier to purchase this for my shuttle bus conversion!
Thank you. I hadn’t used mine in so long I forgot what all the knobs were. Very helpful.
THIS WAS AWESOME!! IM NOT SCARED OF IT ANYMORE!!
I bought one because i saw your video,, thanks again👍🏼

This was great thank you. I was so grossed out about having this on a boat. I have no problem now.

Now that's a proper review! Good for you. 😄
Good video! I will definitely not be getting a boat without the permanent toilet... LMAO
Dang this seems super useful! Not even that expensive! Woah. Kinda gross but it beats dealing with public bathrooms at a campsite
Do not watch this during your lunch break. ;-) Thanks for posting it. It was very useful to see the actual process. I’ll agree with some of the others. Maybe make a shorter version of this and get to the point a bit quicker? Might get a lot more views.
I just had to fast forward 5 minutes but hey
I need one of these for my little Donzi since I take it out for daily jaunts and have a kid now. Cheers.
20 seconds in and you won me with the shower curtain!
I'm all about increasing the betterness
I've always wondered how they work. I just can't see myself carrying even the bottom part with my disability. But I'm very happy to know now that this one is not for me.

Pogey is spot on with your analogy! Use chemicals, otherwise buy a 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot and dump daily. Not so with this unit.
Thank you
Useful vid and super realistic compared to people who do a play-time demo
Thanks for a real demo
Great video! I watched twice.
So when you separate it to dump, is that hole in the center just exposed..?
No it would be closed because your flush is closed
I feel like I need to wash my hands
Why not mention the number.of the model
Im waiting to find out how you dump it
How many dumps can you take in this small one before it gets crazy?
Jesus bud, lol. Just empty after every dump, just to be safe :D
Man had me cheering for the video, but bummed me out with the boat, why not take it back. Wanna hear that story
can you share what chemicals for the water that is safe to use if I want to dump the waste in my home toilet? Some said chemical used for the porta potty might harm the septic tank in your house..
7 didn't like? What's not to like?
Thanks so much for this!
Come along good. But real world bed. Just picked up one. Got the Piston one for about the same price as the base. Supposedly easier, reliable long-lasting. Deodorizer for the holding tank. Wondered if there's special stuff for the flushing tank
Yes..... Aqua rinse plus for the flush tank and Aqua Kem Blue/Green for the waste tank.
The link took me to the Amazon site and the price is $174.21 seems expensive and an odd price.
Just get Thetford 92860 Porta Potti 135 at the same link for $85.
Question if any water on the black cap when durmp the waist tank
There’s hundreds of videos and reviews on that toilet
When the crapper is full how much water is still left on top when you clean it?
What chemicals do you put in it? After you pour out the waste, shouldn’t you rinse and disinfect it or something? I am really interested in a Porta Potty, and this video helps a lot, but how do you wash out the inside of you have to store it for a while? Thanks, Clueless
Thank you. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to buy one for my sick father or not.
easier to dump and sanitize a traditional bedside commode if your father is staying at home.
@@erinmackel Thank you for responding. I moved in a new home and now he has his own bathroom and is now able to go by himself after surgery.
do the chemical disintegrate the solids so you pour only liquid?
yes, it breaks everything down including the toilet paper used, into liquid substance only.
Thank you very much, yes you’re right it’s gross but everybody do that stuff every single day thanks again
Man, the smell must suck.
Good video
Many of us want to use a camp group dumping station. I think you could cut about 8 minutes of commentary.
Does the loo roll paper not clog up that pipe as you pour it all out into the toilet?
If you use something like aquasoft dissolving toilet paper you won't have a problem with it.
I do appreciate this vid but really -- you don't get to the actual dumping until 7:30 into an 11:12 video? All that preamble was not necessary.
Find a video that's 2 minutes long
Ugh, bare hands? Sure you can wash it off, but why not use gloves anyway, just in case?
In case of what?
Looks just like my 2.6 camco. I use it for urine only & I bag the brown - then toss it, in the trash. The smell of these porta potty's originate from combining the urine & poop.
Dumb question but do you still put the paper down as usual?
Yup!
basically it is a bit similar to a cassette toilet (for caravan )
just a little note, bleach will ruin your seals over time, antibac would be better :)
A bit gross 🤮 but u are awesome , the 1st one to do a poop dump video 👍. Thanks for sharing
Would be nice if it had a hose
i never smelled anything either bwhahahah
Shake and Bake!
It’s going to be brown🤣🤣🤣😫😫😫 but I finally used this, this week and I’m hollering at this. But, I kinda got nervous about taking this camping and dumping in that toilet
Why is he wasting all that good poop 😡
Wait. What??
come on
Think I just threw up in my mouth! But thank you anyways...
Video way too slow. Too much jabber.
Yes! 😱🤢
Stop dribbling and just get on with it
5 gallon tank is better
Stevealan Camping 2019 yeah comes down to portability needs I suppose? This size is perfect for me by myself on the road. I was wishing I had more capacity when I had my two kids with me over the summer and I didn’t want to use black tank in RV.
Wack
Home Depot bucket and toilet seat works the same I guess ($15)
It works the same, difference being you have to empty that bucket every time you use it. Not so with this unit. Don’t dump this till it’s full. Maybe a month later! No smell. Use campa chem chemicals to eliminate odors for that month!
Blaa blaa blaa
