I am a cat person, and Lottie's reaction is not a cat-astrophy. You want her to like it, so she has to be cool until no one is looking. Cats neither give nor require approval from human staff! Give her treats on the tower, spray the bed with catnip, or jiggle a toy on the outside that she can spy through the bars. She is sure to come around. It's beautiful! 😸
Such a great job!!! I bet she will love using it to look out the window when she gets used to it. I have 1 suggestion.... use the velcro to attach the top cushion to the stand... hard side stuck to the wood, soft side on the cushion so it can still be washed... that way when she jumps down, the cushion won't slide 🙂
This is a sign. I’ve been toying with the idea of removing the fugly, cheap “carpet” on our cylindrical cat hidey hole/end table and replacing it with pole wrap. Lottie’s cat tower is gorgeous! Lucky girl. 🥰
It’s beautiful. I’m a master sewer and hand sewing is absolutely the right thing to do in a lot of cases, that deep fuzzy material is hard to do on machine. I’m sure Lottie will come around.
I told my fella that my cat needs one of these, and that since my cat isn’t as stylish as this, a painted finish will be fine. Her mamma will make the cushions!

I laugh every time you have to sew! I started making my own clothes at about age 16, sewed for others in college (for fun money), sewed for my kids, became a quilter, and in the last year I began sewing leather purses. Currently, I own two regular sewing machines, an embroidery machine, a heavy duty machine that can sew leather, and a serger/overlocker. The little projects you sew are very easy for me - if you lived closer, I’d be happy to come and sew them for you! Love how this project turned out, but I still wouldn’t spend even that reduced price on a pet bed! I don’t think I ever spent that much on a bed for any of my kids, either!!!
As a cat parent. I love that aesthetics of the cat bed. Which is no doubt why this bed is so expensive. That is the struggle to find things your cat loves, but you also like having in your house. Most of the time you just put up with meh stuff because you love your cat(s). Although, I would never pay $600 for a cat piece of furniture. Congrats on the DIY! Lottie hopefully will come to appreciate it. Cats are a finicky weird lot and it could take weeks to months for her to totally decide to truly like it. One day something just becomes their favorite spot. My cats rotate between areas of the house so one day something is “in” and the next day it is “out” and the cycle repeats. Because the piece is so beautiful her owner no doubt will give her all the time she needs to decide.
That is absolutely awesome, Danie. Try a little cat nip under the cushions to attract Lottie. Since you're not a cat owner, you probably don't know, they are like children. They rarely preform when you want them to.

It looks amazing and I love it. If I could make a suggestion to make it cheaper you could buy the cheap bed pillows from Walmart/target take the stuffing out and use that. That's what we did for our cats we also infused the stuffing with catnip to get them interested in the bed.
I'll tell you a secret of cat parents know - a cat will never stay in the place that you choose. But rest assured, he will love it in a few days. It looks stunning, BTW.
Ugh, I wish I lived closer to you - I LOVE doing random sewing projects - and would totally make your sewing parts. I've made numerous hand-made patterns for myself when I wanted something that I couldn't just up & buy. I'm by no means an expert, but I love the challenge. At the same time, it just goes to show that you can be confident about some parts of a project & maybe not others, but if you keep at it, it can all look amazing in the end. Plus the bonus feels knowing you made it yourself
I love this cat tower! You did an amazing job on it!! I'm a cat person with 2 little lovelies. I've always been a cat person but that's not to say I don't love dogs also. My hubs has 2 I loved to bits. Anyway, having had a lifetime of experience with cats Lottie will take her sweet time to claim her tower. You did it right by setting her in it so she knows it's hers & not forcing beyond that. It's window height, high enough she feels safe, cozy comfy and she can look outside or cuddle in the bottom when she wants to feel protective semi-walls around her but can see out. You hit all the cat love points with this. She'll claim it as hers in a couple days & spend hours upon hours in & on it every day.
I actually don't think that many cats would go on the top, but the down alcove is really nice. And it is actually a really stylish piece. We'll done danie. Sara Nena DIY
This was a purrfectly pawsome project. That $600 price was just pawful and sent me into a CATatonic state. I needed some musCATo to recover. If I tried this, it would be a CATastrophe. Besides, my cat is sleeping on my arm, so I am currently proCATinating for a furry long time.
1. Thank you for noting that buying a blanket was cheaper than buying fabric! Buying new fabric is so expensive right now! 2. That fabric would have been insanely hard to sew without a walking foot on your machine! Hats off to you for trying it AND for your lovely hand sewing!
Amazing! Love seeing the way you cut the plywood to be able to make the round shape. Now I know we can do this with the wallboard and wood. I thought you were just going to get a fallen tree and cut two circles. This is MUCH more professional. Loved all the tips in this and you keeping us on our claws looking for cat puns. Love seeing what you did to the spindles so that they suppawted the upper tier. Love that the pillows are washable! In fairness to Lottie, I think it is the placement of the cat bed that is the issue. When a cat has a choice between a window sill and some other place, the window sill is always going to win. Great job again and yes, you have every reason to feel proud and blessed with a ton of talent!!!

I always enjoy your " can I make this for less?" Videos. This is no exception. You always do such amazing work. Our Charlie not only has several actual cat beds in different rooms in our home, but also pretty much parks it wherever and whenever he is in the nap mode. The couch, the window sill... I can't imagine $600. 00 for a cat bed these days with the economy as it is. Yikes!

As a cat mom to 10 cats, yes 10!, I personally love the cat bed/tower. Cats are funny about new things but their curiosity always wins out. Lottie will love it very soon. You did an amazing job on it. I also wouldn’t spend that much and don’t. I sew😌and make them stuffed cushions. Not nearly as nice as your creation. Oh by the way, I think you did fine sewing. You just picked a difficult fabric to sew on a domestic machine. The thickness and fluffiness made it hard to get through the machine. If you do another, maybe pick a lighter weight fabric. Another great one!!
It's a stylish bed for sure. Looks much better than stuff you can get that's got freakin' paw prints all over it or something equally as tacky. I would still find it a hard sell to shell out $350 for it, though. That's still a lot of money. I appreciate the breakdown because you can see where the bulk is spent and that's going to fluctuate more than the nails and glue and stuff.

@@sheenatalks8529 we have different styles, usualy housing is the most important investiment in our lives due the price of land and materials. We usualy dont make wood houses wich makes building different. This farmhouse style danie loves isn't common in here, in reality most of our buildings today have a more contemporary style with LED lines of light on the ceiling and so things like lamps aren't so common, most of our cabinets and all of that custom made furniture is made out of mdf isntead of wood. For me this channel is unique becuse of this contrast

Try looking for a plant stand. They often come in bamboo and are circular.

It was a " Purrrrr-rfectly " done cat bed and tower. Loftier was definitely smelling King Kanobie. She will come to appreciate it after while.

Our Charlie not only has several actual cat beds in different rooms in our home, but also pretty much parks it wherever and whenever he is in the nap mode. The couch, the window sill... I can't imagine $600. 00 for a cat bed these days with the economy as it is. Yikes!

As a cat mom to 10 cats, yes 10!, I personally love the cat bed/tower. Cats are funny about new things but their curiosity always wins out. Lottie will love it very soon. You did an amazing job on it. I also wouldn’t spend that much and don’t. I sew😌and make them stuffed cushions. Not nearly as nice as your creation. Oh by the way, I think you did fine sewing. You just picked a difficult fabric to sew on a domestic machine. The thickness and fluffiness made it hard to get through the machine. If you do another, maybe pick a lighter weight fabric. Another great one!!

It's a stylish bed for sure. Looks much better than stuff you can get that's got freakin' paw prints all over it or something equally as tacky. I would still find it a hard sell to shell out $350 for it, though. That's still a lot of money. I appreciate the breakdown because you can see where the bulk is spent and that's going to fluctuate more than the nails and glue and stuff.

Things are very different here in Brazil, at least about the archtecture and interior design but still Danie Is aways very inspiring, thanks for making these videos every week. Every saturday gets better!

@@sheenatalks8529 we have different styles, usualy housing is the most important investiment in our lives due the price of land and materials. We usualy dont make wood houses wich makes building different. This farmhouse style danie loves isn't common in here, in reality most of our buildings today have a more
contemporary style with LED lines of light on the ceiling and so things like lamps aren't so common, most of our cabinets and all of that custom made furniture is made out of mdf isntead of wood. For me this channel is unique becuse of this contrast
