my grandfather always sang this song for me when i was young, i haven’t been able to see him in a year, thank you for sharing this video, it really made me feel safe
I work in the casino business as a table games dealer and this song hits much different than it used to. Over time I have realized that gambling is the exact same as taking drugs. Every time a gambler wins, their brain releases dopamine and seratonin as a reward response. At first it is all fun and games and sometimes you win money. But when you're an addict, it's no longer about the money; it's about getting the next win, that next hit of dopamine. I have seen many sad things occur in the business. People waiting for their check to clear the bank at the table. I saw someone win $10,000 in less than a few hours, and proceeded to play every single penny back, then later asking other customers for loans. They say if you see someone with a gambling problem, then let a higher up know. But they have to want to quit, and many never will. I have seen the ruin of many a poor boy, and I thank God that I'm not one.
I just found this channel and can't stop listening to your music. You are incredibly talented and clearly pour your heart and soul into it. Please keep it up
Magnificent ! If he took part in the television show The Voice, the four judges would immediately turn to him ! And it was probably he who would teach them something !
I really wanna thank you. I haven't really been singing in a long time, but when I listen to your videos, I can't help but sing along with you - feels so freeing to let my emotions out.

My dad loved this song and used to sing this to me on the guitar when I was about 3 years old. It was the first song I learned all the words to. (Including nursery rhymes 😂😂😂) He passed away 15 years ago but I can imagine him loving this if he were still around. Thank you. ❤
Gotta say this was probably one of the best versions I’ve heard of this song. As always you did a great job sir and it was a pleasure to listen to you.
Hi Frank... big fan. Just letting you know me and my friends are in awe of your talent, and you have been such a gift during this global event. You are a treasure.
You do a wonderful job of capturing the true essence and sadness behind this song. This was the very first song I ever learned to play on guitar when I was 14, so I have a particular fondness for it. ❤
Wow! These covers are comforting and cleansing the tears of my longing heart ❤️ this Christmas 🎄 I wish I could be with my crush 😞 but these covers make my longing lonely heart bearable 😊
This is one of my favorite songs to cover as a late- in - life beginner singer. YOU TUBE: TOM KITCH " THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN" (THE ANIMALS). You do so well with all of your songs, Frank, including this one.
This has only just found it’s way to me frank. So glad it did though. This song , good as it is, has been done to death, but this is the first time I’ve heard it as a heartbreaking ballad with such raw emotion. I don’t know where you are living Frank but hearing that it should be in the heart of New Orleans . Brilliant as usual
@@FrankWatkinson that may be so Frank but listening to this I’m sat with you on a stoop in the Deep South somewhere with the crickets chirping and the swamp steaming away sipping bourbon and chewing the fat. You’re a top man!
Hats off for your consistency and love for music, if you can please make another cover of Death with Dignity, it was so so beautiful with your voice, I would love to see you sing it again! Love from India!
I like it mate, but you have a really nice vocal tone that you're not exploiting. I wish you would've maintained the whispering element but maybe sung a little more. That would've put your version in the same echelon as Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt
I first heard the song my dad used to sing it playing the guitar for the longest time I thought he made it up you my friend did a perfect job the best cover I've ever heard
Your covers have been absolutely mesmerizing and emotional to watch. I can't help but feel like I am listening to a cover done by a famous artist like Johnny Cash. Thank you for sharing your passion with us. :) Can I possibly request a song? You should listen to "I Have Never Loved Someone" by My Brightest Diamond
I truly enjoy your channel. It would have been even better if you could zoom out the video recorder a bit so that your guitar fretboard and fingers show up also.
I love your covers and originals. Radiohead was a good one! You should check out Kurt Vile, you may like him. Wakin' On A Pretty Daze is a great album!
This is a terrible song for me to fall asleep to - but only because your voice sends too many chills up and down my spine for me to feel sleepy. Thank you.
@@FrankWatkinson oh! Glad to know that. Definitely gonna watch them! I discovered that you did covers for many songs that I love! So excited to listen to them since I love your voice so much. Please keep spreading this beauty on us❤️
