Omg! The only words I can use to describe how I feel when I watch these amazing, beautiful skaters rock-skate-roll-bouncing to the beats of the DJ, is pure joy! For some reason, even though WE had THREE rinks, and I occasionally would go to parties at them, I never bothered to learn to skate when I was a kid. Now, looking at the graceful and talented ladies and yes, men too, having so much fun gliding around the rinks doing these smooth, complex, synchronized moves in perfect timing to the beat, just makes me sad to realize just how much I missed out on. Great thanks to "Milwaukee24" and others who post these wonderful videos!
@@Nubiangent1 I'm 61 now and when I turned 40 I started experiencing joint pain. Especially in my knees if I'd go shopping and walk around for couple of hours. Then came the tendonitis in my forearms. I moved to Taiwan from Canada 13 years ago and want to get back in the gym. I used to work out in my 20's and it was my goal to always stay in shape. But I let it go when things got busy in my 30's and 40's. So I tried the gym in Taiwan and the pain was too much. I don't remember how, but I tried a low carb diet. Just cutting out all sugars, potatoes, rice, breads...basically anything white. All the joint pain went away. I had a new lease on life. The last 2 years I cut out all plants base foods altogether and now I just eat only red meat. Basically steaks. Everything got better. Clearer thoughts, stronger bones, better eyesight, skin issues went away...sex got way better again. I did it in the 90s, and early 2000s and just got back on two months ago. It all came back really fast. It’s amazing watching them skate in groups and before you know it, you’ll be with them. Rainbow gone now!😥 You remember on Thursday and Friday they had the big screen going playing videos, and the All night skate? Then on Saturday late night Skate at The Rink on 87th St, then Sunday was Glenwood! I miss all that 😥
YES! That's the proper way to rollerskate! I used to do this back in the late 1970s and 80s and everyone thought I was nuts. However, these ladies are SO much better than I ever was! They can turn and skate backwards, something I never really was able to do. Keep on skating! :)

I miss skating so much. I haven’t been on skates in five years. On QUANTUM OF THE SEAS there is a multi purpose venue called SEAPLEX. Everyday that they had skating, your girl was there. Work and life kinda keeps me from the wheels. I have to get my fix from you all. Roll on my peeps.

This makes me want to go back! I started skating lessons and fell...haven't been back since, that was Feb 2018. Im too embarrassed, injured and old (over 30) to go back. Plus skating is not that popular where I am from so there is one instructor that teaches basic thru jam skating. What is the name of the songs at beginning 00 mark at :41 mark. I know its a mix of some sort.
gotta take it easy. and if u a beginner padding is definitely recommended. but if u get hurt when flan I don't recommend u keep skating. safety always comes first. and the first song I think is a shaprostyle mix. idk the second one.
I give these ladies much respect to their roller skating skills and to everyone who are still roller skating over 40. I am 63 and the last tome I went skating lets just say Keith Sweat song Make Last Forever was out. I was 32 at the time. Should I ever put on a paid of roller skates I am going to male sure that I am well padded and skate with the little kids. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

from ur local rink is prolly the best bet because u can try them on and the workers should be knowledgeable enough to point u in the right direction. if u want to buy online I would try riedells website, or an official site for a company, not like amazon or one of those sites. I feel like u will get better results from an official company when u buy skates online

@@ellab2665 lmaooooo injury is a part of sports. the chances of breaking a bone is slim tho. I have been skating since 04 and I can count on one hand the umber of people who had a serious injury. on the other hand I need two hands and two feet plus more to count the serious football injuries I have seen, and almost just as many basketball injuries. just take it slow, stretch, and work your way into it one move at a time lol
These are good skaters bouncing soft to music. Wish we had cell cameras in the 80s for they way we skated and for all the guy real break dancers of the 80s.
I would love to go to one of your skating parties and tear up the floor! I started skating at the age of 7 and skated hard till after H. S. Then eventually just went to Adult night. I could skate all night w/o running out of air. Now I'm lucky if I can make it thru the song because of tricks. I seen a few of the male skaters use fomat on all 8 wheels!! Damn! I only use 4. 2 on each skate on the inside. They were used to do different tricks. If anyone can help me out by letting me know where are these Detroit parties are I would appreciate it and...keep on skating! And TY in advance 😊.

Real question... how do you combat the Charlie horses? My legs tighten up so easily. I want to skate but I dont want my legs to lock up on me. Advice?
stretch more and start off slow. but stretching before AND after id the main thing. I use to get em too

@@ellab2665 lmaooooo injury is a part of sports. the chances of breaking a bone is slim tho. I have been skating since 04 and I can count on one hand the umber of people who had a serious injury. on the other hand I need two hands and two feet plus more to count the serious football injuries I have seen, and almost just as many basketball injuries. just take it slow, stretch, and work your way into it one move at a time lol

I would love to go to one of your skating parties and tear up the floor! I started skating at the age of 7 and skated hard till after H. S. Then eventually just went to Adult night. I could skate all night w/o running out of air. Now I'm lucky if I can make it thru the song because of tricks. I seen a few of the male skaters use fomat on all 8 wheels!!
Damn! I only use 4. 2 on
each skate on the inside. They were used to do different tricks. If anyone can help me out by letting me know where are these Detroit parties are I would appreciate it and...keep on skating! And TY in advance 😊.

Glenwood, the rink (on 87 I think lol) and Lynwood (which is just outside of chicago) from what I have seen so far. I feel like im forgetting one tho
