This was the perfect choice for The Loved Ones because the sweet and genuine song clashes so much with what Lola does. Usually the complete opposite of what I listen to, but I love because it gives me goosebumps every time remember that intensely crazy movie
The pink dress Lola wore in The Loved one matches this song perfectly. A sweet and romantic comedy, recommended to everyone. Honestly! No age limit lol.
When I first heard this song over 20 years ago, I was happily engaged, a new grad nurse and had the world I had pictured, but it struck some thing within me that I couldn’t explain. Listening now at the age of 46… I realized it was actually telling me my future ❤
0:06. The lady is named Jean and the man next to her is Jim. They just happened to be there at the train station in Barstow, CA the day that part of the video was shot. They've been family friends for 50 plus years. Jean passed away a few weeks ago, and Jim passed just a few days ago. They were very beautiful and special people and will be remembered.
Caught a benefit show when in Brisbane when on vacation from Austin, TX visiting some musician friends. Kasey was amazing going through her catalog of music now. Just fantastic music. And sounds like like Austin/Nashville. Love it.
i love this song because it represents a whole. the insecurities all of us as individuals feel but someone else is feeling the same way. everyone has doubts and worries about themselves when in reality we all do what we can day to day just to get by. Its a beautiful song and helps us see how each of us are or how we view ourselves. i love it
I honestly love your posts and always enjoy reading them in my lonely spare time. I'm so sorry I invaded your privacy, but I'd love to be friends with someone who could share such sensitive post content, which means you're a woman of integrity. I wanted to add you but sending you a friend request without your consent is inappropriate because I'm a public figure and it wouldn't take much either, I'd appreciate it if you send me a friend request now so we can be friends and text better here on RUclips❤❤❤
That movie was awesome and very original. I usually only watch non American horror. I live in the US (not for much longer). But I find that non American movies, especially horror, are much more original and much better thought out. America just uses the same formula over and over. Or American directors rip off awesome foreign movies. But I really liked The Loved Ones. If you don't go in ten seconds, then daddy's going to nail it to the chair. Lol
Axis of Awesome brought me here. me too.Molly's voice is great and i think she has a great future... it's a great song to ponder on in this very short lifetime

My great taste in music brought me here. lmao. Been listening to this for probably 14yrs. I fangirlscreamed when I heard the song appear on The Loved Ones and aw'd over Molly's cover (and also died just a little because I knew the lyrics were a little off but she was like 5 so that's okay lol)
In the Summer 2002 I was upstairs in my room at Mom and Dad's and I saw the video on CMT and I sang along 2 the song. The name of the song is "Not Pretty Enough, (Why Do U See Right Through me)"?
In 1999 I worked at a music store and we’d play random disc (CD’s). That’s how I discovered her, so it’s funny to see all those who discovered her from a movie I’ve never heard of.

I don't know what "The Loved Ones" are. I only know this song because my Australian friends introduced me to Kasey Chambers when this song was released in 2002.
I had to post another comment about how criminally underrated The Loved Ones is. It's definitely in my top three horror movies of all the time and I'm the movies biggest hype man, (14 years too late, haha)

Why don't we hear more about her? Talented songwriter and singer, this is really a good song.
She’s just done a country cover of Eminem’s Lose Yourself…it’s OMG! Check out the live at Newcastle video

Me too - just watched The Loved Ones and this song knocked me out! All the other songs in the film were just painful noise.
The pink dress Lola wore in The Loved one matches this song perfectly.

This is one of my Kasey Chambers song and my favorite videos
You are amazing. Pure country!
I can't decide which is my favorite song, this one or The Captain. Kasey Chambers is so talented.
I love both of those. I also love "We're All Gonna Die Someday" and her cover of "If I Needed You"
check out her live version of Lose Yourself by Eminem

Lola's theme song in the movie The Loved Ones. Totally fits her character.

This song just reminds me of the film Loved Ones to much.. Scares me..
Her songs are so great. And one of the best qualities to her singing is you can actually understand the lyrics. Her diction is excellent.

I actually came here because I love Kasey Chambers. An unconventional voice with a most traditional country sound.
Great song and video by Kasey
In the Summer 2002 I was upstairs in my room at Mom and Dad's and I saw the video on CMT and I sang along 2 the song. The name of the song is "Not Pretty Enough, (Why Do U See Right Through me)"?

Emmett Paul for sure
Truth
lol I'm torn on it. This is clearly a sweet song but I can only think about people being tortured horrifically when I hear it now 🔪💀
Agreed. I never heard it before I seen that movie
I don't know what "The Loved Ones" are. I only know this song because my Australian friends introduced me to Kasey Chambers when this song was released in 2002.
The footage sure looked like Texas. I saw Kasey at the Aussie BBQ at SXSW 2017 in Austin. I swear she was channeling Janis Joplin. Great performance!
Such a sweet song used in such contrast to the movie with Lola and you my prince or just another frog
I used to live two blocks from that train station.
Put this back on Spotify!!!
i love this song, so much.
Just finishing watching the Loved Ones. Had to find out who sang this song. Awesome video! Watched it 5 times already. Fits the movie perfectly.

i love this song. omg like luuuuv
I hit the Shazam button on the iPhone as soon I heard the song in the movie. It is an awesome song.
another hit via axis of awesome!
Love her unusual voice.
One of my favorite songs by her is "We're All Gonna Die Someday"
I discovered this song through the australian film The Loved Ones and now it only has one really fucked up connotation.
Isn't it more that it's Country music ? Country and Folk have always had a traditional focus on simple melodies that draws the focus to the lyrics...
Excellent song been there
Axis of Awesome! :D
