None of the practice tests i found are as difficult as the math for my personal projects, does the actual test not involve thong like converting farads to watt hours and adding up resistance of wire leangth along with loads on the system?
No way. I'm 43 and considering my local union's program and thought 43 was too old. The assistant director i spoke with nicely reassured and encouraged me that you're never too old and to apply.
I know bro was telling the truth when he said “if you’re not gonna show up at the exact time then just go home” like damn bro you don’t even know what the fuck happening to me or going on in my life this apprenticeship sounds great and all but it also really seems as if they don’t really give a shit about you
Sadly this industry is still predominantly white male and very minimal diversity. Just finished a pathway program with the ibew pathway women program with local 353 at the Oshawa center in Ontario where as a person of colour experienced some very colonial ideologies and practices from a few of there instructors sadly one is a mental health facilitator and the other a human rights advocate but neither of them displayed that. Be mindful of joining especially if you're a person of Colour. They need serious diversity and inclusion programs and training. Over 13k electricians and 1% women? And how many people of colour.... Sounds scary for an industry starving for workers. Perhaps it's time to take our skills and knowledge back to Africa seeing that there's no respect in the trades all across.
Not the case over here in Southern California. I applied and took tests to a few locals and JATCs, 4 out of 5 people out of the groups of 50 people, were what you consider diverse. However, I didnt notice more than 2 women at each place.
How do you expect people to join a field they may or may not want to work in? In general most women don’t want to work in construction, it’s just a fact. It’s dirty, it’s hard at times, etc etc. Not every person is able to perform every job🙄
So since the entire African American population in the US amounts to 17% of the population, does this tell you that we should only allow people of color to have children to even out the "disparity"? Brainwashed Anti-Logic. MOST of the US is white so MOST workers in any field will be predominantly white. But I'm sure you already thought of all of this before posting that.
Is there a way to making the working conditions better? Make it a glorious job
Yea drink milk and lift weights and you’ll be fine
Twice a night a week for 6 hours for school? Does that mean 3 hours per day or 6
2 nights of 3 hours each night

All of our IBEW members lost 66% of their shifts, what say you?
Replaced with Construction Wireman (CWs) and Construction Electrician (CEs)?
Is 28 too old to start?
You’re never too old to start. my grandfather once told me that it’s never too late to try something that’ll help your life.
I am 28. I just got accepted into the IBEW apprentice program. Never too late. Just got to love the trade and be adaptive and want to learn.
@@KelsayyxDwhere did you apply any tips on where to apply
Never too old to start. I had 40 year olds in my class who are now 46 and up $20/h from what they were capped at before

How do I become an apprentice?
depends on how fast you can conceal the gabagol
5 years...
It goes by so fast
Time will pass whether you take it or not,
But what if I’m not good at algebra or geometry?
They'll just make you take a math remediation course so you learn it again
Study hard and get good at it
listen to.
hey yal
IBEW.
This looks and sounds miserable
What do you do?
Yeah but $40 or more an hour once you're a joureyman with full medical insurance and a pension. Hard to beat that nowadays. Also a very secure field
Why is that?
This guy looks like melted ice cream for sure
