    None of the practice tests i found are as difficult as the math for my personal projects, does the actual test not involve thong like converting farads to watt hours and adding up resistance of wire leangth along with loads on the system?

      No way. I'm 43 and considering my local union's program and thought 43 was too old. The assistant director i spoke with nicely reassured and encouraged me that you're never too old and to apply.

    Sadly this industry is still predominantly white male and very minimal diversity. Just finished a pathway program with the ibew pathway women program with local 353 at the Oshawa center in Ontario where as a person of colour experienced some very colonial ideologies and practices from a few of there instructors sadly one is a mental health facilitator and the other a human rights advocate but neither of them displayed that. Be mindful of joining especially if you're a person of Colour. They need serious diversity and inclusion programs and training. Over 13k electricians and 1% women? And how many people of colour.... Sounds scary for an industry starving for workers. Perhaps it's time to take our skills and knowledge back to Africa seeing that there's no respect in the trades all across.

      @CaseNumber00 Год назад +2

      Not the case over here in Southern California. I applied and took tests to a few locals and JATCs, 4 out of 5 people out of the groups of 50 people, were what you consider diverse. However, I didnt notice more than 2 women at each place.

      How do you expect people to join a field they may or may not want to work in? In general most women don’t want to work in construction, it’s just a fact. It’s dirty, it’s hard at times, etc etc. Not every person is able to perform every job🙄

      So since the entire African American population in the US amounts to 17% of the population, does this tell you that we should only allow people of color to have children to even out the "disparity"? Brainwashed Anti-Logic. MOST of the US is white so MOST workers in any field will be predominantly white. But I'm sure you already thought of all of this before posting that.
