Mandy, I just now made your pickle potato salad recipe. I'm the lady who commented that I don't like dill pickles, but thought I would try it using my favorite sweet and hot pickles. And wow! It is soooo good. I just had to tell you it turned out great! A funny story: My favorite pickle is specifically Bell View Hot and Sweet Cucumber Slices. My local Italian restaurant started serves a few pickles with their salads. And I loved them. I didn't ask them where they got them, I just went on a hunt of my local grocery stores figuring they probably got them locally. I tried many brands in my quest for the perfect pickle BUT they weren't THE one... Then I finally found the Bell View brand in a town 30 miles away and I knew immediately they were the ones that came with their salad. Anyway, jokes on me, a few weeks after I found them, the restaurant started offering them for sale in jars at the restaurant. But I had fun on my pickle scavenger hunt, so it's all good.

My mama’s famous potato salad has dill pickles and sweet pickles in it and lots of the same seasonings. I say famous because she’s known for her amazing potato salad and everyone requests that she brings it to parties. I’ve honestly never loved a potato salad more than my mama’s. It’s the only one I’ll ever make. So I can see why y’all liked that pickle potato salad so much.
I made the bow tie salad with Penne pasta this evening. I got to the Ranch Dressing part and thought I had ranch dressing. Olive Garden Salad Dressing to the rescue. My husband loves it ! By the way, I diced an onion and added it as well. Like you say, that’s the way we roll !
More terrific recipes, thanks! A trick for cooling rice quickly is to spread it onto a platter, cookie sheet, swiss roll pan or other oven sheet. That way you get lots of surface area for excess heat and moisture to radiate / evaporate into the air.

I bought the caraway set and absolutely love it. IF I faulted it anywhere it would be the weight and I wish the large saucepan had a handle in the opposite side As far as cooking with it???? You can’t beat it.
Hi Mandy. whenever making a salad with avocado, add a crushed vitamin C tablet to your dressing. It will prevent the avocado from turning brown - for more than a week! I saw this years ago on Food Network, and tried it. (I know about “the week” because leftover salad got hidden in the back of the frig.) And the vitamin C doesn’t alter the taste at all.
back in the 60's my mom was like me learning how to cook with social media, at the time it was a daytime call in show called "ask your neighbor" one of the highlights of her life was a trip to hudsons department store with her girlfriends. they would even go to the beauty shop to get their hair done for the occasion that happened, at most 2 times a year. my mo;m was so cool. she would have completely fit in as a 30 something today, she was health obsessed. exercised daily and tried her hardest to feed the family with natural, healthy foods. she had a potato salad i am sure was featured on her radio show from the cafe at Hudsons, Maurice salad. home made mayo was what she said made this recipe devine. look it up online, i have found many recipes that were perfect. its an amazing salad that really isn't as healthy as the thought but tasted so damn good.

Just a note: the warm potatoes absorb the dressing very nicely, so having it sort of "runny" to start is a good idea. All three of those look fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing.
I just made a potato and a pasta salad over the last few days similar to your potato salad, minus the chips and pickles, I added dill relish and small diced onions and cheese. It was delicious. I was running low on ingredients so I made do. Thats how we amateur cooks do it, right? Of course after 30 years in the kitchen, we should be experts! Na, thats what we call our moms! Mandy!!! I am almost 💯 positive that is the potato salad that my mom used to make for me!! I cannot use Mayo because of an egg allergy, and I have searched high and low for mama’s recipe with no luck. Even complete with the ‘tater chips (mama used to wait to put the chips in until just before serving because they get soggy) I AM SOOO EXCITED FOR THIS!! YAYEEEE! We love Utz chips and cheese balls. It's a popular brand here in Wisconsin. When my 3 boys were little, the big tub of cheese balls didn't last long between them and their friends. I have 3 new salads to make. Especially the potato salad. My garlic dill crock pickles will be ready soon ❤❤❤❤

I made a jalapeno popper potato salad for Sunday dinner at church, Never have they sent me such an empty bowl home. The scrapped the flavor off the sides of the bowl. Then I had to send the recipe home with many of them! Your recipes I will try them for church also!

Great recipes. Yum. But I would advise if you’re making the second dish for other people I would substitute parsley for the cilantro because not everyone can eat cilantro. Otherwise I’m making all. Thanks ❣️
My sister bought me those herb scissors about 10 years ago, they were awful to clean, at least they have the little thingy that takes the residue off. My favorite of the 2 are the rice salad and the potato salad. I'll be trying all 3, but the dressing of the pasta salad is the allure for me. I've made my potato salad the same way for years and have gotten a lot of compliments - the trick is tossing the potatoes with some Italian Salad Dressing and letting them sit while prepping the other ingredients. However, the dill and potato chips have definitely made me want to try your potato salad.
I make a dill potato salad with mayo, sour cream, dill relish, dill spice and salt and pepper that is good. My husband likes it a lot. I’ll have to try that one.

Try crushing the fried dill pickle potato chips up into crumbs (like bread crumbs) and use them to coat chicken tenders or pork tenderloin chops! It'll make your tongue slap your brains out! Also add some dill pickle juice to the egg you use for the dredge. The chicken made that way will remind you of Chik fil a 😊
I could have used these recipes all summer long for the lunches I make every Wednesday for the Bible study I host at my local homeless resource center. I have made my Mama's potato salad, some tuna pasta salad, but I haven't tried a cold rice salad. Sounds yummy 🤓.

Dill pickles are never the best in any salad, including egg salad, always use a sweet gherkin or bread & butter.

I really like the potato chips sprinkled on top of the potato salad right before I eat it. I love the extra crunch they provide in the potato salad.

Mandy, can you recommend a silicone spatula that will not “melt” when used.
Any silicone spatula should be fine. You should be able to find one at Ross or T.J. Maxx.

I could have used these recipes all summer long for the lunches I make every Wednesday for the Bible study I host at my local homeless resource center. I have made my Mama's potato salad, some tuna pasta salad, but I haven't tried a cold rice salad. Sounds yummy 🤓.

You look stunning Mandy and I absolutely LOVE your precious little top! Yay for summer salads. In the middle of winter we will all be wishing for warm weather and a fresh produce summer salad. My friend who lived in Italy 30+ years said to add Pesto to your mayo based pasta salads to make them "extra". I'd through some shrimp on top of that dill potato salad as we are seafood lovers. Have you tried the three boxed pasta salads from ALDI yet? The dill pickle one is outstanding.
