What an absolutely amazing Synth! Thank you Roland !!! and thanks Ed for being involved in the design of this thing. 7 stars out of 5.
The Fantom is just amazing. Thanks a lot for the explanation.
Senor Diaz, much appreciated again for todays tutorial. I get more comfy with this instrument each day, thanks to your bite sized and easy to digest videos.. :)
marctronixx That’s awesome to hear!!!
It works the same on FANTOM O, happily for us lesser mortals...this video precedes the O series.
Came here hoping this was the case, as Senor Diaz didn't cover this in his fantom0 tutorials.
Very good information 💯✔️👍
Thanks for these videos!
Very very very helpful Video Sir Thanks a lot ❤
Quite a bit more useful than a simple "Favorites" feature.
Thanks
Does this video and others for the Fantom also applies to the Fantom O series? I believe it does but I want to be sure.
Good video
Hi, Ed. I have a string tone, now I truly want to make it auto sustain, without controlling by the pedal, how can I make it? Thank you for your help!
Hi, I made a mistake trying to copy the sounds of a scene to a new scene. but I mistakenly deleted all the sounds that were present in the Jazz Cafe scene. Can I find the sounds that were recorded in this scene?
I would like to know if I can use MIDI data from an external device to play the internal sound generator with the internal sequencer?
Thank you.
Hello Mr Diaz I love your show im currently in a band where I'm playing many different pads layers instrument layers and splits and it just seems hard jumping from patch to patch.im currently using the Juno DS 76 and I love it but I'm having hard time switching from patch to patch I'm making and saving performance settings I'm looking at buying the FA 07 or a Fantom do you think this is necessary for me to look into or should I just keep working with my Juno
Is it possible to sequence different sound from different scenes?
Ed
I just picked up a Fantom 7 a few weeks ago. I was tired of dragging my Korg kronos 2 88 key around along with my Nord Stage 3 76HP. So thats when I decided to trade in the Kronos for the Fantom. I must say I love the Fantom for that iconic Roland sound and with doing the latest update to the OS and downloading the vintage synths it just brings me back to my teen years when I got into synths. My question to you is after watching your video on scenes is can you name the individual scenes when you create a scene chain?? I am used to the Set List feature that was on the Korg Kronos and a very handy feature. I would name it to the band I was playing in and then I would name that sound patch to the song I was using it for. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
What about a sidechain ? Zones side chained for bass to drum?
Hello Ed, What is a scene chain? Sitting here with my 9yo wondering if he will need to know this..
Does anyone know if you can retrieve a scene that was saved over/deleted?
Can you send me one so I can see if this is accurate?
Seriously though, these videos are awesome and I've favorited them so that even I get a Fantom some day, I'll know how to use it
Is there a way to load custom drums samples into Fantom without using the pads?
I think sample load option is goning to add Fantom in next update.
@@nebukenazar I don't think. Roland could have implemented this feature in FA series, but they didn't.
Besides, there is no a word from Roland about sample memory on Fantom. For example, MC-707/101 has it and you can use drum sounds instead of preset sounds, so I think on Fantom it's a dead end without updating hardware.
@@alicaramba7680 If they do smth like you said they are going to be a sabotage for Fantom by their hands.
Simple answer...NO...it doesnt have a real Sampler...you cant even sample and create a patch eg: FM Bass sound patch...its basically same as FA....and it didnt have a real Sampler.
I'm sorry, and no offense to the absolutely wonderful Mr. Diaz, who does his job admirably, but I just see more bells and whistles that add up to REDUNDANCY: the opening image in the screen has SIXTEEN different scenes showing: each of these 16 scenes can have SIXTEEN different sounds on it, layered or otherwise.....the point being that the opening screen gives you immediate access to about a 100 potential sounds, of and by itself. Why then do we need to "chain" scenes together: if you pick different scenes from a chain view, it is no better than picking different scenes from a "scene" view....How many possible ways can you do the same thing before it is not truly something different AND better?
I actually feel sorry for Ed...having to sell this new Fantom...when Roland has actually taken functions OFF it compared to the Fantom X and G....and doubled the price!!!
Well to answer your question, it's because it's a better way to organize the scenes that you will use in a song or set for playing live. Do you really want to be scrolling around to find the scene that you need for the chorus or bridge? It's actually better to just see the scenes that you need instead of all of them.
@@justaname1862 Have you actually played the new Fantom? This thing sounds amazing with the new synth engine. If you're looking for a sampler, then yeah this is not for you; just buy an old Fantom if that's what you want. But this new Fantom kicks the sh*t out of the old Fantoms when it comes to sound quality.
@@RoyMaya Roy: do you currently have a new Fantom?
@@DrGargani Not yet, but I'm definitely getting one as soon as I sell a couple of my synths. I was trying to decide between the Jupiter X and the Fantom but I'm leaning towards the Fantom more.
oaoooo:)
I request you to get a new model of drum pad too.
