    My absolute favorite thing about your channel is the updates. A good design is never finished and a brilliant designer will always re-imagine them as he learns more or finds new fixations, haha. I'll stop with all the complements lest you be unable to fit an inevitable 3D scanned self-bust on your Prusa. 😆 Coincidentally I couldn't print my 300% Mushroom for a similar reason. 🤐 Thank you for the designs!

    I took the dice tower into tinkercad and cut away a pattern to give it a castle tower aesthetic. It didnt come out perfect because i couldnt get it exact but my next run will be much better

    Is there any variant to the bins that has the specific shape of the dice, so that they are not as noisy when the box moves around?

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  9 месяцев назад

      Not yet. My recommendation is adding craft foam to the bin without any dividers. You can even cut custom shapes, if you want, or just squish them in. Either way, the dice will be protected and quiet.
      This project has taught me that "standard" dice vary a LOT in size - so I probably won't make super precise bins which may or may not fit specific sets.
      I hope the foam solution works for you :)

    If you ever do an update to this box again, would you consider adding the dice-seat to your removable tray? I'm awful at CAD but I tried my hand and included a photo on printables under 434575-rollup-dice-box-small/comments

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  10 месяцев назад

      I really shot myself in the foot by modeling the bins to be as shallow as possible to fit the dice I had.
      This might be a future remix, but it would either need to be a complete rework (to account for the deeper bins) or a remix based on the existing "Rumble roller" (model #446355).
      It is something I'll consider, though, if I revisit!

    I've been watching all of your videos as soon as I spot them. Somehow the youtube algorithm doesn't want you to pup up in my feed. I've not seen any of your vids in my feed in the past year. And yes, I'm subscribed...
    I've had to look at your account manually...
    I wonder how many other people have this issue...

    Hmm the Dice Tower Core I'm thinking the tray could be split and made into Roller ends that can connect together along with being used for displaying the Roller Dice Box though I don't have a 3D Printer so I can't do any testing on the design and such

    • @3DPrinty

      I really like the prints which use back on the outside and the more colorful filament as an interior. That might work for gold too :)

    Anyone else have issues with the dice tower core? I printed the large one but my dice do not fit through it.

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  Год назад

      It looks like some dice are just slightly larger than the ones I used when testing. By any chance, are you using the hex trays? Those may not let D20s sit entirely flat. An updated core with slightly more clearance is in the works.

    This is great. I'm planning to clean up all the random bits and chunks in my garage work area and the empty bins I can roll up would be great for that too. After that, I'll have to find some dice-game friends. :-)

    where do you get good strength magnets. The ones I get are always trash

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  9 месяцев назад

      I look specifically for "neodymium" magnets. I don't trust listings that simply say "strong" or "super strong" because those descriptions don't seem to correspond to reality at all.

    I am currently trying to put the frame top part into the threaded dice tower and it is a struggle to fit the two together 💀...
    Edit: after sanding both I gave up for now

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  Год назад

      Sorry to hear it gave you trouble. The two parts are a snap fit, so it's pretty tight. As long as the filament you're using isn't too brittle, the core should stretch just enough for the cap to snap on. I hope another attempt with a little more force works out for you!

    • @WhiteXJack
      @WhiteXJack Год назад

      @@3DPrinty no it seems that I made a mistake the threaded top part is not the same as the normal top part , they have different sizes , so when I printed the threaded top part it was perfect

    I printed the large version but the D20 doesn't fit ;;
    Did I do something wrong ??

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  Год назад

      I'm sorry to hear that! While my own dice fit with a little room to spare, I have heard this a few times. Are you using the bins with hexagonal holes by any chance? If so, is the shape of the hole preventing the dice from sitting with one side flat on the bottom of the bin?

    • @xiSuKxAtomix
      @xiSuKxAtomix Год назад

      I am currently printing the core for the large version and I'm also having the issue of the d20 being taller than the bin. I have 2 bins printed right now. I'm holding off on printing the rest of the bins for now. My dice is definitely reaching the bottom of the bin but it is not flush with the top of the opening for the bin. I can definitely provide pictures if you'd like. Or if you think it isn't an issue, i can just go ahead and print the rest! Thank you for your design it's really cool and I'm excited to finish it and use it for my DnD sessions!

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  Год назад +1

      Are you planning on printing the normal large core or the dice tower core? I'm looking into an update that will give the dice a little head room and would be happy to send you the file early. If you use Printables, send me a message there, I can reply with the STL.

    • @3DPrinty
      @3DPrinty  7 месяцев назад +1

      Here's a remix that adds labels to the bottom of the tray. You could also use the text tool within your slicing software (PrusaSlicer/SuperSlicer/BambuStudio/OrcaSlicer) to add embossed text to the front wall of each bin :)

      This uses 6x3mm cylinder magnets. You can use 6x2, but the magnets will be inset and a little weaker.
