So good Nick, I really loved your images from this day. Also fun fact for your audience, this was Nick later that evening. "Oh man I just didn't film anything, I don't think I have enough for a video!" *Comes out with epic almost 20-minute video* L O L
If forced to choose between color and B&W version, I’d pick the color. The dark blue of the sky and the bright yellow/white of the bolt is beautiful. Great photos, all of them.
Nick, I live in Phoenix and chase on my days off. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who struggles with locations and compositions when shooting the storms. I literally almost walked away from photography this year until I realized that everyone has the same challenges and that I'm not doing something wrong. Thank you for making your videos and keeping me in the game.
Where are you guys? I’m in Tennessee and the pre-hurricane clouds are…HUGE! Just amazing! I work tomorrow, but Tuesday I’m heading to Clarksdale; MS. Morgan Freeman is a half owner of a blues club there, Ground Zero Blues Club. Downtown is incredible, a bit further down the road is The Blue Front, the oldest Juke still in operation…Mr. Jimmy “Duck” Holmes is the proprietor and a fine old blues man, to be for sure ;-) , I believe he nabbed him a Grammy this year…anyway, this storm is off the chain and should be will be something to see! The Mississippi Delta is quite flat, so you’ll be able to watch this thing for miles and miles!
Couldn’t keep myself from laughing at the “mad dash”. Sorry for your pain. Fun, beautiful video. REALLY liked your shot looking toward town with the single bolt and great sky. And Michael’s observatory shot was incredible. Stay safe you crazy guys!
OMG - The Mad Dash instant replay was hilarious! Props to you for not cussing. Every bad word in the book would have come out of my mouth had that happen to me :)
I feel like crying. The photos are just amazing and wonderful. By the way, I liked the one with the colder toned photo of the lighting bolt

Well that was really something. When choosing between pictures I often think "Which one would I put on my wall". Then which wall does matter. So for a big spacious wall I would go for color, but for a smaller prints on a smaller wall I would probably go for the black and white. But the black and white really draws attention to the lightning it self and so it stands out even better.
Your first video I watched was six years ago, with your astrophotography video. I thought it was so amazing then, but didn’t watch RUclips for many years after that year. I just got back into it two years ago, when I started my channel. I stumbled across you again, and my goodness how many more subscribers you have gotten since all those years ago! Congratulations! Your photos are amazing, as well as the time lapses! Great, job!
Between the color and B&W version, I would choose... Hmmm. Both of them are really good, it's really hard to decide. I would personally go with B&W version.
Nick.....OUCH "It looked like the cactus bite hurt just a little bit!", but I do want to say thank you for sharing such an amazing video series the past few weeks with everyone. You are such a gifted and talented person (as well as those you surround yourself with in your video's), and your enthusiasm of photography is truly reflected on screen as well. The Black and White is the belter choice to me personally because of the dramatics involved within the composition.
This channel has consistently had OUTSTANDING images that I will never be able to equal. I do NOT hate you for that, yeah, there's envy but that's it..... I prefer the b&w version of Michael's hail Mary bolt. It just seems to have more impact to me... Favorite image of today.... the first shot with the cactus and the sunset in the background. Outrageous color, tones, lighting. You beast Nick.... damn.
If forced to choose I opt for the cactus foreground with the single bolt of lightening as the photo that most appeals to me. Honestly, all of the shots are fantastic.
I am jealous of some of Nick's epic shots from this video, some angles and perspectives I either missed or just didn't see. 6:49 and then the following lightning strike. In the last one, I was super envious of his supercell wide shot with the rainbow and lightning.
Nice! Michael's reaction when he got the shot was priceless. I can so relate to him there, we get that when we get a killer aurora shot. Nick, now you have me wanting to chase lightening.
Your video was not a mess at all, Nick! the images you got were incredible. I especially liked the comp of the strike with the cacti at about 6:30. But then to get the huge strike at the observatory was a shot of a lifetime. So many branches on the bolt and how the ground just lit up. I wonder if you saw any wildfires started with lightning on your trip?? You sure got some good results and so glad you made the trip. sorry about the heat. Thanks for doing videos of several days of your trip. It was good to see the ups and downs of following the storms.
Epic strike indeed Nick, definitely prefer the colour version. Yet again, another amazing vlog with stunning images. Glad you only tangled with a cactus, the reptiles are not friendly. Stay safe Nick 🇦🇺
Nick, I love your work and love watching your videos but that shot of Michael Shainblum is amazing, a once in a lifetime shot, wow.. This is what inspires me to go out there and do photography, I'm not on your level but I love what I do and have had a lot of people say my photos are really good so thank you for your inspiration.
I shoot lightning photography as well and that shot where the lightning strikes the hill top with the observatory in the background is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! That has got to be one of the best lightning photograph I have seen in a long time. Very nicely done.
What can I say?.....WOW!! Wonderful photos boys thank you. Although I like the Black & White , I think I have to go with the blue image. I would have been happy to take any one of those shots! Take care and be safe, mind the rattlers and spikes!! Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧📷📷
I am gobsmacked. (Is that even a word?) I don't care. I'm still gobsmacked Nick. Brilliant photography. Both you and Michael just knocked it out of the park that day. Both most definitely have enlarged your portfolios with that trip! Congratulations for some truly epic shots.
Every time I watch one of you videos or even see one of your images I am both jealous and inspired. When the world gets back to something that resembles normal I’d love to see you come to Australia 🇦🇺. Keep up the good work
Hitting that teddy bear cholla with your finger…I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Also that beauty of a shot was worth that cactus biting your finger haha. Those lightning shots are insane!
I Love your adventures! Photographing the world with your buds who are almost as talented as you. LOL! I prefer the B/W bolt myself. Great image either way. Safe travels!
Nick, I vote for the color version. The contrast of the blue against the purple and white lightning bold stands out better, and the observatory is more well-defined, at least to my eyes. Epic is an understatement, but what words could we use? Thank you for sharing.
There is so much to like about this video nick. First of all I really felt your pain when the cactus bit you. Secondly I’m in awe of the landscape which u captured so beautifully. Thirdly, your friendship and comradery with Michael is so nice to see and fourthly your images are frigging awesome!
I liked the color version. I remember the Shainblum story you told about being out in the dunes and him "borrowing" your camera for one shot and it ended up being the best image on your card. I hope you guys do this every year for monsoon season.
Absolutely breathtaking photos and time lapse footage Nick. Some of the best I’ve seen. The first image gave me goosebumps, just wow. What an experience it must have been for you all to witness such beauty. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks again Nick. Inspirational work. Also thanks to Michael for sharing his 'birthday image', magnificent! Hard work and a touch of luck make for those once or twice in a lifetime image. I preferred the B&W version - for myself it had more drama. The teasing and collegiate respect are great to see. Keep the juices flowing. Thanks again.
My favorite is the color image, the blue just seems to make the lightning more intense. Ive commented to Gavin and on a Tom video about F-4 the sequel. Here's hoping another road trip can happen and you've got a lot of new characters to incorporate, humiliate and harass. I'd like to see you tackle the northeast for the sequel and because I know how good and valuable F-4 road trip was, I'd preorder the sequel when your ready. Anyone who hasn't made the purchase should immediately find the link, watch laugh and learn. These storm chasing videos have been really good. Stay safe and keep em coming
I dont mean to laugh at your pain but the more you replayed that stab the harder I laughed I was in tears and almost wet myself good thing you stopped when you did..lol. Amazing shots! As usual. I preferred the blue or colored lightening bolt shot.
Hi Nick, This was a great photographic and human voyage you brought us along with, everything from blood letting for video & photography to birthday presents from the Gods. Really awesome photographs, and while I enjoy the color pic because there is more detail, contrast and story the B&W could be more incredible with some magic. Really nice creativity on the go, please keep up the awesome art work. VZ
I love that location, Tucson Mountain Park, such an awesome location but I had the same fears as I was out there by myself. Last time through there with my wife we saw a huge rattler in the road at dusk.
So good Nick, I really loved your images from this day. Also fun fact for your audience, this was Nick later that evening. "Oh man I just didn't film anything, I don't think I have enough for a video!" *Comes out with epic almost 20-minute video* L O L
Happy (belated) Birthday mate, looking forward to your vlog tomorrow to see how good your 'birthday present' photo looks
@@wildaustraliaphotography-m2099 Hey there Michael, thanks so much! I actually put out my video yesterday too :)
Very cool shot of the lightning hitting the mountain next to R2D2. 👍🏻😎 Happy Birthday!
If forced to choose between color and B&W version, I’d pick the color. The dark blue of the sky and the bright yellow/white of the bolt is beautiful. Great photos, all of them.
Fantastic! That big bolt shot is the proverbial ‘mic drop’ shot. Awesome video. Love knowing we all have the same ‘shoot & dash’ for storms. 👍
The "mad dash" action replay had me in stitches!!
Stunning photos Nick. You guys must be happy with the results.
I think the colour version just edges out the B & W. Incredible shot!

I stand in pure awe with those bolts near the observatory!! What a joy to see this!!
Couldn’t keep myself from laughing at the “mad dash”. Sorry for your pain.
Fun, beautiful video. REALLY liked your shot looking toward town with the single bolt and great sky. And Michael’s observatory shot was incredible. Stay safe you crazy guys!
The slow mo on the cactus jab - I'm dying. 🤣 The photo is beautiful though. They all are.
OMG - The Mad Dash instant replay was hilarious! Props to you for not cussing. Every bad word in the book would have come out of my mouth had that happen to me :)
So hooked on the photos of this trip. Such energy in the videos, will be a let down when this trip ends. HB to Michael!
Old school - B&W definitely! The two of you make a good combo for photography blog and video.
I feel like crying. The photos are just amazing and wonderful.
By the way, I liked the one with the colder toned photo of the lighting bolt

Nice collaboration…photo nerds unite. We can take over the world!!!!
The lightning bolt hitting the mountain was a lucky strike for sure! Really spectacular. I guess it's fair to call it "the birthday shot."
Your first video I watched was six years ago, with your astrophotography video. I thought it was so amazing then, but didn’t watch RUclips for many years after that year. I love the music. Not often you hear RUclips video music in 5/4 time. Nice nice touch with fractal lightning.
I love coming back to these. I’ve watched it several times and it makes me want to keep continuing the chase myself.
Cheers Nick!
Nick, that "mad dash" was an epic, Gavin Hardcastle moment if I've ever seen one... It's really great to see you creating and sharing work again!
Bucket list shot for sure. Pure magic.
Which do I prefer? Both. For different reasons. Color is an amazing photograph. B&W is fantastic art.
Between the color and B&W version, I would choose... Hmmm. Both of them are really good, it's really hard to decide. I would personally go with B&W version.

The contrast in the mono draws my eye to it over the color but they are both awesome.
I much prefer color in storm photography. Great shots! Happy birthday Michael!
If forced to choose I opt for the cactus foreground with the single bolt of lightening as the photo that most appeals to me. Honestly, all of the shots are fantastic.
Oh wow! Amazing captures, even the cactus bite. Love the drama of the B&W!
Sometimes the desert requires a blood sacrifice. Glad to see you made it pay.
That black and white version… wauw 👌🏼
Color for sure! What an incredible shot! :D
All the images were great, but Michael's color image of the lightning on Kitt Peak was spectacular.
That’s because I suck at photography
I am jealous of some of Nick's epic shots from this video, some angles and perspectives I either missed or just didn't see. 6:49 and then the following lightning strike. In the last one, I was super envious of his supercell wide shot with the rainbow and lightning.
This spot in Saguaro NP is great, I visited years ago.
Your pics are even greater!
Nice! Michael's reaction when he got the shot was priceless. I can so relate to him there, we get that when we get a killer aurora shot. Nick, now you have me wanting to chase lightening.

The color photo of the lightening is my favorite of the two - All of the shots are incredible-- Well done
Color is definitely my favorite. I love how the dark blue tones create so much contrast with the blinding bolt of lightning!
Nick sorry for your pain that was best laugh of the day. Great shots.
Epic strike indeed Nick, definitely prefer the colour version.
Yet again, another amazing vlog with stunning images.
Glad you only tangled with a cactus, the reptiles are not friendly.
Stay safe Nick 🇦🇺
I love watching you work and seeing the results.
Amazing video. I prefer the black & white; it intensifies the lightning. Beautiful!
Another astonishing video and that strike shot. Just unbelievable. Love the black and white version myself
Image @6:40 was my favorite.
Nick: It's been incredibly hot.
Hudson: Yeah man, but it's a dry heat!
WOW, all the images are magic and powerful. Colour v BW - Colour for me. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video, Michael won the lightning sweepstakes, but your images were pretty sweet as well!
awesome images great video. I like the colour version. Thank you for sharing the journey of chasing the monsoons don't have those storms.
Amazing shots! I like the color version best of the vertical bolt. Thank you for sharing this!!!
I shoot lightning photography as well and that shot where the lightning strikes the hill top with the observatory in the background is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! That has got to be one of the best lightning photograph I have seen in a long time. Very nicely done.

Enjoyed this video very much! Great shots Nick and wow what a birthday present for Michael!
Utterly incredible images and another fascinating video Nick (& Michael B). I prefer the colour image.
Fantastic video. Amazing results. Thanks for for the inspiration and insight. I'm green with envy.
Nick, I prefer ALL of them. Fantastic.
Fantastic video! Happy Birthday to Michael. The color photo is my favorite, so much emotion.
Great vlog and wow what a shot from Michael - Thanks for sharing Nick
Great vid, Nick. The cactus swipe was priceless. Still laughing.
Awesome shots Nick. Black and white for me!
Thanks for the tips Nick! Was about to photograph my first lightening image thanks to remembering what I learned from you!
I am gobsmacked. (Is that even a word?) I don't care. I'm still gobsmacked Nick. Brilliant photography. Both you and Michael just knocked it out of the park that day. Both most definitely have enlarged your portfolios with that trip! Congratulations for some truly epic shots.
Wow! What a trip this has been so far!
Every time I watch one of you videos or even see one of your images I am both jealous and inspired. When the world gets back to something that resembles normal I’d love to see you come to Australia 🇦🇺. Keep up the good work
MEDIC UP!!!! Nick's been hit. LOL on your coverage of the assault. 😆
Brilliant, what an epic shot Michael got, a very lucky birthday boy. Colour image IMO but both stunning 👍
I probably didn’t make it very clear in the video, but the image that showed at the end was mine!
@@NickPage I did gather that Nick and superb it was too 👍⚡️
Thanks for taking us along on your storm chasing trip. Love the epic shots.
Oh man Epic is right some beautiful shots ! we rarely get lighting like that in ireland !! (happy birthday to Michael)
I really love the final storm image.I dream of getting that good.
Have loved this series of videos in AZ - awesome job!

Fantastic photos! I would choose the b&w version of the flash photo 👍🏻
Such a powerful phenomena! Great work.
Absolutely breathtaking photos and time lapse footage Nick. Some of the best I’ve seen. The first image gave me goosebumps, just wow. What an experience it must have been for you all to witness such beauty. Thank you for sharing.
Superb shots and I've a slight preference for ther color version with the dark blue sky present.
You are an inspiration... Thanks for sharing your craft... Awesome...
that looked like it must of hurt lots ! just your facial expressions revealed it all LOL!!!!!
Definitely pick the colour photo but it’s so hard to narrow your photos down. All simply beautiful!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is an excellent video. Funny, informative and awsome pics. I would choose the color.
Most definitely the color shot. Great video!

I preferred the blue or colored lightening bolt shot.
Amazing images Nick!! The single lightning bolt over the observatory is outstanding!!
Simply amazing. Luck is where preparation and timing intersect! There were several wonderful images.

Great images Nick, definitely the colour one for me.
Awesome Nick, what an adventure you guys are having, thanks for taking us on this epic journey.
Stunning shots! Love the music choice as well.
Wow! The strike on the mountain image is amazing. Great work (and great luck!) Nick!
