      Hello! I have a question about what was explained but applied in something I've seen on my Facebook. I switched the language of my phone to Turkish to get used to the language along my days and on my Facebook I saw the following sentence: " Filipe, Random Page'nin gönderisini paylaştı". I wanna know why these Suffixes were used in the word "gönderisini". Thanks in advance!!

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  3 года назад +2

      @@creztfallen5286 Very good question. Gönderi = post, - si= possessive adjective suffix for his/her/its, - n=buffer letter, - i = accusative suffix. So we translate "its post (which is a particular post)" as gönderi+si+(n)i. For more details watch the lessons called Buffer letters, suffixes and possessive adjectives.

    Your explanations are spectacular! I thought possessive was only for humans and pets. For this reason, I was confused about you using possessive in non-ownership examples until I realized that you were saying when something is “of” something else then we must also use possessive. Thank you so much. 👏🏾 👏🏾

    Is the sentence: "Okul kapısının kilidi" grammatically correct? I was told it is correct but I have doubts. A short explanation plz. Teşekkür ederim

    • @nanaiinaa174
      @nanaiinaa174 2 месяца назад +1

      i think it is wrong because the door belongs to the school so you should add the genitive suffix to the okul. so it is something like this "okulUN kapısının kilidi"

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  2 месяца назад

      The lock of the door of the school = okulun kapısının kilidi

    Is there a suffix Priority Order for the suffixes like Genitive before Dative Suffixes? Is this suffix order explained in any of the videos?

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  Год назад

      The main order is that you need to first add the possessive suffix and an other related suffixes.
      For ex:
      in my bag = benim çanta+m+da
      to your bag = senin çanta+n+a
      from our bag = bizim çanta+mız+dan
      with my bag = benim çanta+m+la

    Beautiful lesson, very helpful! I have two related questions:
    (1) As you explained, "the engine of the truck" = "kamyonun motoru", as there is a possession relationship and we are talking about a particular truck. In a different context, can we also have a generic "truck engine" ("kamyon motoru") used as a compound noun? For example how would you say "In the garage there are three truck engines and two car engines" ?
    (2) "kamyonun" by itself also means "your truck". So how would you say "the engine of your truck" ? (kamyonunun motoru ???)

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  3 года назад

      1) We are not talking about a particular truck or car so "Garajda 3 kamyon motoru ve 2 araba motoru var"
      2) The engine of your truck = Senin kamyon + un + un motor + u = Senin kamyonunun motoru
