Thanks for going into detail on the E clutch travel distance. I am currently rebuilding my zf6hp19 due to Ratio monitoring E and gear 3-4. It won't go past 3rd. I got the E drum apart and was not surprised to find it to contain BLACK friction disks and discolored steels. I was however surprised to find that the friction material wasn't totally smooth. However, in your video, it's easy to see how wear on each friction PLUS the steel discs adds up over 5-6 discs making the distance the clutch has to travel much greater than it was designed for.
great job, every time I get a transmission code most of the video have you to look at other things like tuneup etc.... I'm going to pull the pan and see. what's inside.
Nice work work bro. I am also having the same clutch E (P17E5) problem on a 2008 BMW E60 550 with a 6HP28 tranny, what do you suggest I do for an easy fix, change clutch E assembly alone?
Maybe you could help me I’ve put two transmission in my 08 335i both from a shop and they said they’re tested. Both of the transmission I’ve gotten won’t take more then 3 quarts of fluid no whatever what I do. What would you suspect to be a problem
My 6hp21 gearbox has 50k miles on it and it fluctuates in rpm when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear and throws the 4F89 error. I changed the sealing sleeve, oil and filter, I will analyze the solenoids. I did a lot of research on this error code (4F89) and came to the conclusion that the problem is not with the gearbox itself, do you have any idea what else I can check?
@@constructivetv6436 Thanks for answering. Tomorrow all mechatronics and solenoids will be checked to rule out any simpler problems before lowering the gearbox. The constant error is "4F89: Ratio Monitoring, Gearshift 3-4" with RPM oscillation when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear above 1500rpm. Analyzing the old crankcase magnet, there is a gray paste, but it appears to be just normal wear from the 50k miles. Very good your video, difficult to find equal content, keep it up
Hi there, How can I contact you? I have a question, what with bushing on end site transmission for e clutch(last part which you pulled out). Is nessesary to changed? Thanks
is there any chance you could get me a link to the master kit you bought, Also did you replace the zip kit? seems like a common issue is clutch a b e burnt with this valve body. and my current issue is a b e clutches burnt :]
Thank you Jamaican man for a very informative straight to the point video. Certainly better then all other videos ive seen out there. Stay Irie
Blessings mi G, thanks for the detailed disassembly of the transmission, i appreciate your content !!
That's a great video - very detailed. Not many indy shops want to work with this level of detail on transmission teardown / rebuild
Thank you very much I really appreciate it
Perfect and informative vedio
Thanks you helped me out a lot here...

I really appreciate it that you took the time out to watch my video and see how the application works on the transmission

You have to change the state of bushing. Changing the E Clutch alone won’t fix the problem

Hi Sir ,what brand of bushings you choice to repair this gearbox?
Can you tell me if ALTO is a good manufacture for the bushings?

did you change the shift accumulator in the valve body
As long as you are getting gear monitoring code in the transmission, you need to pull it and change the E clutches

@@JulianoEsman Also having problem with 4th not engaging. 34k miles. Did the solenoids fix the issue for you?
@@airyordan6291 Mechatronics were removed for general cleaning and solenoid testing. I'm confident it's a bad solenoid.
i thought code 4f81 was the A clutch
which clutch will be good for 800 hp
