Beanstalk is one of my favorite first picks for IS4, raw damage is low, but she can take down drones, generate DP, and tank damage. Eating nukes like a big pile of Gravel also comes up surprisingly often. But she isn't good on the IS4 first boss fight, because of all that ice that prevents her from dropping her crabs.
Since I started watching your content I've raised 20 4 stars to e2 and unlocked various modules. I definitely don't use them as well as you do but it's a fun challenge.
Perfumer could probably stand out more, since you can now pick the Relic that gives you 25% ATK and 25 ASPD, however lose 25HP per second. With Perfumer, effectively that penalty is negated, allowing operators to be deployed outside medic range without urgencies. And she will still heal allies with her talent if you got any ATK related relic or her S2 skill turned on.
damn 1 whole stage Want to point out that chestnut in particular is an awful pick for that stage. The simplest way to beat it is to seperate the casters from the dockworkers and just spank them separately That requires outhealing their damage (or stun bombs) Chestnut doesn't heal fucking anything

I was using Cutter yesterday and got a relic that was +ATK when op not using skill, up to 60% ATK, until skill use. And the one that's +100% damage for few seconds upon skill use. Her S2M1 was hitting for 7-8k per hit lol.

Deepcolor is OK very early on, when you dont have very many options for blockers, and functions better as staller support (she is a supporter after all). I'd bump her up one more, but she does fall off harder the longer the run goes.
She falls off on floor 2 imo And she isn't great on floor 1 to begin with. not worth the hope unless you're 100% sure you will die without more block/arts and roberta/podenco aren't leveled.
She also needs her module to be viable, otherwise she's extremely limited by the number of tentacles she gets (since she can't replenish them) The DP cost reduction helps a lot too. Problem is, she needs early promotion for that which isn't guaranteed, and as Silvergun says, she drops off pretty fast in this mode. Unless you're starving for blockers early on, it's better to take Ethan when the Specialist ticket appears.
At low difficulty, Deepcolor is fine; once it gets closer to 15, her tentacles just don’t have the stats to be relevant. Also too few relics that buff her to gamble on them showing up.
Probably you should specify the ranking is for max difficulty (15), no? Like i see no point in taking 4* defender other then Gummy if you play on diff 5 or below (or just use 3* to save hope?). Also might you consider that Conviction has 5% chance to move one tier higher, esp with spinach type relics?
I think Quartz could move up slightly, mostly due to how large HP pools are generically useful for any of the IS4 endings. Additionally, she's one of the few Guards that can even stun - though the chance is relatively low, there's a bevy of items that can both improve both the stun efficacy and the stun chance (attack speed), giving her surprising amounts of utility and survivability. Similarly, Crushers secretly having "attacked targets equal to block" trait allows S2 at E1 to trash clear very effectively in the early stages (Ghosts of the Resort, Prisoners, etc).
I started building 4 stars after watching @DrSilvergun. It is much more fun to play that way! I'm not as big of a brain player as he is, so I go usually with four to five 6-stars in IS and one 6- and two 5-stars in normal. That way I finally started reading descriptions on mechanics and treat 6-stars as an elite carry-unit and not just hammers where everything else is nails. Thanks for inspiration!

Pretty shocked you ranked Deepcolor that low, considering i learnt the low star summoner tech from you (or some other Nicheknights IS youtuber). As a Meta 6-star IS player, the DP problem is really prevalent even with Myrtle because ALL the stages just rushes you with some enemies the moment you play the stages. And you can't block with myrtle and gain dp at the same time because the starting enemy spawns frequently enough to keep Myrtle from being free to print DP, so i just plop Deepcolor and that problem is gone. Who cares if her tentacle dies very fast, all i need is for her to hold while Myrtle prints DP, and with Deepcolor's low low cost of 8 DP plus her 3 DP tentacles, i can confidently say she is one of the only cheap viable solution against early enemy rush/DP conundrum. And that is one of the tenet of how i solve DP problem, you can stall with kinda mediocre/trash ops if you can't deploy your good ops yet, because the majority of the stages are designed to have low-medium starting pressure that wanes and calms in the middle but spikes up drastically towards the end, so you need to make sure your cores are ready by that time. But i suppose Silvergun would not subscribe to that idea because 4* are inherently cheap and the cores are easy to deploy unlike my meta build which are Typhon GoldenGlow a 6* healer and healing defender plus spamming Texalter or some other helidrop, which boy howdy is more costly than the upcoming limited banner marathon.
Roberta is outright better than dc for that very purpose 4 more dp but won't die to random trash Can block up to 3 Doesn't need a safe range tile More useful past the first 5 seconds Also keep in mind roberta mostly does that at e1 At e1 DC needs 13 DP to drop something far squishier than roberta so it's even more in favor of roberta

Haven't build her yet that's why i bias pick Deepcolor every time but the times i got for free she is a good cheap early staller with way more utility thanks to her device. Tho i still kinda like Deepcolor for her higher dps-at-home with her range and arts and tentacle splitboxing shenanigans. But yeah, Roberta is a serious good pick.

the first time i ever beat IS2 (on regular difficulty) was with a conviction i got from the random 4* starting squad (& game then refused to give me any guard vouchers until like floor 4-5 lmao. i also E2d her at a safehouse or smthing for some reason) and she was my main DPS for 90% of the run unfortunately IS4 is not so forgiving
I always start IS#4 with Gummy, Click, Kroos (or Greythroat if I get some extra hope in the team creation). Maxed E2 M3 Module3 Gummy is still useful in IS#4 endgame, and she's good at the beginning
i'd argue that Conviction actually should be in niche tier, just don't use her for blocking and only for dps and get good rng and she can dish out some good damage with s1, it's unreliable but it is a niche also you forgot to mention Ambriel's most important feature: she can kill the second support drone in the ending 1 boss fight if you use the aspd foldartal, it's something not even Walter can do
I agree conviction is the closest of the "use a 3 star" guards to niche. Problem is opportunity cost, You'd rather pick a number of other guards over her.

Tbh it's not exactly what i expected from is tier list. Most of the operators that i though are good are in fact high in tier list, but some are pretty low, like vigna or podenco. And the most unexpected is that frostleaf isn't alone in the bottom tier.
Do you have the same list for IS3? I've been in hiatus regarding IS/RA modes since ~may 2023 and I want to finally start playing through them slowly. That is why I want to double check any really good 4* ops that I haven't built specifically for IS modes and fill in the blanks as from my experience 4* ops are really good starters due to low hope cost making them less risky to pick without losing too much advantage. At least they’re somewhat usable for damage if you don’t make them block enemies (even though blocking and dodging is the whole point but early Hypergryph made a lot more questionable decisions compared to nowadays). Frostleaf is Frostleaf because she literally cannot be used for anything, and her slow is only barely useful if you cope hard. You can’t even hope to put her out of harms way and try to get usability from her range because, again, she does no damage, and her slow is more often than not less than useful. I would say that Frostleaf and Earthspirit share the same level of usefulness; not at all. I would also put Jackie and Beehunter are one tier above them

Good SP Cycle E. Far stronger Crowd Control than Frostleaf You're really really really underestimating how dogshit frostleaf is if you think earthspirit is anywhere near as bad.
hmm, the only 4 stars I use in IS4 are gummy(too lazy to manual heal using spot/cardigan) and myrtle(fang first, then change to myrtle if I have excess hope)
Very generally yes, but it won't translate 100%, for example may is the highest ranked sniper in is3 (stun is paramount) Jaye is much better in IS3 and myrtle is far lower ranked there (DP is less important) All casters are one level down (arts is bad)
Disagree about Estelle. She's much better than Popukar, one of the better units to carry you through floor 1 if you want a meme dysfunctional 6 star start.
deepcolor = IMBA, she can soloing some stages, totally imbalanced on integrated strategies (dp cost, tons of cheap summons). perfumer = IMBA, can heal ALL operators (mudrock, hellagur etc) and NPC too on global range.
when in Elafia knight, all ranked only on Niche and below in is4... with a kinda reliable start, is vivi s2, which really needs tight skill timings :'v she can clear the floor1 prisoner stage without the 2nd block breaking at e1 atleast up to asc 11? if i remember correctly
Non-emergency prisoners stage can be cleared with e1 Viviana on diff15, but it's very unreliable. Good rng of her s2 and rng of the stage aligned less than a half of the time I tried. E2 clears it easily tho. Outside of that Vivi was my favorite start pre-expansion because you actually needed to play properly to win leakless instead of falling asleep on first floor, but new map is just unplayable for her, and I see this map basically every run for some reason. Means you can easily get into the fork between NMtF and Beasts which guaranteeing leaks, or you just will be forced to skip more fights than you wanted to. One more reason to hate expansion for me.

If you want higher rarity picks I recommend checking out dragongjy's IS guide. He goes over the best operators for each class. He also usually mentions an operator's performance in IS when he does an individual video reviewing them on their release. From my personal experience, for IS3 Texas Alter is broken and for IS4 Ines and Typhon are especially excellent, in case you have those three. But there are many others that are good.

Two seconds into the video you already feck dup, IMO. Myrtle is great yes... ONLY! In mid and late game I.S. why? In early game, most DP you need is never more than 33 dp to start putting your DPS unit or your blocker too especially floor 1. I'm not joking i rather pick fang instead of myrtle for early game and should be put at least a bit lower than must priority to get but it's different case if build for general content however 🙏
If by mid game you mean floor 3 you're correct. I'd rather not bet on having more than one vg ticket by floor 3 so I wouldn't skip her. Whatever you start with it should be able to deal with every F1 and F2 fight so there's no reason to skip an operator you need later anyway.

Obviously, Podenco is in God tier. No other operators in the game can compete with her. She is best operators you can get in IS 😊

Tbh it's not exactly what i expected from is tier list. Most of the operators that i though are good are in fact high in tier list, but some are pretty low, like vigna or podenco. And the most unexpected is that frostleaf isn't alone in the bottom tier.

Do you have the same list for IS3? I've been in hiatus regarding IS/RA modes since ~may 2023 and I want to finally start playing through them slowly. That is why I want to double check any really good 4* ops that I haven't built specifically for IS modes and fill in the blanks as from my experience 4* ops are really good starters due to low hope cost making them less risky to pick without losing too much advantage.

Jaye (More likely to get benefecial items for jaye and he doesn't get instakilled as often)
May (100% cause of S2 stun for the stupid stingrays, if you bring a better more consistent source feel free to disregard this)
Defenders are lower cause IS3 hates melee operators
Guards are still shit

At least they’re somewhat usable for damage if you don’t make them block enemies (even though blocking and dodging is the whole point but early Hypergryph made a lot more questionable decisions compared to nowadays). Frostleaf is Frostleaf because she literally cannot be used for anything, and her slow is only barely useful if you cope hard. You can’t even hope to put her out of harms way and try to get usability from her range because, again, she does no damage, and her slow is more often than not less than useful. I would say that Frostleaf and Earthspirit share the same level of usefulness; not at all. I would also put Jackie and Beehunter are one tier above them

1. every other 4* guard (Frostleaf doesn't guard shit) does more damage than beehunter and jackie, there's no reason to pick them for damage.
2. Relying on dodge in a roguelike where you need 40 minutes to get to a fight is not a good idea.
3. Earthspirit A. Does arts damage B. is on a range tile so doesn't block C. Has an AOE D. Good SP Cycle E. Far stronger Crowd Control than Frostleaf
You're really really really underestimating how dogshit frostleaf is if you think earthspirit is anywhere near as bad.

hmm, the only 4 stars I use in IS4 are gummy(too lazy to manual heal using spot/cardigan) and myrtle(fang first, then change to myrtle if I have excess hope)

Very generally yes, but it won't translate 100%, for example may is the highest ranked sniper in is3 (stun is paramount) Jaye is much better in IS3 and myrtle is far lower ranked there (DP is less important) All casters are one level down (arts is bad)

Disagree about Estelle. She's much better than Popukar, one of the better units to carry you through floor 1 if you want a meme dysfunctional 6 star start.

deepcolor = IMBA, she can soloing some stages, totally imbalanced on integrated strategies (dp cost, tons of cheap summons). perfumer = IMBA, can heal ALL operators (mudrock, hellagur etc) and NPC too on global range.

Non-emergency prisoners stage can be cleared with e1 Viviana on diff15, but it's very unreliable. Good rng of her s2 and rng of the stage aligned less than a half of the time I tried. E2 clears it easily tho.
Outside of that Vivi was my favorite start pre-expansion because you actually needed to play properly to win leakless instead of falling asleep on first floor, but new map is just unplayable for her, and I see this map basically every run for some reason. Means you can easily get into the fork between NMtF and Beasts which guaranteeing leaks, or you just will be forced to skip more fights than you wanted to.
One more reason to hate expansion for me.

And prioritise my high rarity operator at that time and didn't know elemental damage
If you want higher rarity picks I recommend checking out dragongjy's IS guide. He goes over the best operators for each class. He also usually mentions an operator's performance in IS when he does an individual video reviewing them on their release.
From my personal experience, for IS3 Texas Alter is broken and for IS4 Ines and Typhon are especially excellent, in case you have those three. But there are many others that are good.

Myrtle is great yes... ONLY! In mid and late game I.S. why? In early game, most DP you need is never more than 33 dp to start putting your DPS unit or your blocker too especially floor 1. I'm not joking i rather pick fang instead of myrtle for early game and should be put at least a bit lower than must priority to get but it's different case if build for general content however 🙏
If by mid game you mean floor 3 you're correct.
I'd rather not bet on having more than one vg ticket by floor 3 so I wouldn't skip her.
Whatever you start with it should be able to deal with every F1 and F2 fight so there's no reason to skip an operator you need later anyway.
