Awesome content and great tips. Definitely agree on using them in dirty water especially effective bc most guys don't. If the water is always that way, the fish are used to it and find tiny crayfish and minnows. Great stuff, keep the vids comin'!!!
Picked up the most from Randy with his 50 degree water temp and his use of clear jerk baits on sunny calm day tips. I still wont throw any bait that costs $25 on 6 pound line though. One nick in that line that I picked up along the way and there goes my investment swimming away in a 4 pounders mouth. That 6 pound line just became 2 pound line. I'll stick with 10 lb minimum and get a few less bites. At least I know with the right drag setting, they're coming to the bank. LOL
I have ran into a scenario where I couldn't buy a bite jerking the bait. If I burnt it back to the kayak they would annihilate it. The burn pause is definitely in my arsenal when I'm working a jerkbait.
Thanks guys. Matt most of my fishing is off color tidal rivers. I can't seem to figure a jerkbait bite in the rivers. Ponds I do pretty well. I won't be throwing a pink jerkbait but louder colors my be the answer.
It’s hard for me to keep a jerk bait in my hand because I’m not confident in it. You guys have motivated me to make myself do it. I’ve got a box full of all types sizes and colors because I’ve always wanted to catch ‘em and his way but man it’s tough to not fall back on a top water in October or a trusty jig. I only get to fish once a week so I feel like I don’t want to waste time. But this week and next week I’m gonna do it! (Hopefully)
I like twitching a jerkbait on a slack line. Essentially, I'm just popping the slack out of it with my quick twitches. When I feel that line tighten up, I let up. I don't want big rod movements. I find that it causes my bait to dart and weave much better.
So my local So Cal city lake still measured 78 degrees this Saturday about mid-day. Bite was horrible all morning. Are they still sluggish as if Fall hasn't even hit yet?
Been throwing more megabass jerkbaits recently but man the factory hooks are garbage! What do you guys swap them with cause I'm tired of bent out hooks.. Thanks guys
why doesn't the Pacific Northwest ever get any love. it's like us bass fisherman that live up in Idaho, and Washington don't even exist I mean are there any pointers or tips for us or are we not good enough 😂

Once you overcome your fear of light line, you see you'll catch a bunch more fish. That's my experience
@@law1831 I never plan to learn to teach myself to lose $25 lures to 6 pound test line. Maybe that’s just a fear of going broke

I'm the exact same way. I've never caught a single bass on a jerkbait, but then again I don't throw one very often either 😅

In Ukraine we do it only that way, also we use braid mostly. Thanks

Can you start adding the FTM logo on the thumbnail photo? I’ve over looked this video several of times until I finally read the small print.
Excellent tips. Thanks for sharing. I am just starting with jerk baits.
I really need to have the jerk bait tied on more than I do. Thanks for sharing!

Do you ever change out the hooks on the megabass jerkbaits? If so, which hooks? G Finesse?
