I got my start in fishing 2 years ago watching a few of the googans but now I find content like yours and tactical bassin way more informative and helpful to get my still level up. I appreciate what you do, keep it up!
Googan squad is great for entertainment, BassHQ, kicking their bass tv, Tactical Bassin' and Tyler's Reel Fishing (TRF) are all the channels I go to for informative how-to's on techniques.
Totally agree! But one difference on this channel that I love is how little live scope is used - if at all. I personally have no interest in video game fishing.
I just started fishing jerkbaits for smallmouths the last month or so and have had pretty good success. I fish exclusively from the bank so I use the berkley hit stick since its a super slow riser. It really helps me from snagging since I fish a very snaggy, rocky lake here in Colorado. Thanks for the great tips on this video.
I started using last year the 6th sense Provoke 106x and I caught a lot of fish on it but I’m still learning how to use a jerkbait And I really enjoy informative videos like this to make me a better fisherman so thank you
Jerkbaits are crazy! I never picked up one before summer of 2021 and I been fishing since 1990. I lost a potential 6 pounder the first time I threw one then lost the bait. 6 months of practice later, I caught that sucker! 5.88 pounds on a jerkbait and now I always have one tied on. One major change I made was switching from a baitcaster to a spinning rod for this bait. Way better action! I will be looking into other brands (especially the megabass) next season. Right now it's all Googan Squad Scouts in yellow perch color killing it for me. Might try changing the hooks to get some sinking action like you mentioned here. Always informative videos! Keep it up!
Good stuff! I love jerk bait fishing with the Megabass 110's and the Berkley Jukes. I've watched a lot of videos on jerk bait colors and yours is the FIRST to explain that opaque means you can't see through it and translucent means you can see through it!
After years of no success with a jerkbait, I started using a spinning setup. It helped me a lot! Your tip at the end is going to make me try a small bait tied on the spinning set-up, and a larger one on a baitcaster.
I’m new to this style of fishing, and this is exactly what I experienced the other day when I went out fishing. I was wondering why there were multiple Shad dying and trying to stay alive on the surface. This tip of yours is going to help me out extremely the next time I go out on the water. Thanks, ~ Manny ~ 🤙🏼
Well Done! Excellent presentation on a subject that is pertinent right now. I've been fishing minnow imitators (Jerkbaits) since the 70's. I even use the same two brands of lures primarily. But I especially like the Rapala Shadow Rap SHAD in warmer waters. I do leave slack lay on the water unlike your style.
Really nice video. Here in Europe we also fish the Realis Jerkbaits from Duo. You should definetly check out the 120SP and the 100DR Realis Jerkbait. They work amazing for huge perch, zander and pike.
As usual , good stuff Thanks. My lake just got a thin ice layer here in Michigan so I’m going to be going into convulsions until it melts. But your videos help me get through the time.
Sup. Great video. I've been still catching bass, but I didn't change the cadence that much, makes sense when saw the dying shad! I will do the slower cadence retrieve. My other big problem now is have them so mixed up I don't remember which is which lol. So sometimes it's a little luck. Everytime I use 1 now I put in a baggy and label what it does until I can put in order lol. Ty tc
Waiting for water temps here in central Florida to cool, so I guess that gives me a little bit of time to grab some of those Stunna’s and give them a go. As always great content.
Tyler, have you thrown the red/orange stunna yet? I hear it’s a sleeper color through winter/spring. Bought one (sucker) but down here in TX, the jerk bite is just starting. Thoughts?
In the real cold water I noticed the slow sinking did usually get more action. I fish ponds and small lakes so i usually fish 60 to 70mm baits but do through the bigger ones some times.
I understand that shad jerkbiats can also be used in the summer too, when some shad varieties also start to die when the water gets too hot too quick, at least thats what I heard, how true is that?
Bro the slow sink is the magic sneaky sauce 😁 Got a vid coming from down here in FL where they thrashed a jerkbait but it had to be inching down when you paused it or the bigs wouldn't touch it!
Rapala Shad rap 11 slow sinking and Shad Rap 11 deep slow sinking are great jerk baits. Won a lot of money on them last season. You will need to have replacement hooks as they are light wire and will break if you catch a lot of drum on them in Erie.
What a tip. The counting tip makes so much sense, and is such a mindless thing that can be done to increase efficiency on the water and pick up on a trend. awesome…
Great video! Thank you for all the information. Would jerkbaits work for pond fishing where there are no shads that live in the pond. I don't have a boat and I only do bank fishing, and the ponds I fish only have bass, bluegills (breams), and catfish as far as I know.
Hey Tyler great stuff. Over the last few years I’ve worked and researched cold water jerkbaits to try and get better with them. I’ve even tried only gone out in the boat with just jerkbaits to try an learn them. Yourvids havehelped butcan you do another one and focus on detecting the strike. I get frustrated watching all these videos an a lot of them assume everyone knows what to do. Your help would be welcomed n even if some of your viewers could give their advice an experience to help me solve this issue an become a better cold water fisherman. Thx.
Hey Ray, you are right. That is something that is just kinda assumed when talking about techniques. I will be sure to start adding that to my future videos
Great video, I'm a jerkbait fanatic and always soaking up any new info, usually have three tied on deck, great idea on counting pause times, I really want to get some more stunnas but so heavily invested in vision 110s , when you changed out your hooks on the V110, what did you go with? noticed one of my vision 110 JRs was slow rising yesterday when I was out , was thinking of a suspend strip but new hooks might be better , any info is appreciated *Edit: just cost me $50 in new stunna jerkbaits , thanks man lol
That 1st bass isnt a keeper in my state...lol..I was fishing a summer tournament at Mark Twain lake 100+ degrees. Caught two nice keepers on the Matte Shade Stunna...
Berkley Stunna Jerkbait - rebrand.ly/aaw7o61
I enjoy using a jerkbait and I planned to try the Stunna. Just ordered 3 from Sportsman’s Outfitters using your link.
Got that Stunna 1/8/22 will be out with it next weekend here in northern California.
I don’t hear anyone talk about the -1 wiggle wart or other -1 baits
Is that just old school junk fish N..???

Same here :)

Same here man plus I haven’t found many informative channels that apply to my area

Great handbook for this type of fishing. Got some excellent value from this.

Just went to the sportsman outfitters page and bought some of these and they had my lews reel on sale. Thanks for all the videos.
Absolutely, they always seem to have some great deals! Thanks for checking them out!
Excellent¡!¡ This is the juice. Thank you. I know you have covered other aspects and will again.
Very descriptive and informative videos, good job
Thank you for the information. Hopefully, I will be able to put it to use real soon.
I like a slow sinker during the Winter. I usually use suspend dots to get the sink rate I like. Great vid thanx 👍
The stunna has been my go to this winter! Nice video!
Its a really solid jerkbait!
what are your favorite stunna colors?

Great teaching Ty thank you
Love the channel and your tips! Always helpful.
Nice. Yes slow sink like a Rapala Shadow Rap which I crush them on.
Great video. I appreciate your content.
Love the Bengals hoodie!!!! Who DEY!!!!
Great tutorial/ video! Have watched numerous jerkbait videos. This was one of the most informative. Keep up the great work!

Awesome video great info! Are you planning on fishing any BASS Opens this year?
Taking one more year off to focus on RUclips then gonna fish then again 2023
Great vid. The stunna works great, just as advertised. Picked up two and the price isn’t too bad. Couple dollars more than the rapalas I like to use.
What a tip. The counting tip makes so much sense, and is such a mindless thing that can be done to increase efficiency on the water and pick up on a trend. awesome…
Great information 👍 👌 Great video 📹
What do you think of berkly flicker shads? I never hear of you using them. Is there a specific reason?
FYI most of the Megabass vision 110+2s have a slow sink action. Not sure if it was by design or not but has been my experience.
Do you cast shallow to deep or more perpendicular to the steep drop off. I don’t normally have much luck with jerkbaits
Great information
Loved the video, keep up the great work
Good video buddy.
You're giving them the juice
Jerk baits are my go to baits for cold and warm water fishing followed by crank baits soft plastic worms are third on the list
Thanks for these videos! I have the 110s..what hooks did you switch to?
#6 Berkley Fusion19

Yes, I am actually planning to do a pond Jerbait video once the weather gets a tad warmer around here
@@BassFishingHQ Great! Looking forward to it!
I don’t know if you ever tried the Okuma Helios especially the 1st Gen but it’s definitely one of the most underrated rod in like, ever!!!
I have been extremely impressed with all of their rods. Very underrated Bass Rod brand
The Stunna is a game changer
This is a excellent video.

New Years was perfect, not a boat in sight👀
most excellent
Love it been getting a kot better at throwing a jerk bait and catching more fish
It definitely takes some patience at times but it is so good
Do you downsize for instance from a 110 to an x80 in the colder waters?$$$
Absolutely, I typically start with a 110 size and go down if I feel like the fish are following the bait
Great video dude. I definitely need to improve my jerkbait game
6#-8# flouro spinning rod. Best outfit. IMHO
Man I was I had more of the crankin sticks I’m not a fan of the new blue ones but I would love to find someone to sell me a bunch of the old ones
Some jerkbaits (or Swimbaits) have a wobble or shimmy when sinking. THAT might be the difference in catch-rate between a sinking and a suspending JB

I put #6 Berkley Fusion 19 on the 110. The jr may take #8s
@@BassFishingHQ Thanks, great price on those stunnas through your link, just bought 4 of them lol
All I gotta say is Megabass ito Vision 110 Jr and the same in the+1

My yozuri does just fine. Lol
The yozuri Jerkbait is a great bait as well!

I would kill for 42 to be ‘cold water’
Argh.. that Bengals jersey hurts me!
$25 a jerkbait is NOT worth it ..... you’ll think the same way after you lose 2 or 3 of em 🤣
