    I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you wrapped the chain stay correctly - seeing other RUclipsrs janky wrapping always upsets my OCD. Chapeau!

      Thanks man, it has to be done right and tight for me otherwise I can’t look at it, let alone go out and turn the pedals 😁

    I would have kept the original paint and what happened to the head badge, it's part of the bike's history!

    • @Downhillsmoothtarmac
      @Downhillsmoothtarmac  9 дней назад +1

      I did think about keeping the blue hammerite! But decided on a freshen up - got the headbadge ready to go back on too!

    • @johnhickman2033
      @johnhickman2033 9 дней назад +1

      @ So the blue wasn’t really the original - I’m guessing because you mention Hammerite and as far as I know that wasn’t used in the factory - correct me if I’m wrong!

      @@johnhickman2033 no it was metallic green originally I believe 🙂

    A really nice build and new life for that Dawes frame. I recently rescued a 60's lugged Dawes frame for which I have similar plans!

    How is the comfort on the C13 seat??
    (150km/ 90miles trips)

    • @Downhillsmoothtarmac
      @Downhillsmoothtarmac  11 дней назад

      I haven’t tried a C13 as yet, mines a C15 which I’ve used for years and it’s great for multi day rides. I’ve got a C17 too and that’s spot on - I’m a big fan of the cambiums all round

    • @vernerjuliussen2071
      @vernerjuliussen2071 11 дней назад +1

      @Downhillsmoothtarmac thx. 😃🙌 Never tried Brooks before, but since im doing long bike pack trips this year, I'm seriously considering it.
      I love my SelleItalia Boost (and the old plush MAX), but since I've never done longer multiple days on the saddle, I want something that's proven good. 😅🤞
      The B17 should also be a good one, but I'm not a fan of the look. The B360 on the other hand, suits my biks beter. 😊
      To many options. 😬

    • @Downhillsmoothtarmac
      @Downhillsmoothtarmac  11 дней назад

      Only way to go is to try one out! The one with the relief channel is a good option too - if you’re going for drop handlebars, go for the C15
