Like a lot of Nintendo playlists and mixes, I find myself coming back to this time and time again; unlike many others though, I feel like this one gives me a little slice of that era back when I need to so badly. Thank you so much for making this :3
Of course! I'm really happy you like it :) I come back to it a lot myself. I really only made it for me. I'm humbled that so many others enjoy as much as well.
It was the year 2003 and I was 8...I remember my parents getting me wind waker from our local sam's club and remember playing it nonstop exploring...truly my favorite title from the GameCube...but sunshine and Metroid prime were fantastic as well...
@@yoshi8869 I know! GameCube had incredible titles...wind waker, twilight princess, Mario sunshine, Metroid...little cube was a powerhouse in those days
As a 32 years old gamer, the Gamecube has brought me so so much joy. From Melee, my favourite game of all time, to Windwaker, Double Dash, Splinter Cell, Time Splitters 2, Nightfire, NFS Underground 2, SSX3, 1080° Avalanche, Def Jam Fight for NY, Sonic Adventures 2 Battle, Super Mario Sunshine, RE 4, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Super Monkey Ball, Viewtiful Joe, etc... What a console.
For real, there were so many All-times on the Gamecube. the best versions of so many games were on the cube. It might not have preformed super well against the competition at the time, but its still one of the greatest consoles ever made. Not to mention nearly all of its games aged like fine wine comparatively. I still play them to this day, I own nearly every game again physically. so much fun!
@@drewdadew Nintendo had the foresight to know that chasing 3D graphics performance is a race to the bottom. Instead, they focused on good game design and art style. Those never age poorly. ;)
Thank you!! I really loved making it :) It was originally just for me to listen to casually while I write and read, but I'm so glad it's struck so many others too!
Oh man I’m gettin old. 😂 Thanks for putting this together. Brings back a lot of memories of my ass dragging the GameCube around wherever I went. Forcing it on my friends n family. Nintendo always has the JAMS. And thanks Iwata! That was the start of his era.
Perfect playlist of music to jam to at work. GameCube is my childhood and I will forever love the console. Beautiful work on this, love the music choices! Forgot about a good few of these, so it’s nice to have those memories revisited!
I'm always skeptical of people using maximalist terms like "Ultimate", but then I heard the iconic sounds at 0:00 and looked at the description. You nailed it.
That was the last decision I made when I edited this way back in 2019. When I remembered it and found the footage, I hadn't heard the little jingle probably since I was 9. All I have to say is same, bro. Same.
@@yoshi8869 I think you've convinced me to play some Nintendo games after I finish the few PC games I'm in the middle of. From the screenshots, Metroid Prime looks like fun 😄
This is by far the most diverse playlist and the songs chosen are amazing thanks for this mix. I really love the tunes from a thousand year door that game is so much fun.
Damn, so much nostalgia. I think it's safe to say I mostly grew up on Gamecube, Gameboy/DS, and Playstation 2. Though, I also played my fair share of N64 games too I suppose, and PS1 (though I played them on the PS2). Some SNES too... Still, Gamecube and PS2 are the ones that hold the most nostalgia for me I think. Like, Kirby's Air Ride, Windwaker, Pokemon Colosseum, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon: AWL, Melee, those were my jams! 🥲
The animal crossing loading screen is hard for me to listen to. Makes me teary eyed remembering the hours I’ve spent in the OG animal crossing, it’s still my favorite one in the series.
man, i was looking at my other monitor while this played and when i looked back i lowkey thought i was playin some melee and went fora controller XD what a trip
I remember that by the time the GameCube came out, I was still playing Sega genesis & Super Nintendo games, and the games that were on the platform really looked "Next Gen", since I skipped playstation and N64.
Maybe it’s a silly thought, but I would like to imagine that after this life we can all relive these feelings we had when playing these games from our past. Also I didn’t expect NBA Courtside 2002! I still even have my original copy that I got as a kid! Now it’s more of memorabilia for Kobe to me, than my childhood sadly. That menu theme was a banger fs
Christmas Day 2001. My favorite Christmas ever was when I got the GameCube and then got Smash Melee the day after. My mother told me to not go and sell it if I ever get tired of it because she paid good money on it. And guess what? I still have it till this day 😂 Kept my promise.
I miss the Chao Garden music from the heaven. Pikmin’s first stage song was very relaxing to. I remember! But the song I would literally leave my gamecube on to listen to used to be the saving room from Resident Evil 1 remake for gamecube. Bonus tracks from Beautiful Joe, final fantasy crystal chronicles and Mario Kart double dash will never stop haunting me.
Against all critics, the gamecube was an era never to be brought back, no DLCs, no in-game markets, no updates every day, just quality by pushing the power button. The 486 MHz CPU speaks for itself. Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes were the best looking games at that time, but the gameplay and music composers really nailed it!

overall a nice list, but I'm genuinely disappointed to not see baten kaitos not represented here, sure it wasn't a major title, but it was a gamecube classic and it had a really nice OST
Gamecube era possibly was the best era of gaming. Nintendo offered some really revolutionary stuff in the gaming industry.

Wind waker intro had me in chills and tears. Where did all that time go?
I honestly miss this era of gaming.
Not just Nintendo, but the whole gaming industry in general felt so...Passionate here.
Agreed! So much time went into the story and the immersion. It was creative passion. Today, it just feels like it's all about the money...

Man where did all the time go !? I started tearing up hearing the Super Monkey Ball and Wind Waker themes 😭
