TXHCBA for 2025. Introduction by Deanne Cox and main presentation by Johnny Cox. Great
overview of their nuc and queen rearing operation. Great history and advice from decades of
experience. "I am not a scientist, I am a beekeeper". Interesting observation and comment on
how the science has tended to change throughout the years. Fascinating comments
throughout the presentation on the effect of temperature on gestation, location of queen cell,
brood survival, etc. Over 1000 colonies managed! Importance of balance and definition of a
nuc versus a colony. Description of various nucs and "spam can" measurement to determine
minimum number of bees to support a queen in a baby nuc. Nuc installation and
maintenance. (Langstroth) follower board and then Q&A. Great presentation!
