Stay safe!!! I've been waiting for this vid, very much appreciated. I don't have a shop yet, but getting ever closer... when I do I'll be ordering several of these kits.
@@HouseMadeUS Just made one of these today, using one of your ball peen hammers. Super high quality everything, and very fun to make! Thank you for all you do.
Hope you came out fairly unscathed from Milton. You’ve done a lot for the community of knife makers and we appreciate you. I will definitely pick up a kit or three to support you
Dang, I was hoping to see several minutes of Bryan showing off the versatility of the Tsunami on that pan. Maybe after Milton passes and hopefully the Feds aren't seeding the storm like they did for Helene here in Western North Carolina. I'll keep my eyes open for that video later, if my internet stays up.
@@HouseMadeUS I understand that it’s already pressed in the kit, but if we want to make a second and have a series of round blanks already, can the swage to used to effectively make the side walls of a fresh blank?
What kind of steel is the pan made from? I've done some research and heard varying things, but what I've found is mentioned the most is that carbon steel pans are around 0.1% carbon. I feel like something more around a medium carbon might be a better choice, although it's not like these are actually heat treated so maybe it doesn't matter so much? Just curious what you're actually using for these things though.
between a coated pan with almost no maintenance and which does not stick and an iron pan which will surely stick and rust, and where it will be necessary to burn fats, my choice is quickly made. Especially since on Amazon in addition we find cheaper without working.

I’m excited to get my kit in the mail after Milton passes. Question: have you tried to use the swage to create the walls of the pan too?
The pan is already pressed out, the swage is just used for texturing the side walls. Thank you for the order! 🙏🏼

@CaptCorpMURICA with heat it may be possible. I've not done it but it should be possible.
@@HouseMadeUS, I’ll give it a shot and let you know. I have some scrap rounds that I could turn into some pans.
