It is if you work with it like he did… he use Live Photos and fill in the gaps by morphing objects or use templates like moving objects then use ai to transform in to next object he use ai just go one pic to next and transform it in to a video
Even if you ignore the ethical issues, training and using AI uses so much water and energy. The big greedy tech companies would rather have us ooh and ah over stuff like this and ignore the toll it takes on the environment.
AI does not equate art. It is the antithesis of art. Now if he could say 100% of these visual elements were created by him then okay. But the AI algorithms that they use steal other people’s actual original art and designs and aesthetic and make copy cat algorithmic art based on a few phrases or other images or videos which more than likely do not belong to the artist. This can include the use of textures, prints, styles, fonts, etc. even peoples faces or images of their body. So just saying.
And yet an “artist” can duck tape a banana and sell it for over $6million. I think art can be anything at this point. Art can be cooking, construction, cleaning, etc.
