- A peaceful and magical sunrise ✨✨welcomes Khanyisa, Adine and the Jabulani Herd, as they set out for a morning in the wilderness.
It has been some time since we have shared some footage of the elephants foraging, and so we made this video a lovely and lengthy one, to fully immerse yourself in the moment :-)
Adine shares some insights into Limpopo, Bubi, Timisa and Klaserie along the way.
Many people have missed the special moments between Bubi and Khanyisa, so you will no doubt enjoy their moments together, alongside Lundi too!
Please consider donating towards HERD and the Jabulani Elephant Care Covid-19 crisis fund; you can partake in our latest fundraising campaign, which includes a competition to win a stay at Jabulani: See here for more info: chuffed.org/pr...

the most beautiful sunrise
There is nothing that compares with elephants really, they are unique.
I have found peace in watching your videos. Elephants are magical. The herd love is so there.
What a privilege to stand amongst so many precious giants! Thank you!!
My God! It's amazing!!! The elephants are so beautiful!!!
Its wonderful to see them free and cared for. Thank you to all the helpful staff
Another breathtaking photograph.
My favorite part of the day is watching the Herd before sleep 💕💕
Beautiful sunrise ☀️🌄 with beautiful creation of God ❤️❤️
Love these moments. I have walked with elephant herds in Africa & Asia. Like cetaceans, and mountain gorillas, elephants are truly special. A gentle sentient species led by the wise matriarchs. No chains, no suffering, no pain. No captivity, no enslaved elephants. And no abuse from humans. However, these human carers do a great job. If only the rest of humanity would choose to respect nature, other species, and see how truly special elephants are. We could learn much from this sentient species.
I love hearing their rumblings.
All regular viewers are learning a great deal about elephant lives.
These elephants are truly amazing.
The African ellie names are so beautiful. What a dreamy lifestyle. Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your lives and elephant experiences with us.
Thank you so much!
What a magnificent sight!
Thank you Adine, for all your wise words. I always learn from you. ♥️
Such a gentle group of beautiful giants! They seem so peaceful and happy.
Thank you so much! 😊
Pure magic for the soul. I was having an anxiety filled morning until I came across this video. In these beautiful images, little Khanyisa is so magical bringing everyone out of darkness and into her light. She shines brighter than the sun. Thank you for filling my heart with hope and love. All elephants are magical! 💘 🐘
Maggie Chretien She is our little secret therapy ...
Maggie Chretien I hope you are feeling a better ~ know there are people who care even if, like me, they live on the other side of the world.
Hope you are feeling better now, Maggie. So happy we give you some ease from often a hard world!
Good morning to Adine, and the rest of the herd family
Every time I watch an elephant video, I could never get over how magnificent they are. We are so lucky to witness them free and unchained. They don't belong in circuses or zoos. They belong in a land where they can roam.
Absolutely - lots of land is needed for large animals! That is half the battle in a growing population - humans sadly overtaking the natural world.
@@herdelephantorphanage We used to have millions of bison roam my state of South Dakota, USA. They grazed much like elephants do and need a lot of land. Now they number only in the thousands 😢.
As I'm watching this a second time I'm realizing that this really is precious coverage giving us all a unique understanding and appreciation of these wonderful creatures.
Adine is like a mother to Khanyisa . Helping us all to love the beauty of elephants.
That is very sweet. Love that comment thank you
These majestic slow moving creatures are calming to watch. I thank all of you for your work! 💗💗💗
Lovely! Wonderful elephants!
This is such a thought provoking video and an insight into the behaviour of the elephants. The moral of the story is that love always wins.
Thank you for your words of wisdom Adine! Usually children WILL bring peace to the family! Beautiful morning! Thank you and the staff for your service and caring for these amazing creatures!😍🙏🏻❤️✌️💪
Oh my goodness, this would be my dream job. I'd love to meet these majestic beauties. Xx
Just watching them walk is hypnotic.
It totally IS! and very restful & calming... 😑😑♥️😑

Oh, I just love the way she greets everyone, her trunk and her ears, and how she move her head! I love her so much♥️
Watching little Khanyisa trustingly following her then new family is so touching. Bless her.
Beautiful sunrise and lovely sunsets. Aah Africa. ❤
I always enjoy Adine’s stories about the elephants. There were quite a lot of stories in this video that were quite interesting. Thank you!❤️
Yes. I particularly like the story about how Bubi and Lundi's "relationship" was strained due to their sons getting into some tussles and how Khanyisa is bringing the Moms back together.
Thank you so much!!
❤️
I could watch this particular video 100 times. It is really nice to have a history of the lives of all of the elephants. Thank you ☺️
I think I HAVE watched it at least 20 times.....so calming AND interesting...😑😑😑
THANK YOU for All the peaceful hours I have spent with Knisysa and you herd and you
While it would be lovely to meet elephants face to face it is also very lovely seeing these videos as we can see them living together living as family & interacting as personalities.
Adine, you have the most beautiful voice.... Calming...almost like music... I could listen to you all day...the voice and the stories of that little ray of sunshine...I find it difficult not to weep while listening and watching my kids kno who I've been watching...you are all terrific. .and I was happy to see the young lady get her driver's license... Everybody is growing up!!!
The sunrise and journey for elephants 🙏😊
Another amazing video. thank you 😊 xx good morning all
Good morning Emma! Have a great day! 😊
and you ☺
I love to hear the stories about all the herd thank you so much for sharing these wonderful memories
Our pleasure!
Adine, I don't know how you can tear yourself away from a wonderful morning with the elephants to attend meetings. Thank you for the interesting insights
When you first see Khanyisa you think Wow, she is really getting big. And then you see her next to the others...lol
Perspective!
Same feeling
@@herdelephantorphanage...Relativity!
WHEN IS THE RAIN GOING TO COME?
sometimes video makes small elephants look big unlike tiger or lion cubs which is very obvious
The more I study and observe and appreciate Ele's the more I am convinced that this is true. Elephant instinct is something far superior to that of humans, and maybe, most all other animals. I have seen them instinctively do things that even I as a person would never think of, and it comes so naturally. I LOVE THEM BEYOND WORDS.
They are incredible animals. Beyond our realm of appreciation!
They are so wonderful and sweet
Wish I could be there with them
Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE at HERD!!!!🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃
A beautiful sunrise 🔆😍💕
Truly magical and lovely: The narrative; Khanyisa, unknowingly, bringing Bubi and Lundi closer. The sunset clothing the herd in beautiful browns. Thank you for sharing.
Dear ones, I only discovered your videos a few days ago and I have to say you are just amazing.
Thank you for all the love you give the elephants.
Thanks to Adine for her wise words that keep me thinking and remind me of conversations with my friends.
My heart is overflowing right now and my fingers are not fast enough to write all that I feel.
Let us all hug you lovingly.
Grateful greetings from Germany
Can you imagine growing up being protected at all times by a family that looks like this?!?!?!? The HERD?!?!?! Khanisa must feel so safe, loved, and protected at all times, because she knows NO ONE would dare mess with her family - but if and when they do, TRUST, they will be up for a battle of their lifetime. These gentle giants are walking tanks, but with the sweetest most loyal and loving hearts. Again, far superior to human beings in my mind on so many levels. We don't deserve them... but they are here, some still manage to trust us after what we have done to them... we share this Earth, we MUST protect them and keep THEM SAFE NO MATTER WHAT... So wonderful...
Beautiful words!
@@herdelephantorphanage Thank you for all you do for these beautiful creatures. We as humans need to intervene in order to save them. To see the horrific wounds on this baby and then to see her healed both physically and emotionally is amazing. Thank you for all you do.
Totally agree.....these beautiful creatures and in fact all of mature is here for us to share live with and learn from.....there is always learning!
Thank you Adrestia Nyx for your wise words & kind comment. Ellies take my breath away, they are magical & amazing creatures & have so much to teach us. God bless Adine & the staff & helpers at Herd Elephant Orphanage in South Africa, all the people at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya & 'Lek' Chailert & her team at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand, as well as all the smaller places & people worldwide that care for & protect ellies, rhinos & other wildlife. These people are angels on earth & I am in awe of their hard work & the love & dedication they show to these animals. And dont forget the people who donate to this cause, either financially or by volunteering their time to help. I salute you all, from the bottom of my heart. Without you all, the world would be a darker place...
I love to watch this herd....like I have said before it makes my day.
Fantastic to be reminded of too! it motivates us!
Thank you for giving us more background into some of the dynamics with the other ellies. Truly a life time of learning from them.
Such a pleasure, Linda
She looks healthier and happy day by day... Go ahead and enjoy ur life khanyisa..
Thank you Divya
What a smart baby! 👏I love watching all the pictures! Bless you all!
… these gentle giants are so deserving of our understanding, protection and love. They teach us what patience, understanding, loyalty and trust are in their purest form. To think that these majestic creatures may cease to exist because of human indifference and greed is obscene! Humanity itself would do well to reassess its’ responsibility to ALL living creatures that share this world.
Lundi’s tail is gorgeous!
Always heartwarming videos bless you x
Thank you Shona
Stay safe and healthy...all of you, humans & Ellies!
🧡✌🧡
How she recovered from those snare injuries is a miracle. She must have trusted you all implicitly. She is such an amazing little elephant. So funny and confident too. Such an amazing job done by all who are involved in her care, including the other elephants. They are also an integral part of how her life is becoming.❤️❤️❤️❤️
She definitely already had love and trust in her heart to be able to accept it. Remember poor Fenya? I know she may have been more I'll, but, she was much less trusting than Khanyisa.
I loved Fenya.
Timisa is such a beautiful elephant.
Elephants plus philosophy from Adine on an early South African morning. Nice.
Those low rumbles are so powerful, elephants are so smart.
They quiet the soul!
I have enjoyed this video so much Adine. Your words are indeed wise. The effect that little Khanyisa is having on the whole herd as well as all of the carers seems to be huge. When you call her little Miss Sunshine it makes me smile. The impact that she innocently has on Bubi and Lundi is wonderful too. It makes me think of how my sister and I mothered our children. If one of our kids needed prompting we felt free to do that with each other's children. It was always done with love. Watching the Jabulani herd each morning is one of the brightest spots for me during this time that keeps us from our friends and loved ones. Like you said, there is a reason that everything happens, and we must make the best of what we have been given. Thank you for allowing us a glimpse into your special lives.
Thank you for such a heartfelt and sincere comment!
Love you talking in this video. Educating us on how they each have a personality is beautiful. And yes ma'am, she's an angel and a ray of bright sunshine to all of us. Thank you!
I love this little baby.
Thank you so much for sharing with us. Beautiful 🥰
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos!
Our pleasure!
You are a blessing to the elephants and a blessing to us.
I just think the way they have accepted the orphan's as their own proves how amazingly loving and generous these animals are. Humans could learn a lot from them. I'm so obsessed, they are just so magnetic. Xx
I have never been in a position to hear about how elephants relate. Until discovering the work of Adine and HERD. I am pleasantly surprised at how complex the relationships between the elephants are
There are a lot of similarities between the way human mothers behave near their friends’ children and how the elephants behave. For example a group of human mothers take their children for a “play date” at a park. The kids will go off and run around being children. The mothers will sit and chat being mothers. Then there’s a sign conflict is about to break out between the children. In seconds the closest mother will be at the side of the children ready to referee the disagreement. She will do it because she’s closest, not necessarily because one of the children is her own It’s all part of teaching the children how to get along with others. These elephants are doing the same thing. They don’t care that Khanyisa doesn’t have family here -she’s part of the herd and they’ll all bring her up. The adults will all watch her trying things, letting her make mistakes but being there to make sure she doesn’t get hurt in the process. I watched a video the other day where they were all having a swim in the dam. The adults were letting khanyisa flounder around struggling to stay upright in the water, but letting her try to figure out what to do by herself. But at no time was she more than a trunk’s length from rescue if it had been needed. I find this simultaneously fascinating, pleasing and thrilling to watch as the little one has fun learning how to cope with the world around her. Thank you so much Adine and all the rest of the folks in and around HERD
I ❤ these longer videos where Adine shares the elephant stories with us. It's great to learn about the elephant's ❤🐘 Thank you & i hope you all have a wonderful day
Delighted to know they are appreciatd - thank you Missy Moo!
I can see that Khanyisa gives this unique herd that precious little hope of offspring a herd lives for; what a little miracle she really is.
SO true, Barbara!
All children of the World should have the Chance to be raised in sourounding live this.
Your wise words are very soothing. I love hearing about the personalities of the different elephants in the herd.
I LOVE THESE STORIES!!!! Thank You Adine!!
Kumbura is really taking Khanyisa to her heart..wonderful to see this anxious girl take such an interest in the baby. As for the sunrise..pure,unadulterated bliss! What I would give to witness that in person! Thank you for another brilliant vid, the story telling/ explanations are brilliant..helps us understand their behaviour towards each other & their relationship with Adine & the herdsmen.❣️🏴🇬🇧
Kumbura has been outstanding with Khanyisa - she is such an amazing and selfless elephant. So So proud of her and how far she has come. Thank you, Chris
HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa its all down to your hard work, knowledge & 100% commitment......these beauties would have faced a pretty awful future,if any, without Adine & the Herdsmen.❣️🏴🇬🇧
HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa I have to admit..when watching your vids..after checking Khanyisa...I then look for Kumbura & Pisa.....both having been described as anxious.....it’s wonderful to see Kumbura blossom, along with the baby .....now it’s time to concentrate on Pisa......so please can we have a special article on this nervous beauty? ❣️🏴🇬🇧
Hermoso momento un paisaje espléndido Khanyisa 🐘♥️
Adore seeing the trust and contentment in the elephants eyes and their love for Adine and greeting her with their trunks.💚🐘💕🐘💜
Special moments!
The little one will never be alone again and this is a gift that the herd and these great people gave her.
Thank you for your thoughts. 🙏🏻💗
Any time!
Thank you for the video. I enjoy hearing you tell about the elephants while we’re watching. Little Khanyisa has been as much of a blessing to the herd as they have been to her ❤️🥰. How beautiful 🐘💕.

Hi all
I noticed the land is so parched and trees were all dead. .. Has the weather been that hot this season... Or is this the normal bush they live in their entire lives.
I see the elephants in Thailand in the lush green jungles but I guess the African elephants have to survive in a much dryer climate with less rain. I see a big difference in the skin texture and color between the two types of elephants.
Was just curious..
Thank you herd!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
I could watch them all day long.
Absolutely lovely. As always.
Thank you so much 😊
This is so beautiful!!
I so agree I'll never get to walk with these beautiful elephants but these videos bring such joy to me
So instructive, dear Adine. Many thanks for all these informations, so we can learn about each and every elephant. The watching is balm for the soul. :)
Oh my goodness look at these beautiful creatures!! 5:57 looks like a scene from a movie! So beautiful.. I hope everything can be done to protect these precious animals.
Thank you! Yes their protection is our priority
How happy they r no chains no pain freedom n a caring team may all animals should b lucky as they r love u baby k
Africans don't seem to chain their elephants. More chained elephants in Asia.
T buji no
Stunning!
Looks like a painting in sepia tones!
Thank you! 😊
Just love this herd they are all so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU ALDINE !
It's lovely to be able to go on these amazing walks with these beautiful, majestic animals. I still can't get over how they are so huge yet so quiet when they walk! I love getting up close and personal with the eles. Gorgeous filming, thank you! 😁🐘 x
Such a pleasure - thank you! When the wind is noisier than a 4 ton elephant walking by!
I love how they protect the young
What a lovely video and thank you Adine for the explanation🥰
They seemed to walk right to the sun ,it was so beautiful!💕🐘💕
