@@traiiinwreckk HeE played with Primus for a short while and their Les Claypool can give him a run for his money I'm sure XD ruclips.net/video/0mCY88iuzo0/видео.html
I think buckethead and hendrix are the only two guitarists that, when I hear them play, it's almost like they're speaking through their instruments... and that's my favorite type of music, no vocals, just pure emotion expressed through an instrument
As many other people have been suggesting: Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize (live in Tilburg). Simply amazing. Steve Vai - Tender Surrender. Sex with a guitar. I would like to add: Neal Morse - The Door. Long but epic journey. Camel - Snow Goose Excerpts. Great 70s prog.
You should definitely listen to these albums by Buckethead, Colma, Electric Tears, Electric Sea. That is his most calm and beautiful albums in my opinion. If you want to listen to his rock albums, try these, Giant Robot, Monsters and robots and perhaps Crime Slunk Scene.
I'm sure there must be people that just don't "get" him but for those of us that do he's so much more than a musician. I've never had my soul touched by music the way it is when he plays. I don't understand it and to be perfectly honest I don't care to, I'm just happy that it is.
Buckethead is a beast for sure. I heard that he has had some heart issues lately. I hope he gets better. He's such a smooth player. Definitely top ten .
Let's throw some stuff at you that you might not know: The Ocean - The Grand Inquisitor II: Roots & Locusts (Live at Denver 2011) (prog metal) Haken - 'Celestial Elixir' Live at PPUSA XII (prog rock) Russian Circles - 309 - Empros Live Studio Sessions (instrumental awesomeness) Rainbow - Stargazer (holy moly the vocals from DIO)
Not bad for a 50 year old man right! He is playing a custom Gibson Les Paul only made in 2010. The two red buttons you see are kill switches. That's how he can get some very unique sounds from it. Buckethead is one of the top five best guitarist's ever. I am dying of Stage 4 Lung Cancer and my last wish is to see him perform live. I would go out happy.
I mean last year he released an album every day in October counting down til Halloween. So on Oct 1st, he released "31 days til Halloween" and so on. On November 1st? He released "364 Days til Halloween"
If you're interesting in checking out some more buckethead I'd recommend you check out the song Nottingham lace (the RUclips video version, simply titled "Nottingham lace")
if i could was traped on a deserted island and could only listen 2 one song for the rest of my life it would be this one. Is a masterpiece of technique and song writing.
Vet kanaal dude keep it up!
My two favorite guitarists are David Gilmour and Buckethead. Complete opposites but Gilmour can say more with one note and a bend than most can with 10 notes and Buckethead can play 20 notes before others play 10
He has a series of albums calls "pikes" they aren't counted with the official number of albums. And he has about 300 pikes so together with the official albums that's a lot. And if you add all the albums he made with other artists it'll probably be more than 500...
Would like to suggest Versailles, there best song according to me is "Faith and decision". And it has never been reacted to on YT, Maskarade and Destiny - The lovers is also good songs by them.
If you really loved this one you should check out Gary Moore - Loner (Live at the Hammersmith Odeon). Another giant amazing solo guitar work by another amazing guitarist.
"He has released 300 studio albums, four special releases, and one EP. He has also performed on more than 50 other albums by other artists." - Wikipedia Guess he missed "300". xD
I really wish you would check out the long list and new history of joe Bonamassa. The best blues guitarist of all time to date. Even BB King gave him props. Hopefully you wil study a bit before diving on in.
I'd heard of this guy but never actually heard him. Great guitar player! Not sure about the fried chicken bucket and mike Myers mask though. I know that's his whole shtick, just seems bizarre to me. Guess he doesn't want people to see him like Slipknot. Off topic, but I was surprised when Corey Taylor started Stone Sour and you actually got to see what he looked like. Bands that wear masks / makeup just seem cheesy to me. With the exception of Alice Cooper since he started that whole thing.
The masks are tied to the music as a bit of theater for the audience. What matters most is the music still, although a little cheese does work sometimes.
Corey Taylor formed Stone Sour before Slipknot. They only wear the masks because they wore them as a joke when they went into talk to record execs when they got their 1st record deal and they told them not to wear the masks, so they said fuck that and made the masks central to their look.
He's extremely shy, crippling in fact. This is the only way he can preform in front on people. So I say hooray for cheesy masks and a bucket. Musical genius.
This is not a reaction. You are just smiling and nodding your head with a few words like "Wow". You might be "reacting" to the song, but you aren't really adding anything to it.
I always think Bucketed is so over rated. He's had at least 10 guitar teachers and thats the best he can do. I prefer either my own versions, or the versions of Michael Shulman. Michael has so many versions, some ok and some amazing, so watch them all. Unlike Buckethead they're all much more complete and finished.
There is some footage of him playing bass. He shreds out on the bass as good as he does guitar. He also breaks out nun-chucks during his performances.
Jamie Perdue yeah that video is tight, I have never seen someone slap a bass that good and can do the same with a 6 string lol

Give Joe Satriani a listen. "Love Thing" and "Until We Say Goodbye" are just a couple of awesome from his Live In San Francisco album.
AWE YEAH. that was quick. haha this song is so badass. thanks for playing my suggestion.
As many other people have been suggesting:
Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize (live in Tilburg). Simply amazing.
Steve Vai - Tender Surrender. Sex with a guitar.
I would like to add:
Neal Morse - The Door. Long but epic journey.
Camel - Snow Goose Excerpts. Great 70s prog.
Mark Jackson or Guthrie Govan wonderful slippery thing.
Living legend, still waiting to see him in concert!
Anesthetize by porcupine tree is so mindblowingly good, one of the best songs ever written!
Thank you Ruben, glad to hear you enjoyed it. You have the best reactio videos on youtube, keep it that way.
I could literally listen to this sound until the end of days and not get tired of it.
50 Albums? More like 500!
He has 60 now, by the time you read this comment he will have 68
over 300 now
305
HE has over 300, but they aren't quality albums, most of them are Jam sessions, not albums lol.
the buckethead guitar talks to our soul
Aunt Suzie is a super emotional one by Buckethead!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Thanks mate for this one. I mean it, I got goosebumps listening to this :)
I've always referred to this song as "the calm before the storm"
You should definitely listen to these albums by Buckethead, Colma, Electric Tears, Electric Sea. That is his most calm and beautiful albums in my opinion.

Seeing Buckethead live in Sacramento for New Year's Eve tomorrow!
I'm sure there must be people that just don't "get" him but for those of us that do he's so much more than a musician. I've never had my soul touched by music the way it is when he plays. I don't understand it and to be perfectly honest I don't care to, I'm just happy that it is.
And I wonder what it is exactly that touches us so deeply? Perhaps it is a memory of our spiritual home, a kind of soul family?
Buckethead is a beast for sure. I heard that he has had some heart issues lately. I hope he gets better. He's such a smooth player. Definitely top ten .
True, I heard the interview where he talks about it. Very nice guy, down to earth, I wish him the best!
Think he had a surgery to insert a pacemaker to help him with his heart rhythm issues.
steve vai -tender surrender!
fuck yeah !
I was just about to say that. That's such a good video reaction surely :D
Enjoy the over 250 albums he's done
carljthatsme94 really? Goddamn!
Nick Colbert Yessir. Over 100 albums in 2015 alone (118 total I think). The guy's work rate is absolutely unreal

Brilliant suggestion!

Yeeesss!!! One of the best instrumentals in rock/metal history.
toki wartooth. You ever heard of Michael Shulman. Check out his soothsayer on youtube. He's got many versions, some ok and some amazing. Peace to you.

his album count is actually over 300 not counting guest guitarist on side projects.Thanatopsis is a side project that is really good
I like the studio version more, it seems more... emotional.
You're joking right???

Buckethead - Welcome to Bucketheadland or Buckethead - Notthingham Lace

Check out Estas Tonne- The Song of the Golden Dragon :) won't regret it haha
Sometimes you've gotta ask yourself, "How does it feel to know you'll never be this good at anything?" My answer is always, "Well feels shitty." lol
Smithysmithin the question I ask about everything nowdays is simply, "but does it Buckethead?"
Smithysmithin with that attitude yes you are correct. if you ignore people and play nonstop this is possible years and years of hard work

what rock have you been living under youve never heard any of this music?.....soothsayer is not the right song to be introduced to Buckethead
Not the best live version, could do without the lame dancing on stage. Watching Buckets playing is more erotic, lol.
