I am truly happy when I hear such words . I never thought of these videos as entertaining material . Only trouble shooting . But surprisingly more and more fellow riders/bikers are falling in love with my DIY videos . Just glad that everyone is getting into this mindset of fixing their own motorcycles.
Hi.The factory battery is an amaron. Replaced it after 2 years with the amaron 8A 12v. Now time has come to replace again after 2yrs. I don't think issue is of the battery but of the bike. Most owners complain that charge depleted very quickly even when the bike was parked and not used for some time. Come to realize it is due to leakage current. Also the fuel pump and the AHO drain a lot of battery which reduces its life and load bearing capacity. One solution is to connect the headlight to a switch and keep the kill switch to off on turning the ignition on. But I would have liked it if my battery would last for long so that in case I keep it parked even for 3 days or a month could have the confidence it would start with one crank. Just one of the flaws of living with the Himalayan. Now have to deal with my alternator because battery is not charging to 14v on running. Getting a max output of 12.9 which reduces on turning the headlight on. Any suggestions please
Hi Ben I would like to address one issue, I have a BS4 Himalayan and just yesterday my magnetic coil was completely burnt and had to replace the coil, after reading on the internet came to know this is a common issue faced with all Himalayans, don't know whether you have faced this issue or not but it would be really helpful as to why this happens and if there is any solution for the same. Looking forward to your next video 👍
I too faced the same issue and changed the coil under warranty. Also maintaining the oil level under check is essential. use good oil which also cools down effectively
Stop asking regarding this issue he does not seem to know the reason or the solution .All he could do is to change the battery , no problem for him he is rich and loves to spend money
Hi Ben, do you think I can install this same 8 amps battery in my Aprilia Sr 150 scooter or will it be an overkill for it? Since I am running KTM RC projectors as my main headlight, it consumes a lot of power. The stock battery which I have is of 12 volts 4amps which gets drained out pretty fast. Amaron also has a 5amps battery for scooters. But I am not sure whether 5amps battery will be able to supply enough power for the lights.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Oh ok got it. Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I have switched the halogen bulbs that come stock in the projectors with the Nighteye leds.
Another query ben.... Do you have issue with battery discharge if bike not in use for more than 4 days... Service center claims this is due to additional accessories like fog lamp.... I installed mad dog fog lamp with relay wiring harness..... But this issue is pretty bothering
Reason: I have GPS & fuelx pro connected to battery & it looks like it drains the battery fast. Within 3 or 4 day the bike battery goes from 13.2 to 12.2 when parked.
Hello ben. It's been 3 years i bought Himalayan and the battery went dead for second time this year. Would you recommend to change the battery or just charge it back again? I've charged the battery at very first time when the battery's dead

Hey Ben! Thanks for these videos. Have you tried batter chargers or trickle chargers? Any idea on which one is ideal for Himalayan battery?
I have shares of this company and have faith in its growth in the future EV revolution of batteries. 😀
It will def beat every other manufacturer soon . Once this becomes the FACTORY battery then you are looking at a huge

I wanted to go for LI Ion battery but price is unreasonable
Get a NEW rectifier and you will not have ghost draw ( leakage )

Hey Ben, what’s the difference between 8amps and 9amps.. as in tilts more amps so better kinds?..
More capacity ( not power )
At what intervals we have to top up the distilled water ( If we have to ) ?

Batteries are vehicle ( wiring / load/ model ) specific .not a good idea to jump that high
5 amps is more suited . Try to decrease the wattage of the bulbs inside the projector

Why does the positive end get connected first and then the negative terminal ?
if the negativ cable is connected first and then the the positiv wire , by accident you touch the frame with your tool, you will have a fat short

Hi ben 👋, quick question... Is it possible to install 9ah battery in Himalayan 😅? Is there any size diffrence between 8ah & 9ah battery?
Reason: I have GPS & fuelx pro connected to battery & it looks like it drains the battery fast. Within 3 or 4 day the bike battery goes from 13.2 to 12.2 when parked.
For Fleettracker GPS both +ve & -ve is directly connected. For Fuelx pro Only -ve is directly connected.
9 A in certain models in the past were the same size . I can’t seem to find one nowadays
