Have you cut that flower type wood on the 20 watt Vison? I would like to know what settings worked for you I have some white coated and the white holds some of the residu and occasionally it is either coming off or burning off. I can't tell which.
Thank you Marilyn for sharing this video. I signed up for one of the preorder lasers and can't wait to try my hand at engraving and and laser cutting. Hopefully, you share more videos on crafting with the WeCreat laser.
@@vanessaparnell4155 that’s great! I will be doing more videos using the Vista. I am really loving it! I just bought some more wood to make more projects 😃
Absolutely. I got the wood from WeCreat. It is a UV printed wood. Here is a link to a variety pack. The variety pack is a bit expensive. I prefer the one that I used in the video. I am thinking about getting more of it. I believe 6 pieces of it is just under $30. shrsl.com/4ok6i They also have solid colors.
Hey Marilyn, hey thank you for the information I received my we-create Vista here I go again. I have a question. Where did you get that pre-coated wood with the paper on it
I believe I have tried 9 lasers. Some Diode and some CO2. Some open frame and some closed frame. I started with lasers when I bought the Glowforge Basic back in (I think it was) 2020. It was either 2020 or 2021.
Which one would you recommend is best for all types of acrylic and wood. I have a glowforge pro and love it but want to add another and not sure if I should get another pro or a different brand/type.
@@kimlane9731 to do all types of acrylic, it would need to be a CO2 laser. The WeCreat laser is a diode laser. I have a Glowforge CO2 laser and have had it since March 2020. I really love it, but it won't engrave on tumblers. My other CO2 laser is an xTool P2 and it will also engrave on tumblers. There is now an updated xTool P2S. www.xtool.com/?ref=k168PFCI6sbs5Q&
No, with a diode laser, you can cut cast acrylic, but not clear or transparent cast acrylic. If you are okay with using non-clear templates, it might be okay. I will be using it on acrylic soon, so if you want to see the results, stay tuned. Thanks so much for watching!
The laser will have built-in settings, but you can adjust them if you find they aren't working well for you. It does take some trial and error, but it's not bad.
Thank you very much! Yes, the working area is up to 16.334 inches by 11.42 inches, but you can easily fit even larger pieces of wood in the machine. Today, I have been working with 20 inches by 12 inches pieces of wood because some Glowforge wood that I ordered was that size. I am limited to the working area of 16.334" x 11.42" though.

In this case, I liked the one that the regular laser did. I feel like I need to dial in my settings with the IR one better. The theory is that the IR lens has a smaller/narrower beam and so can do a clearer engrave on certain materials for intricate details. I will be working with it more to see if I see a difference.
Thank you! I was really happy with how it turned out. Maybe I would make the E a little wider next time, but as far as how the laser did with the materials, it did a great job.

All of that looks so amazing! Where do you buy the coated wood with the floral pattern? 🤯
It is from WeCreat. In addition to patterned wood, they have solid as well. shrsl.com/4oqe1
Everything you made came out great! Thanks for sharing some fun project ideas!
Thank you very much!
Great review!! Love the projects. I paid my deposit yesterday. I'm so excited to get it 🤗
That is so exciting!!! I hope you love it.
Everything came out great. Loved the saying on the slate coaster
Thank you, Renee! I really love to make them as little gifts and such. They are so easy to make on just about any laser.
Wow, Marilyn, that is some pretty pre-coated wood 😊
Thank you! I really love the one I used in this video too.

Did you have an acrylic dog tag or a metal dog tag?
It was coated metal dog tag. Thank you for watching!
In my Delonda voice I LUV IT💙
I can just hear it! Thanks for watching, Nicole.

Wood this be good to cut acrylic/plexi templates so I can use them with a rotary cutter?

Thanks so much for this video. Is there anything that this Vista laser doesn’t do that the larger one does?
No. If you have the larger one, you wouldn't need this one.

Have you engraved ceramic (tile) or drinking glasses yet? I would love to see that.
Not yet, but I'm definitely going to the the tiles. I'll try to do drinking glasses too.
Which of the dog tags did you prefer. The 1 with 2W IR or the 10W regular. I'm a little confused as to what the 2W will do that the regular won't.

Would it cut wood if I put vinyl over the wood?
I believe it would, but it would have to be laser-safe vinyl.
I’m in love with all of those
