I use Fujifilm XT-4 with a 16-55mm f2.8. Love this setup and I use them for potential vlogs, portrait and landscape photography. The PGYTECH MantisPod looks amazing for anything I would use it for like outdoors, indoors, handheld over head the camera style. Beautiful design! Props to PGYTECH!
This is perfect, I saw other reviews but they didn't touch on if it would work with an action camera and you covered that. I use my iPhone 11 Pro and Osmo Action to do my shooting. I love shooting all types of shots and I am just starting my "retirement" career in videography. Thank you sir!! I am sold!! This is now added to the Father's Day wish list LOL
I shoot mostly on a Sony a6400 with a tamron 17-70mm. I do shoot and edit freelance video projects, but I love to go camping and hiking and try my hand at landscape photography. I'm looking forward to capturing a lot of footage of my road trip with my daughter this summer when we visit the great smokey mountains to go camping. Great review, I wouldn't mind getting one of these.
I’m shooting a GH5. It’s lighter than my 70d and has dual card slots. I’m going to Hawaii next month to see my 92 year old uncle. I’m going to interview him about his life. That’s why I’m looking at the mantispod. Vlogging tripod. I’m using my iPhone 12 Pro and a rode mic for the interview
I shoot with either my Canon 90D and/or my iPhone plus my DJI Pocket as well. I can see this helping me out big time as I am stuck in a wheelchair. I could use this to mount a camera at various angles on my chair or on objects for shooting B-roll. Plus I am also a huge stills guy. I love shooting landscapes and cityscapes from lower angles to give everyone a different view. This would be fantastic for that.
I appreciate the video. This seems like a great toy for people who like to play with their gear rather than use it. I see this offering "solutions" for problem that I never had. I'd consider this for someone who doesn't have a tripod and wants to spend $150 quickly. But if you already have a tripod you've likely been able to use it and your creativity to solve any problems. And if you have a good tripod then buying another just wastes your money and creates more stuff that will end up at Goodwill/the dump. My personal favorite is the Pedco Ultrapod, about $20 - or 1/7 the price. Again, thank you for the nice video. But, no sale.
Absolutely love this thing! It's USP for me is the versatility. I'd be able to get so many types of shots with this one tripod. I'm an avid landscape and travel photographer, and I've recently got into video making. I travel to places around my state on my bicycle so travelling light is the topmost priority for me. I use the Nikon D5200, but I'm gonna be making the switch to Sony full frame within a few months! And I recently bought an insta360 One X2 and a Mavic Air 2. For the time being I mostly place my camera on the ground or any place I can find to get shots of me cycling up hills and such. This tripod would be the perfect addition to my kit and would honestly help a lot with making banger content! As always, love your videos. May the best one win! Happy shooting ❤️
Pretty handy for my lava tube explorations. I'm not concerned about it possibly being complicated as you probably find a few common positions and it quickly becomes routine. Nice review. I'll have to look into one.
Solid job again ♤, always enjoy the vids.....I mainly use Osmo Action and mobile for vlogs.....been looking for an elite handheld....Pgytech nailed it with this! I'm a mixed bag in terms of what I shoot/capture....just like getting outside and enjoying this world while I can....thanks again for the content
What an awesome mini tripod Aldryn!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!! I really appreciate it!! I have a Nikon D-7000, and a Canon 70D. I like landscapes and wildlife photography, aerial photography, and I did the racing circuit (auto and boats) for 3 years.
The first requirements were all done last year except for IG. There are a couple of cameras including an iPhone 7+ A Ricoh GR III. I like people and some landscape. PGYTECH has some very cool ideas. I love the low angles and the included grip for a phone and the GRIP for used to hang in different spots Hands free is always a plus. Maybe the Swiss Army will utilize some of this design. S glad for notifications Just wish my notifications worked better on my phones. See you soon.
I love that this works with all types of video devices. I have all of the above (A7III, Iphone 12, & a GoPro 8). I shoot portraits, but people always like to see my BTS pics, so I would definitely be using the Mantispod for that. Great review and I look forward to purchasing one soon!
This tripod has a lot of nice features, the ball head, the hook, the integrated phone holder, the cold shoe... Shooting with smartphone and Fuji xpro3.
Nice video and good information - thanks for that. I have numerous cameras, from the mobile phone to the full-frame DSLR and a few things in between. I try to use the DSLR most of the time (stills), but recently got a GoPro and I'm loving it. More often than not, I'm shooting landscapes or action. I got the GoPro Fetch harness for the doggie and it's awesome.
PGY Tech have put a lot of time into it. I’m using a DJI Osmo and about to do the Simson Desert in Australia, so I will be taking action shots of vehicles and landscape.
Omg this is actually what i have been looking for. I have been looking for a multifunctional portable tripod that is able to carry my Sony a7ii and canon g7x ii. I have the mini tripod from pgytech already and used it a lot with my smaller cameras when I traveled and I was very satisfied. As a student the price is actually alright and next semester I’m going to have a video class so the tripod is going to in good use.
Pgytech is really innovative in their products. I have been using a lot of Pgytech products for my DJI Osmo Action, Osmo Pocket, Mavic 2 drones with pleasure....because the quality is awesome and the prices are generally affordable
Ohhh the possibilities with this mantispod! I'm using my Sony ZV-1 mainly for vlogging so I think this will definitely help a lot of vloggers/content creators out there. Great review thank you!
Love the hook function. Mostly shooting with iPhone and GoPro B roll is a canon 6d and macro lens. I shoot for my RUclips channels. There is no traveling so just for content.
Multi functional tripod, definitely a buying tool. I use a canon EOS7 but I’m still learning all the functions. Just a hobby I’m returning to after a long lay off...
This really an interesting new Tripod, the folks over at PGY Tech are really creating some great new gear. Nice review, you got me sold, I need one of these.
This MantisPod has me thoroughly intrigued. I shoot timelapses from all sorts of angles and this would open up so many more possibilities. Would definitely pair nicely with my Lumix camera.
This looks amazing! I’m just transitioning into a full time media position at our church and need a tripod that works with all my devices. Shooting on a iPhone XS Max and Nikon D3400 interview videos and music videos, kids, adults, city/landscape and hopefully that DJI mini 2 I asked for my birthday! 🙋🏼♂️🙏🏼🎉
I use a GoPro hero session and a canon powershot to shoot vlogs while i'm on vacation. I also love capturing awesome time lapses and aerial videography. Love your content man!
Very interesting Portable tripod. Your right it does a lot of things the major players do. Very cool. I shoot with a Sony a7c and a Sony a7siii. Feel like that tripod would be great for the a7c “vlogging”. I shoot photography landscapes and family portraits. Of course video…real estate and interviews plus my RUclips stuff. Nice job man!
I use my phone quite a bit since it’s so convenient but also use my Sony a6400. So many different types of shots! From landscape to portraits of my family/friends, to short videos of random trips. Would love this tripod since it’s so versatile.
I would've used this in so many ways on my last trip! Extending my selfie stick out on the balcony for the insta 360 to have better perspective handsfree! Awesome review by the way. I love pgytech. Seems they keep thinking of things we all need and stick in in an all-in-one product!
So this looks totally cool. I’d use it mostly with my GoPro using all the unusual ways this tripod offers to set up! I like shooting action pieces from crazy angles.... 😄
Omg i have literally been searching for a month for the the right first tripod that’s as versatile and has most if not all of what I want it to have. And this just came out and I’m like yoooo. I normally do a lot of travel and video shots, either of myself or of the scene I’m in. I use a fuji and sony rx100 but I’m looking into the canon m50, but am gonna focus on iPhone photography and videography first ☺️
I sort of use my Canon M6 Mark ii for everything! From vlogging to video streaming, to product photography and modeling shots. It's nice to have a little camera that can sort of replace my DSLR. Thank you PGYTECH for sponsoring this video. MantisPod is a pretty sexy tripod. Nice work!
Congrats Christian you were randomly selected to win the MantisPod. Please reply back here with your email address formatted like this (youremailgmailcom) within 24 hours

Wow this tripod look great ! I use a canon 5d mark III, iPhones (iPhone X, 12 pro max), a DJI Mavic Air 2 and a GoPro 😁 With this gear, I shoot landscapes, portrait, sports videos and macro photos. Also thank you for your videos which are really useful 😊👍🏻
This looks like a great small tripod to have around once I start traveling again. I mainly shoot portraits and fashion, but want to get out and shoot landscapes and urban spaces again.
Great review of a superb product ! Thanks! :-) I am often out and about in the countryside here in Sweden and being able to hook the mantis pod onto any suitable tree branch or park bench is a great possibility for my favourite hobby of taking "groupies" ( Selfies with lots of us in the piccie! ) Cheers, Patrick
This tripod looks very versatile, plus the Mantis feature looks cool and interesting. Awesome that the pro comes with an Arca Swiss mount. I shoot with a Sony A7C for portrait and landscape photos and dabble in videography.
Its really handy, specially the hook up mode, which may give some freedom to mount it on tree at high angle while trekking. If it has a quarter inch adapter at bottom of a leg so as to attach it on monopod on the go for more wide angle shot.
Very useful bit of kit. Many uses. Have the a6500 and a6300 and about to get the a6600. It looks as if it would be a good match for a camera of that size with a pretty compact lens. I shoot mainly landscapes and architecture, but sometimes also music performances.
Great review and video. Different is good. Still using an iPod, yes iPod for simple pictures to share with family and friends. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
It appears to be very useful tripod product. I am new to video recording with a GoPro and DSLR. Really searching for multipurpose equipment for this new hobby and, possible, future side-business. Thank you for the review.
This would be perfect with my Panasonic GH5. A small camera with small lenses on a compact tripod. I'd love to try that mantis mode to set up some interesting timelapses.
Wonderful video. This looks really useful for shooting here in The Islands of The Bahamas :) I mainly use my dual Canon 80Ds, a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone and Samsung Galaxy A11 and A31. Waving!
This is crazy cool, I've been wanting to pick up a sort of smaller tripod to help with vlogging from another vantage point while I film/shoot a session, this would be epic.
This new tripod from Pgytech definitely takes the best of many good table tripods like the Leofoto MT-03, Sony GP-VPT2BT, the PolarPro Apex, etc. I would like to get one for using with my ZV-1 but also my A7iii ☺️🙏🏻
Good stuff. Ordered one even though I don't (currently) vlog! I use mostly a combo of Canon C100 mkII and XC10 for corporates, events, etc. Hopefully starting my official channel this year.
I'd be shooting with my Osmo Action and possibly my iPhone 8. It looks interesting. Thanks for the thorough overview. The Swiss Army Knife of tripods seems like a good description.
That's pretty spiffy. I'd love that for my travel videos! Going to Puerto Rico this time next month! I use my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and a GoPro 9. Food, interesting places, and people all make it in my videos.
Lovely bit of kit, I'm currently using a Insta360 OneR twin edition and my cell phone for filming but I'm considering stepping up to DSLR or a mirrorless camera, nice initial review Aldryn 👍
Nice, would love to have the MantisPod Pro. Would like to use it with the Sony a7r2, but would use the phone and Yi action cam as well. I'm trying to do more overlanding adventure videos in the Jeep and this tripod looks useful for that. Thanks Eric

I’d be nervous to use that hook with my expensive camera but that tripod is definitely in a league of its own. Good job, PGYTECH! I might get one.
This tripod and the Snap Mount will be epic for GoPro vlogging. What I like to shoot most are street and landscapes. Thanks for the review!
